[00:15:51]Okay, I think a good chunk of the community that is here on a regular basis is here right now. While I was going to wait until 10:30, um I would like to talk about what's going on in the news. So, and what's gone on over the last especially 4 days. So, I'm going to I'm going to talk about it now.

[00:16:14]And when I tell you that this is not when I say having the hard conversations and being willing to be held accountable and not liking it, this is this is what I'm talking about. Uh if you cannot see my uh you cannot see my um hand right now, but it's shaking like crazy. So, um, so for those of you that, uh, were unaware, uh, 5 days ago, this, uh, during a conversation, we had we had some stuff happen during the live, and I have since then talked to dozens of people, dozens of people via phone, via text, via DM.

[00:17:27]And I have gone back and watched the video myself.

[00:17:41]Um, when I started going live, I was not planning on making this a business. The purpose was a place to have convers hard conversations about what's really going on in the world.

[00:17:57]And I it grew into something I wasn't expecting.

[00:18:08]The purpose of this live, this community has always been that we all live under the same non-negotiables. That all people, no matter your race, religion, gender, identity, deserve rights, respect, dignity, and safety.

[00:18:25]And it has come to my attention since the event on Wednesday that there were many people that were feeling that that that wasn't happening here that that people did not feel safe in this space and I blame myself for that.

[00:19:00]Uh this is still my live. This is still my community that I created and I uh I failed at that as a whole. Um, when when what happened on Wednesday happened, I should have spoken up and spoken out.

[00:19:35]I should have stood up for everybody in this community in a way that I didn't do. Um, and then I did something else the next day that I shouldn't have, which was talk about Scott.

[00:19:59]I talked about Scott with him not here.

[00:20:04]I allowed things to be said about people that have been that are in this community that I shouldn't have. I'm not saying anybody in this community does not have the right to feel what they feel about anything. I can't control what you guys feel about anything.

[00:20:23]Um, I can control the way this live is run. I can control the way this space is made safe. That's my job.

[00:20:39]That is my job. Um, if you've noticed for a lot of you, uh, there are no more mods right now. Um, I am starting over.

[00:20:55]Uh, I'm creating I want to create a space where all people, no matter your race, religion, gender, identity, deserve rights, respect, dignity, and safety.

[00:21:07]And if I truly believe that, then I need to actually live that myself and I need to stand up for that.

[00:21:24]So, what does that mean in the end? Not a whole heck of a lot in the grand scheme of things. Um, I am not massively changing. Uh, I'm going to be structuring the live a bit more.

[00:21:42]uh there will be a level of respect that will be expected from everyone and and I don't this is something that scares the crap out of me. Uh, I I wanted this place to be a space that was good for everyone that that that that was everything to everyone. And I realized over this time that I cannot be that. I cannot be a space for everyone.

[00:22:28]Not in the way some people need. this space will not be the right place for everybody.

[00:22:39]Um, Scott, I know you're in here. I want to apologize to you publicly. I know we've already talked privately, but I want to apologize to you publicly for talking about you the way um when you weren't here.

[00:23:01]That was not right. It was not acceptable. I shouldn't have done it.

[00:23:11]And I understand no one's perfect, but it's not that I feel the need to. It's that I want my goal is always to bring people together.

[00:23:58]And again, I can't control people being hurt or not.

[00:24:03]I can't control that. There will be people that will be hurt by what is said in these things. I can't control it.

[00:24:14]And I've said right now again, whether you're talking Kia or Scott or anybody, I did not run the live well. I allowed the live to get to a place where many people were hurt by what has happened.

[00:24:55]I don't want Kia to be hurt by what happens in here. I don't want Scott to be hurt. I don't want anyone to be hurt.

[00:25:02]No one should be hurt by what we're talking about. It's one of the reasons that I am changing the way I am doing things.

[00:25:23]What is the ma primary goal of this community? The primary goal of this community is to talk about what is going on probably primarily in the United States but in the world and help us progress as a global society.

[00:25:39]Because the fact is is we are a global society.

[00:25:58]Now again, I know this might mean that what does that entail? No more discourse. Oh no, there will be discourse. There will absolutely be discourse. We will disagree.

[00:26:08]We will we will be um we will be emotional. We will be angry.

[00:26:19]We will be all of that.

[00:26:24]But in the end we are going But in the end we are going to but in the end we are going to be respectful to anyone in here that believes that all people no matter your race, religion, gender or identity deserve rights, respect, dignity and safety.

[00:26:53]We don't expect perfection from anybody.

[00:27:14]Uh, it actually hurt finding out how many people were struggling with the way this live has been uh for a long time and it I I have I I heard through the grapevine that a lot of people were talking with each other about problems with the live but nobody was talking to me. Um, could I have fixed what was going on the problem beforehand? I would like to think so.

[00:43:29]Can I guarantee it? No, I can't. And it is, like I said, I knew when I went into this that people were going to probably be upset at me for it.

[00:43:47]I also realized that uh I ran this thing as a uh you know, I started this whole channel as one thing and it turned into a business and I haven't been running it as at least a stent as a business and that is again it's all on me. Um, okay.

[00:44:06]So, yes, um, Iran and the US have been firing at each other.

[00:44:16]Uh, Iran's targeted uh, fired two ballistic missiles at forces in Kuwait.

[00:44:24]And then self-defense strikes have happened on radar and command and control sites for drones.

