Privilege can be understood through the lens of daily safety precautions: just as men typically don't take precautions against sexual assault while women do, white people generally don't take precautions against police violence while Black people do, because the former group doesn't face these risks while the latter does.

Hey guys, if you're white and you're still struggling to understand your privilege, let me put it simply for you.
I'm going to use like a little analogy to hopefully make it simple. So, if you took a group of men, you surveyed them, and you asked them what precautions they take on a daily basis to assure that they're not victims of sexual assault, what would they say? Most likely, they take little to no precautions, right?
Because that's not really something they have to worry about. Now, if you took a group of women and you asked them the same question, what would they say?
They're going to answer very differently as women have a set list of things that they do on a daily basis to assure that they're not victims of assault. Now, if you took a group of white people and you asked them what precautions they take on a daily basis to assure that they're not killed by a police officer for simply existing, what would they say? I'll speak on behalf of all white people. Um, I don't take any precautions. But, if you ask a group of black people the same question, what would they say? See, right there is where you have privilege.
You don't have to worry that the color of your skin will affect how a police officer treats you. Police brutality is real. Black Lives Matter is not a trend, and you should be using your privilege for good.
