If you're running Hermes agents in the terminal, you're doing it wrong. You can't track what's happening. You can't control multiple agents. You can't even see if something broke. This free dashboard solves everything. You get live monitoring. It's agent communication, task automation, model switching, all from one interface. I'm walking you through the complete setup process and showing you the exact features that will transform how you use Hermes starting today. Listen, most people install Hermes and think they're good to go. They run commands in the terminal. They watch text scroll by and they have no idea what's actually happening behind the scenes. That's a terrible way to work because when you're managing AI agents, you need visibility.
You need control. You need to know what's working and what's not and you can't get that from a command line.
That's why Hermes Hub exists. It's a browser-based control panel that gives you complete oversight of every agent you're running. You can see them all at once. You can interact with them individually and you can fix problems the moment they appear. The setup takes under 5 minutes and the best part is you don't have to be technical to make it work. You literally just copy a command and let Hermes handle the installation.
No manual configuration. No messing with files. It just works. So here's how you actually get this running. You go to the Hermes Hub repository on GitHub. There's an installation command right at the top. You copy that command. Then you open up your Hermes terminal and you paste it in or you can do what I do and just tell Hermes to install it for you.
Hermes instance and type setup Hermes Hub and connect it to my current environment. That's it. Hermes reads the command, installs the package, sets up the local server, and launches the interface automatically. The whole process took about 3 minutes. No errors.
No troubleshooting. Just a clean installation that works the first time.
Once it's installed, you open your browser and navigate to the local address. Usually it's localhost 3000.
Boom. You're looking at the full Hermes Hub interface. The first screen you see is the dashboard. This is your command center. It shows you how many agents are active, how many tasks are queued, what models you're using, and whether everything is running smoothly or if something needs attention. This is already way better than the terminal because in the terminal you're just guessing. You see output. You don't see the big picture. This dashboard you see everything at a glance. Now let's talk about the most important feature, the chat interface. This is located in the left sidebar and this is where you can have actual conversations with your agents without typing commands. You click on chat, you start a new conversation, and you can ask your agent anything. What are you working on? What tasks do you have scheduled? Show me your last output. Whatever you need. Tested this by asking what projects are you currently tracking. The agent responded with a list of active projects, file paths, status updates, timestamps.
The chat window. This is massive because now you don't have to run status commands in the terminal and pass through logs. You just ask and the agent tells you. Here's another use case.
Let's say you want to schedule a recurring task. Instead of editing config files or writing cron jobs, you go to the scheduled tasks section. You click create new task. You give it a name like daily content scraper. You write the prompt and you set the interval to every 24 hours. The interface handles everything else. It saves the task, schedules it, and runs it automatically. You don't touch the terminal once. And if you want to see if that task is working, you just go back to the dashboard. Shows you when the task last ran, whether it succeeded or failed, and what the output was. Now let's talk about the agents tab. This is where you see every single agent you have running, not just Hermes agents, but any AI agent connected to your system, Claude, Codex, Gemini, whatever you're using. I've got 18 agents running right now.
Handling research tasks, some are writing content, I'm managing files, and I can see all of them in this one screen. If I click on any agent, I get details. What model it's using, what tasks it's assigned to, when it was last active, and I can send it commands directly from this interface. So, if one of my agents is stuck or not responding, I don't have to restart the whole system. You just go to that agent, click restart, and it's back online in seconds. Now, here's where things get really powerful, the health monitoring section. This is where you diagnose problems before they become disasters.
Health tab shows you the status of every integration you have.
Keys, provider connections, model endpoints.
When I open mine, I saw that two of my providers were showing errors. One was an expired API key for a text-to-speech service. The other was a rate limit issue with an image generation endpoint.
Without this dashboard, I would have had no idea those were broken until I tried to use them. Because the health tab flagged them, I fixed both issues in under 2 minutes. This is the kind of visibility you need when you're running automation at scale. You can't afford to have things silently failing in the background. Let's talk about model management. This is in the model section, and this is where you control which AI models your agents are using.
Default Hermes might be using GPT 3.5 or GPT 4. Maybe you want to switch to Claude. Maybe you want to use a cheaper model for simple tasks and save the expensive models for complex work. You go to the models tab, you see all available models, and you can set which one is the default. You can also assign specific models to specific agents. For example, I have one agent that only does research. Don't need Claude Opus for that. So, I switched it to Gemini Flash.
Same quality, it's faster, and it doesn't eat through my API credits.
Another agent handles code generation.
For that, I use Claude Sonnet because coding is where Claude excels, and I want the best output possible. The point is, with this interface, you can optimize your model usage without writing a single line of code. Now, let's talk about something most people ignore, the sessions tab. This is where you see your conversation history with each agent. Every time you interact with an agent through the chat, it saves that session. So, if you need to go back and see what you asked 3 days ago, you just go to sessions, find the date, and read the transcript. This is incredibly useful for debugging, for remembering what workflows you set up, or for training new team members on how you use your agents.