[00:44:34]So, you know, we've really got a great um we've got a great ceasefire going on right now. I don't even know. Have they and has anyone heard whether they've said anything about whether we are still supposedly in a ceasefire or is it just has it just gone on? Like is it are they have they given up on that find finally?

[00:45:02]Given the fact that we bombed them and they're shooting back, I'm pretty sure even if the ceasefire was in place, quote unquote, there's no ceasefire.

[00:45:32]Now, Mike, I know you want to move to the news, but since I'm the only one that has not responded publicly, I'd like to know if I could.

[00:45:49]Um yes a lot has gone down in the last number of days. Uh and I was the brunt of it. I did not speak publicly about it and that was by design and the reason is are really two reasons. First off, lashing out publicly rarely achieves its goals because perceptions that are made in emotion are rarely accurate. And secondly, for the obvious reason, there was a video of it. There was a video that everybody could see and it was my I was content to let people form their own opinions about this issue and I was quite confident of what those opinions would be. And my confidence was justified because I have had a tremendous outpouring of compassion and support from within this community and from many people that I certainly didn't expect it from. I would like to thank them all. You know who you are.

[00:46:53]What are the lessons of all this? At least as far as I can tell.

[00:46:57]Get the facts before you form your opinions.

[00:47:02]First impressions in an emotional time are almost always faulty.

[00:47:08]Learn, reflect, pause before you speak.

[00:47:14]Whenever possible, reach out privately before reacting publicly.

[00:47:21]It's been my experience that most issues can be handled amicably that way. And thirdly, give grace. We are all human.

[00:47:31]We are all fallible and we are all mortal.

[00:47:36]And remember to keep our eyes on the prize, folks. We're fighting for our very democracy here. We don't have the time, nor do we have the luxury for trivial squables. We should be working together and petty squables among ourselves. And I'm talking about the nation here, not this live among people of our side of the aisle in the nation. That's why we're where we are. The other side keeps their eyes on the prize. We need to start keeping our eyes on the prize. As far as I'm concerned, this regrettable incident is closed. Your apology, you apologized profusely to me multiple times, Mike. They were accepted privately and now you you have publicly.

[00:48:30]I have been aware of problems in the community. People have been coming for me for more than six to seven months now.

[00:48:38]I kept them to myself because I didn't think think that it was my role to bring it to you.

[00:48:51]Well, maybe if we had, we wouldn't be where we are right now. And for that, I take full responsibility.

[00:49:03]Your apology is also uh accepted. Uh again, I'm not perfect. I don't expect anyone else to be perfect. Um I think one of the things I am realizing more and more every single day is how difficult what we are trying to do is as a whole. I think more and more I am realizing how difficult because there is a lot of anger, there is a lot of pain, there is we the reality is is we our country was built on what it was built at built on and we cannot we cannot run away from But we also need to figure out a way to learn and grow to something better.

[00:50:13]And I have noticed not just in this community but in lots of communities right now um we people that have been allies that should be allies that that have the same goals the same fundamentals um are are eating each other alive and again I can't control how anyone reacts to anything I say.

[00:50:50]I know that my goal is never to hurt anybody.

[00:50:54]And I know that I do say things and have said things that have hurt people.

[00:51:00]I'm going to say things that are going to hurt somebody in this community every single day probably because I will say it in a way that that I could have done better.

[00:51:11]I also know that my end goal is to learn and grow and be better long term.

[00:51:20]Um, which is why which is why I give people a lot more grace than maybe some people like. I don't know. I can't control that. I can only control what I'm doing. and and this community. Um, >> thank you, Mike. I know. I know. Please, please be aware. I know how difficult it was for you to call me, to send multiple texts to me. I knew that that was not easy for you to do. I'm aware of that.

[00:52:00]And I know it's not easy for everybody, and I mean everybody in this community.

[00:52:05]I'm aware of some of the comments made on over on the other side and I really want to say this from my heart. I have no malice towards anyone. Absolutely no one. My if anyone wants to approach me and discuss things that they think that I have done wrong, the door is open and I can assure you that the welcome will be heartfelt and sincere.

[00:52:37]We have a nice community here. We have hard work to do. Our democracy is on a knife's edge.

[00:52:45]And we don't have the luxury of self-indulging in these type of divisive actions.

[00:53:00]I and again for the tremendous outpouring of support that I have had from a great many members of this community. I didn't expect it. I didn't speak out deliberately. I wanted to let the facts speak for themselves. I knew the people would go see the video. I knew damn well they would. And I was happy with the response and moved beyond words. I cannot express that enough. Um, and and I hope everybody involved in this incident has also gotten support from their friends and I think that that's a wonderful thing to do. Even if they may disagree with me, I think it's wonderful. So, I have no malice towards anyone in this community. Emphasis on the word anyone.

But I will say this, for what it's worth, I'm actually proud of all of you for taking accountability, stepping up, being adults, and allowing yourself to grow and change from this, allowing it to help to further you as a person, and allowing yourself to become better from it, rather than trying to sweep it under the rug and act as though it didn't happen. So on that front, for me to you as an outsider looking in, I'm proud of you for that because I know how hard it is to take accountability and to publicly make a statement.

[00:57:24]I did find some really cool information to end on a high note at the end because I realized that we need to also talk about some some cool things that that have come up.

[00:57:40]I've saw a video and the information was actually kind of hilarious and amazing and I'm looking forward to saying that towards the end.

[00:57:50]It's okay, Lewis. I understand again. I understand that this is right now this is super emotional for everybody that has been involved that has that has that has been talking to people whether it's me or other people involved.

[00:58:17]So some days we are going to have to come to the realization that the only thing that we agree with is that all people, no matter your race, religion, gender, or identity, deserve rights, respect, dignity, and safety. That's going to be it.

I've lost I have lost I've been doing I've been doing lives of some sort for 10 years now and uh I have lost my entire community to some extent uh three or four times for random reasons for completely separate reasons that aren't things that I had any control over.

[00:59:18]So this is this is the joys of the internet. This is the joys of trying to have conversations the way we are is none of this is easy.

[00:59:32]Uh is the Russia thing a good thing? Um in the sense of uh it's going to raise prices more. No, it's not a good thing. But it's happening because Ukraine is kicking their butt.

[01:00:07]>> Well, you brought up Ukraine and kicking butt. It's truly amazing when you think about it, isn't it? Ukraine is destroying Russian oil refineries, Russian logistics.

[01:00:19]Who would have thought that a that a alleged superpower could be brought to its knees the way that Ukraine has? And they're doing it without any help from us. And I think that's going to come back to bite us in the butt in the future.

[01:00:34]I think our lack I think our lack of support for a nation fighting for its very existence for a nation that has been invaded that's a European nation soon to be a member of the EU hopefully a member of NATO someday is now producing 70% of their own weaponry inhouse while they are under ferocious bombardment. That is just a remarkable story.

[01:01:04]Yeah, it's it's pretty wild what uh what's happening over there. Oh, I'm sorry. Somebody in comments said not support. I know the American people support Ukraine. Unfort I was talking about the American government. The only weapons that we allowed to go to Ukraine, the Europeans have to pay for.

[01:01:27]We've cut off all financial in all financial support for Ukraine, which I think is a very shortsighted and foolish move.

[01:01:43]Yeah, I'm I'm actually Have you seen all the news about all the um the the fibers the the fiber line that is just basically like covering like like a good chunk of of Ukraine right now?

I I guess it's to keep them from using uh jamming devices uh with Starlink and things like that because Ukraine normally will will use their target weaponry uh you know using Starlink and Russia can sometimes block that which sends the drones and the other uh ballistic missiles off into you know La La Land.

[01:02:37]So they're using at least for their drone technology uh fiber optic cables which makes it uh extremely accurate.

Um it basically they have literally uh like in some cases miles long uh strands of fiber optics that just uh that just fly behind the that that they just sit there with a wheel that goes behind them as it's flying so they can control and once they do their thing the fiber line just stays there.

[01:03:13]So there's whole parts that are just giant like just covered like they've got walkways that you look above and it's just covered in in fiber in fiber cable. It's it's pretty wild and I can't imagine what the cleanup is going to be for all of that when this is all said and done.

[01:03:44]Yeah, fiber lives aren't jammable. So, no jamming, no no trying to take over.

[01:03:51]They can't take over uh the drones or anything when they do that. So, 75 million people voted knowing we would pull support for Ukraine and didn't care what happens. I mean, here's the thing. you're assuming that 70 all 75 million people thought about that. I would argue that all 75 people million people didn't think about that.

[01:04:20]Um and that's one of those other things that I'm starting to realize. The more talking we do, the more stuff that we the more stuff that we do is um we what we are dealing with is we've said like they're uneducated. There's a lot of people that are just it's not even that they that they're uneducated in the it's that they literally either can't they just don't have the time, they don't have the mental capacity, they don't uh they've grown up in a bubble. There's a lot of things that could cause it.

[01:05:04]Those people voted for their wallets over human beings. I'm not hearing you and I think it's I think it's absolutely wretched and I I will hold everyone who did that responsible but also if you're barely surviving and I mean again I I feel and Scott you are a history person you can tell me if what I'm what I see is the case. um people, especially people that are uh poor, people that are struggling, it's it they they react to someone like Trump uh throughout history like that. That's that's pretty common for people to who are dealing with whatever to jump on the first person that tells them what they want to hear.

Uh, witness Germany 1933, witness Italy in the 1920s, uh, witness uh, Franco in Spain. uh witnessed the Boleviks in 1917 uh in in Russia. Uh, sure. History is replete with that. And you know, when especially when times are rough for people, the simplest answer is what they leap at. And that is added to when you have a leader who says it's not your fault, it's the others without, you know, spelling out how the others have made their lives miserable.

[01:06:59]as long as people are told it's not your fault and I'll do something for you and we'll we'll get the others and that is especially true in fascist societies.

[01:07:15]Yeah. So, and again I am in no way sitting here saying that we should start believing people, right? Absolutely not.

[01:07:23]Like like the trusting people. Yeah. We we can't trust people to do the right thing past themselves. That is a problem. That is a human problem. That is a humanity problem. Especially for people uh around my age and older. That's an even bigger problem. Um partially because the way we grew up was to be very uh we were taught to care about ourselves and the people directly around us and not and not uh and not care anywhere p care anymore past that. That's just a that is a societal thing that we're trying to push through. And it's not it's not going to be easy. When I when when I say uh we're going to all we're all going to sit here and say we want we want to fix this quickly because we do, right? All of us do. We want this to be fixed quickly 100%.

[01:08:48]What we are dealing with is a result of a problem that has been building for 50 years at least was started in the 80s >> almost a century.

So, if you are a person who likes to vote by mail, boy, don't sit on that ballot. When you get it, fill it out. And what I would recommend is go to your local post office and post it that very day. It is concerning. Uh I do believe that they are going to be moving towards not counting any ballots received after election day. A certain amount always come in after election day. Most states allow it. I do believe the Congress does have the right to cut that off and the Supreme Court has already ruled in in at least one case that uh that ballots received after can be cut off. Uh, so if you are a person who votes by mail, you're right to bring that up. Thank you for for bringing up the issue. It's a very important issue. If you're a person who votes by mail, please, when you get your ballot, you get them nice and early, don't just put it on the kitchen counter and say, "I'll get to it a week before the election. Fill it out that day." And the one time that I voted by mail during the pandemic, I went right to the post office that day and put it in their hands. So that there's a timestamp on that right away.

It may affect a few closed congressional elections, which is bad enough, you know, for congressmen and women. But, um, I if if they can get away with this, are they going to try other stuff? And I think we have to be we have to be cleareyed about this. I think they're they're going to be planning a lot of different things.

[01:13:01]Make sure you are still registered to vote. They are constantly kicking people off the voter registration rules.

[01:13:08]And mind you, they do not have to tell you when they kick you off. The only time they have to tell you when you are removed is if you write in or request uh that you be removed from the voter registration rule. Otherwise, they can continuously kick you off and you wouldn't know.

[01:14:40]Well, I also have not been following that closely. We all know about uh senator, United States senator from the state of New Jersey, Andy Kim, being pepper-sprayed uh by these jack booted thugs. Um >> didn't know that. Please fill me in.

[01:14:57]>> Well, he he got pepper-sprayed. There's a lot of protest going on outside the detention centers. There's a detention center in New Jersey that apparently has deplorable uh conditions, both sanitation and in in food. Um, now Mike, I know you you had said uh Mikey Cheryl is disappointing you a bit. I would tell you to hold your fire a little bit on that and stay tuned. Uh, here here's why, folks.

[01:15:25]Everybody seems to think, and certainly the ICE agents, uh, not just in New Jersey, but throughout the nation seem to think that they have immunity. And there is a lot of immunity built into federal law enforcement. We know that.

[01:15:38]And they've got Trump in the White House who says he'll pardon them if they do anything wrong. Well, here's the problem for them. They are acting within the boundaries of certain states that also have laws and there's no immunity for them in those states and there's no pardon power for the president in those states. And as we've already seen in Minneapolis, the first indictments are starting to come down.

[01:16:01]>> And I would stay tuned in New Jersey because I think you're going to see a few more indictments come down. Good.

[01:16:09]>> I mean, >> if >> I mean, I did say that while I was disappointed in the sense of I'm I'm always going to struggle with any any governor using like state police and things like that when this is going on to when when it and again, it could be the news. I'm not there. I can't see what's going on. Obviously, the news is showing it more that of a it's showing when state police are reacting to um to protesters. I don't know what's happening the rest of the time. I've only seen clips. I think the only and I've said very specifically that um that it's very easy for any of us who are not governor and have never been governor and will never be governor to know what to pretend we know what she's doing they're doing and why they're doing it. what conversations they've had, what they're what they're hearing from their people.

[01:17:27]Again, you can we have every right every right to call out every decision that is made by every elected official. And we should, we absolutely should.

[01:17:48]I think we need when they make a decision whether it was the right decision or not that we disagree with we should 100% um we should 100% call it out we should tr your very good comment by uh Vonda in there and uh you're correct Vonda but you know as well as I do you're you're trained in the same methods that I'm trained in the justice system moves slowly, but it does move. And as for Mikey Cheryl, I'm not saying that she's going to stand up and do everything right. Um, as you just said, Mike, there's a lot of moving wheels here. And in the state of New Jersey, we have an attorney general. She may be following protocol and waiting for the attorney general to announce indictments or to announce actions that the attorney general wishes to take. And that would be the proper protocol to follow. It's not for the governor to announce legal action. and it's for the attorney general.

[01:18:48]>> And and again, what we're dealing with, what we're interacting with, what we're feeling is anger and frustration at the way the current federal government is doing things. And we want our states to fight back more. And that's valid.

[01:19:08]100% valid. We want them to fight back more. Um, and I'm always going to feel that way about every every elected official in every state. I I if you you you would have to be you would have to have no humanity whatsoever to see what's going on and sit there and just go be okay with it. Because in in our perfect world, Mikey Cheryl would would um would send, you know, the the state police in and the National Guard and just and fix the problem.

[01:19:51]In a perfect world, that's what we would get.

[01:20:14]My worries uh about ICE go a little bit further uh than immigration.

[01:20:20]Uh the you know Mark Wayne Mullen has toned down the rhetoric a little bit which may be a good thing or maybe something else. Now what do I mean by that? I'll try not to be so vague. It may be a good thing in that he realizes that ICE has gone too far and that now they will only go after criminals, etc., etc. Or are they holding them back to take action towards the midterms in voter intimidation?

[01:20:50]That scares the living hell out of me.

[01:20:53]We basically have how many people are nice? 20ome, thousand, I think, Mike.

[01:20:58]>> They have about 20,000 >> something like that. And they're hiring every day. So maybe by November. And I'm only taking a guess here. 30,000 35,000.

[01:21:09]Um, yes, it's true that ICE agents or anybody else cannot be within 200 ft of a polling place. It it varies by state, but it's usually around 200 ft. But they can do other tricky things. They can go into people of color's neighborhoods and all of a sudden have a police action there that will intimidate them from going out to vote. There's lots of little games that can be played here.

[01:21:37]And that's what scares the hell out of me because this is not a traditional policing organization. This seems to have developed into some sort of ptorian guard for the president to use as he sees fit.

[01:21:52]And that is what has me concerned. Maybe my concerns are completely baseless and I pray that I'm wrong, but given everything we know about this man, that's what scares the hell out of me.

[01:22:16]>> And and and again, this is this is really the hard part, right? uh about all of this is I was talking with somebody about it. I forget what day it was.

[01:22:30]The internet has done has done something to us uh as as a people. Um because we get all of our information because from it because there is so much of it on it because there is because we can get people that can can we get a billion different perspectives.

[01:22:59]Um 24 hours feels like you know 5 months in terms of how much we interact with the same potential stuff non-stop.

[01:23:19]It has caused us to want things to be fixed faster than is then is possible. Now again I say this let me change it in the current system it makes it you know it makes it it makes us impatient to get things fixed as fast as we want them to be fixed. Do I think we can create a different system that could fix some of these problems that could allow these problems to get fixed faster than they are currently?

[01:23:55]Absolutely.

[01:23:56]Um we cannot we cannot assume we we have done this a lot, right? We've done this a lot where we when we talk about things, we take them all.

[01:24:18]We struggle between the what we want it to be and what is what we're currently working in right now.

[01:24:28]Um, and we cannot let ourselves, it's a, it's a really annoying line that we are jumping back and forth between sometimes maybe too quickly.

[01:24:44]Um, it's important that we talk about how we want things to be going forward, but we also have to interact with them in the reality of where we are now.

[01:27:43]Yeah. I Let's be Let's be honest. Would any of us really want to be in a governor's uh shoes in 2026 right now? I wouldn't. I I feel bad for all the people that are running for any office right now because it's not it doesn't um it's not it's not going to be easy. It there there is in some of these situations there is no right decision, right?

[01:28:19]>> It it's it's tough. You see it with Gretchen Whitmar up in Michigan who is trying as best she can in, you know, coordination with her own principles to work with the administration and she's getting criticized for it.

[01:28:36]Other governors, uh, such as, I guess, uh, Newsome and Pritser are going full defcon one on the administration. And here's why it's such a tough, you know, you're on a balance beam as a state governor because damn it, you need federal money. You need that money and you've got a vindictive president and you don't want your people to suffer. So what do you do? It it's it's very easy for us to sit here and criticize a governor for not doing enough, for doing too much, for how come you didn't jump out and say this thing? They've got education dollars coming in. They got road dollars coming in. They have Medicaid dollars coming in. And it's not easy for them. They are they are on a they're on a balance beam. And that's why I said that the question, you know, do I wish Mikey had spoken out a little bit more? Yeah. But stay tuned is all I'm saying. We we don't know how this game ends up. And you know, we'll we'll see. And you know I a governor does and I know a governor has a responsibility to get along with Washington per se.

[01:29:50]They have a responsibility to uh advocate for their state's interests in Washington. And unfortunately part of that is dealing with an administration is dealing with the president. Uh that's part and parcel of a governor's job. um however difficult that may be.

[01:30:18]This is this is what we would call a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

[01:30:24]People are going to be suffering no matter what. And governors are making all of their decisions based on that. Um you have some that are that are making their decisions based their decisions are saying you know we're we know people are are suffering so we're going to take you know a you know defcon one against the president and there are others sometimes based on They're, you know, their their major voting block are making the decision to um to try and walk a line. And again, is it the right decision? I don't know. I don't agree with some of the decisions.

[01:31:24]Again, we've talked about that. I don't agree with the the choices they've made.

[01:31:28]Um, but again, I can't imagine knowing that every decision you make, no matter which one, the right, the wrong, the in between, people are going to get hurt, that don't deserve to get hurt.

[01:31:47]There is no escaping it with this administration, with the current political climate in the United States.

[01:32:00]There is absolutely no way to escape from the outcome of people being hurt.

[01:32:18]I've been reading a lot of somehow I've been reading a lot of books that deal with these kind of questions and um and it it's like it's like the tea it's like the Boston Tea Party.

[01:32:50]Um, again, I know we could have conversations specifically about what it was about, blah blah blah. There was no question that there was going to be a a not so great response after that happened.

[01:33:09]Did it need to be done?

[01:33:11]Was it necessary? Obviously, we can sit here and say, "Yeah, well, you know, we got out of out from the the thumb of the British Empire because of it." So, it ended up being a good thing. But a lot of people lost their lives because of that, because of a few small choices.

[01:33:36]Were they the right choices? I don't know.

[01:33:43]And again, I know I hear what you're saying, but I feel like this admin is going to pull funding regardless. Might as well. And and you know what, Garpoo, that is a valid that is a straightup valid statement. And I I want to make this clear to everyone.

[01:34:02]If you regardless of what me or Scott or Shadow or anyone else says about how hard of a job people like Gretchen Whitmer and others, uh, no matter how much we say that, uh, you know, they're trying really hard and look at what they're up against, you have every right to again say this is not what I want in a governor.

[01:34:36]I know and but that's a valid statement Garpoo for everyone you every one of you if you say you want a governor that is going to fight back that is going to act more like a Pritsker or a or a or a Newsome. That's a valid statement.

[01:34:56]That is an 100% valid statement. And I and I I mean I know all the people here will, but you know, anyone else that complains about it, I hope they're voting in primaries. I hope they're voting in general elections. I hope that they are pushing for someone who is going to lead their state, their city in the way that you want it to be led.

[01:35:21]And I hope you that we hold them accountable. In the end, we just we've got to as long as it's not a back and forth between Republicans and Democrats because again, the reason we are in this problem we are in is because that is all we've done is gone back and forth between Republicans and Democrats. You don't like what the Democrat does? Well, it's time to vote for a Republican. You don't like the Republican done? Well, it's time to vote for a Democrat because like that's why we got here.

[01:35:53]Instead, what we need to do is what I've been doing, what you've been doing, what other people have been doing is find out who our goddamn candidates are and actually vote for our candidates. And yes, in the primary, vote your idealistic primary by all means. And then in the general election, look at what you actually have and make the right choice for our country. Please, for the love of all that is holy. The whole back and forth is why we are in the mess we are in right now.

[01:36:24]>> And you know there is unfortunately other political news uh going on about the elections. Uh you might recall one of the issues that I brought up a number of times as I wondered if there would be any more shoes to drop for Mr. Graham Platner. And over the weekend, sure enough, another shoe has dropped. And this I'm going to ask people's opinions on uh because I really honestly have gone back and forth in this. I don't know how to feel about it. I mean, my opinions of Mr. Platner and his comments about black people, his comments about rural white people, his comments about uh women uh shouldn't drink so much then they wouldn't be sad. I mean, to me that was all disqualifying in and of itself, but he was going through PTSD. He claimed without showing any evidence of that whatsoever. And then he claimed when he was caught, he said, "Well, that was a bad time for me until it came out that he actually made those statements 10 years after he said he made made them because there's a time stamp on Reddit."

[01:37:30]>> Well, now he apparently uh was also sexing uh anywhere. I've I've seen two reports, a minimum of six, a maximum of 12 women.

[01:37:41]I don't believe this in and of itself is disqualifying, but I would like other people's opinions on that because his wife has forgiven him and they've had marriage counseling. And I'm a big believer that, you know, this is more of a husband and wife issue than it should be for the voters. But I could be wrong on that. And the problem that I have with this is my gosh, he may get by this time, but how many more shoes have to drop with this guy? Look, it's great to have a candidate that that people fall in love with. And I'm going to make a mild criticism of progressives cuz they seem to do it the most. They fall in love with somebody without vetting them.

[01:38:26]A candidate needs to be vetted. You need to look and oh, he's new. He's If we'd have vetted John Federman, he wouldn't be senator right now. Nobody vetted that guy. Oh, he's the end thing. Look, he wears hoodies. He's a man of the people.

[01:38:42]You know the And it's been the same with Platner, who by the way went to Hotchkiss, so he comes from a rich family. That's so that's that was all [ __ ] too. U we got to vet these people, but I want to know if you guys think that this latest thing is a bombshell or is it a media created story that isn't that important? I honestly don't know. I want other people's opinions.

[01:41:58]Do I personally think that means he I mean I wouldn't be taking I wouldn't take marriage advice from from Graham Platiner ever. I I wouldn't even take Yeah.

[01:42:17]I guess a follow-up question to that is are we going to elect another John Federman here? Is he John Federman round two coming up?

[01:42:28]You know, >> that's why it gives me that feeling is because unfortunately outside of all the moral and ethical [ __ ] out of all the candidates, god damn it. Well, okay. And let me ask this because this is this is where it this is where I I I wonder and and I guess this is when it comes to this this conversation. So, no one would consider uh what's his face the guy who left uh this the the House of Representatives after that whole thing came out. Um, >> so well, >> so well, yeah. [01:43:24]Um, his voting record at least in general was was better than anyone on the Republican side. And this is where this is why it gets hard because I think I I have an internal battle between the fact that morally I find him kind of repulsive too.

[01:43:52]But, you know, I guess there's this part of me makes me glad I don't live in Maine that sits here and go, is is he still is he better than Susan Collins?

[01:44:10]And that's exactly the thing I'm struggling with. Um, and you know, to put it in purely political terms, if we don't take the main seat, we have no chance of taking the Senate.

[01:44:24]You know, we we're out. We're we're knocked out. You know, we may pull up pull pull off Texas, and what good does it do us if we lose Maine? You know, we're out. Um, I I just The other thing that worries me is Susan Collins has been winning and winning and winning in a blue state for a long time.

[01:44:45]And like her or dislike her, she is a very shrewd politician.

[01:44:51]And part of being a shrewd politician is having a very welloiled opposition research arm in her campaign.

[01:45:01]And is she just sitting on 10 more bombshells and it's going to be a drip drip drip thing all the way to November with this guy?

[01:45:15]My problem with people like Susan Collins or or anyone on the Republican party who likes to consider themselves moderate is they will still vote party over the people of their state.

[01:45:35]And I think that is what most of the American people are tired of.

[01:45:41]>> Yeah. We as as somebody who is tired of that, it is I'm looking for candidates who are willing to do country over uh yeah, country over party. People over party and it has to be people over party.

[01:46:00]This is not an easy question and to an extent it's not a question that any of us have to ask ourselves unless we live in Maine.

[01:46:10]Um, I do think we need to point it out and and have these conversations about why uh why we are worried and hopefully this man will I mean hopefully this man will prove us wrong cuz we're kind of in a point right now where he is the he is the nominee like he is right like there's no one else running against him cuz cuz Janet Mills pulled out.

[01:47:45]And you know, now having said all that, uh, I'll accept the verdict to the people of Maine. I do not live in Maine and I accept their verdict, whatever it may be. But geez, I just worry about what the future is. Cuz I don't know, everybody in chat, everybody here, look at your own life experience when you, we've all known people where certain bad things about them have come out. I can't think of a single time, and I'm 69 years old, that there wasn't more to come. Because when people have a pattern of something, that pattern usually continues. It doesn't stop and they become Mother Teresa.

[01:48:25]>> Uh, Philip, what is their situation? So, main situation is they are a I'm going to say this very generally. I don't mean it that that there is like no way out, but it's kind of a dying state.

[01:48:41]um a lot of their you know a major like young people are leaving so they're becoming drastically older as time goes on. Um, a lot of their income comes from um, people traveling to Maine in the summer and lobster and oysters and things like that. And uh, it's getting harder and harder to make a living there. And a lot of people are retiring up there.

[01:49:21]And he he is whether or not you fully believe it, he is definitely he is more a man of the people than than Susan Collins or the current administration.

[01:49:40]Um, it's and they are a they're a pretty stubborn folk in Maine.

[01:49:55]Although I feel like that's a lot of states these days.

[01:50:06]Yeah, people in Massachusetts, in case you're not >> all of you for all of that, >> in case you're not from Massachusetts, just so you know, people in Massachusetts are vaguely aware that there are 49 other states. They just have no idea where they are, nor do they care.

[01:51:27]Um, was he the best choice? Obviously not. Obviously, he's not the choice of the Democratic party. They they they tried to get they tried to get uh Janet Mills to to take the spot instead once they realized that he was gaining in popularity.

[01:51:54]I Let's put it this way. If there was a primary, uh, I would not I probably wouldn't vote for him. And I'm probably I wouldn't vote for him after everything I know.

[01:52:25]We're talking about everything that is wrong with him. And there is a part of me, I can't speak for other people, there's a part of me that considers what the Republican party is doing in this country uh to be an existential threat.

[01:52:50]You still only get two choices.

[01:52:54]If in the end they're going to have two choices. They're going to have Graham Platner and Susan Collins.

[01:53:04]Regardless of anything, I believe that Susan Collins's choice to support this administration for things that have actively hurt her state and will continue to actively hurt those her state for years to come.

[01:53:24]is worse. She also has a degenerative neurological disorder. And as someone with the exact same degenerative neurological disorder, I know how much worse it will get as the years go on, regardless of how good the care she gets is.

[01:53:52]She should not be running again.

[01:53:57]Susan Collins should not be running again.

[01:54:03]Not because I think someone with Parkinson's doesn't have the capability of leaving of leading, but I'm just and and I'm just talking about the Parkinson's side.

[01:54:21]You go downhill fast.

[01:54:26]Everything seems fine and you go downhill fast. And what have we noticed?

[01:54:31]What have we noticed over the last 10, 15 years in this country? How many people that are around the same age as Susan Collins that don't have Parkinson's are still running when they shouldn't and then something happens. How many did we lose? How many people How many members of Congress within weeks of winning or taking office passed Scott? It's It's an insane amount.

[01:55:20]>> Yeah, I'm talking about just after the 2024 election, there were like at least one or two people that that right after they won.

I mean, we we talk about younger leaders and and that is why primarily Platner was was going to defeat her in the primary. Um, and and then people keep voting for older people. Um, you know, and hey, look, I'm old, so I'm not being agist, but my gosh, I want to see younger people in there, too. It's time to pass the baton.

[01:56:51]Yeah. And there's another reason for that. It's not just age and it's not just your physical or cognitive abilities.

[01:56:58]There's there's a certain you go into office with only so many fresh ideas and I think after 26 years in office you've lost those fresh ideas. You have nothing new to offer.

I don't care if they're the smartest person in the world. you run out of ideas or or things that can help the country after x amount of years, which is another argument for term limits. But yeah, >> um so you'd rather someone every week something new coming out about negative about him? How is that any different than right now?

[01:57:38]How is that again? Do I want that? No, I don't want that at all.

[01:57:45]I don't want that at all. If if your answer is, do I want that? The answer is always going to be no.

[01:57:52]>> See, that's a little bit of mindboggling they even say that because of course no one wants that. Unfortunately, is that not exactly what is happening right now.

[01:58:02]>> That's not good. Literally, the current president of the United States talked about grabbing the private parts of a woman because he's rich and he's it's fine for him to do it.

[01:58:22]And that's the person who she is supporting.

[01:58:32]So again, no, no, I don't. And I said, and I said, if if there was someone else running against him and I lived in Maine, I would vote for the other person in the primary after everything that has come out. He may be a good person. He may have changed. I cannot speak to that.

[01:58:51]I haven't had a specific conversation with him.

[01:58:58]>> Yeah. And it's important to note that Susan Collins, you know, Susan Collins is a moderate. Is she really? Is she really? Susan Collins is always concerned about this and concern. I'm concerned with the president's actions.

[01:59:12]I'm concerned about that. Susan Collins is a [ __ ] professional at being concerned. And in the end, she always gives Trump the vote that he needs.

[01:59:23]The only time she's voted against Trump is when uh the Senator Thun or before him, Senator McConnell said, "Look, we don't need your vote this time, so you can be the the rogue to keep your people. We know you're in a blue state."

[01:59:39]You know, she voted for Kavanaaugh. She voted to acquit Trump in in his first impeachment.

[01:59:45]You know, nine times out of 10 when they need her vote, they get it >> because she votes party over people.

[02:00:02]All right, we're near the end. I want to talk about my thing because this was the most hilarious thing. And if you want to have I want I want us to it's been a rough day and unfortunately for uh it's probably still going to be a rough day for for for me but that is what it is.

[02:00:22]Um but that being said I want us to go away with something that actually is pretty is pretty cool to think about. So let me pull it up because I wrote it down because I wanted to make sure I did not forget about it.

[02:00:38]in this for this live. Okay, so in Texas, you guys know they just had their runoff and um and uh Paxton won and he won by a lot.

[02:00:58]So Star County, Texas, it is right at the bottom, right on the Mexico border.

[02:01:07]It is the highest population of Hispanics in America.

[02:01:14]In 2024, Trump won that district by 15 points.

[02:01:20]considered one of the places that helped him win uh you know that showed the it was it was an example of what has hap what happened and the kind of support he was getting from Hispanics in 2024. So they just had their Republican primary and Paxton won that district 73% to 27%.

[02:01:46]You hear that and you go, "That is horrible."

[02:01:54]There are 36,342 registered Republicans in Star County, Texas. Anyone want to take a guess at how many Republicans, how many Republican votes were cast in Star County, Texas, of the 36,342.

[02:02:18]And this is why not mission guys, you took away my Yes. 90. There were 90 votes total.

[02:02:32]90 votes.

[02:02:37]So you see the percentages and you go, "Dang, like they love Paxton in there." No, they don't.

[02:02:49]Out of 36,000, only 90 voted.

[02:03:04]>> Well, let's hope they all stay home in November, too.

[02:03:08]>> Who knows what they'll do? Who knows?

[02:03:10]Again, this is why I say no matter what, this is why these conversations need to keep happening. This is why all of them all of these conversations that we are having in uh in all these different directions are needed because you never know what is going to speak to someone. You never know what information is going to make someone either decide to not vote which could help or you know realize that what they believed was completely wrong. You never know what's going to do that. Um, and as we end again, I I want to just make one last statement.

[02:03:56]And again, I've already I already know I've gotten long long emails and DMs about the choices that I have made and what has happened after this morning's uh announcement.

[02:04:13]Um, if you decide this is not a place you can be anymore, I understand that if I and I also want to say to some extent, not even to some extent, to the full extent, I failed. I know that I failed everybody. The ones that are angry at me now and the ones that maybe aren't. Now, you may disagree with me, but I know I did because it got to a point where that it shouldn't have and I should have noticed it and I should have stopped it and and we if you guys want to message me, I'm more than willing. I understand that mission and that's fine that you disagree. Trust me, I spent five days thinking about this. Am I Am I Am I beating myself up over it? No. No, I'm not. I can only do what I can do. I can only be who I can be. I know where I failed and I know where I can be different. I do appreciate it. I do I do respect the fact the the the views of the of the people that uh cannot be here anymore. They've experienced things that I have never experienced.

[02:05:38]And I I if if the way I am doing things is one that no longer works for her for them. I mean, I say her because I know two, especially if you're over on the tube, uh have already said that they're gone. I respect that.

[02:05:57]Um I I cannot control how other people view what I do and say. I can only do my best to try and and do better every every single freaking day. And all we can do is try and move forward as this this government, this administration um tries to destroy everything and make it worse.

[02:06:26]And you know, maybe someday I will maybe someday someone will say something or do something that'll change my view again.

[02:06:35]Who knows? Probably. We're being honest with ourselves. Probably because none of us have all the answers ever. Ever.

You can talk to whoever you want about anything. All I'm saying is if you ever want if if I'm doing something that is making this community this this live worse or uncomfortable.

[02:09:38]I can't change any of it if I don't know about it because again I'm human.

[02:09:47]I know exactly uh you know maybe not exactly but I have a general idea of how it started and when it started and we're all human. None of us are perfect. But this is where I I I talk to my kids and they see perfect example. I snap at them. 20 minutes later I'm sitting there talking to them going, "Listen, you didn't deserve that. That's on me. Here's what you did to trigger that. Let's work together to make sure you don't trigger me and I don't snap at you and we can live in harmony.

[02:10:25]>> And and Philillip, there are no more mods. Well, there's one. I have one mod right now whose only job is to make sure that the worst of the worst gets taken down.

[02:10:36]Um, past that, it's on me to decide what is acceptable and okay. Um, over time I will probably put bring more mods back on once we figure out once we get to a place of uh balance again.

[02:10:56]But I don't we have a lot of amazing people. I have amazing mods who have done a lot of amazing work for me. I don't want any of you I didn't want any of my mods to feel like they had to stay.

[02:11:14]if they didn't like what I was doing anymore. So, I just I just I I just I all of them it wasn't against anybody. It was actually in my I was doing it because I wanted to respect your to your need uh your ability to make a decision on what's going on.

[02:11:34]Sorry everyone. I know we're talking in vagueness and I apologize. There was some stuff that happened about five days ago. Um, and we're we've we've we're I had to work through a lot of things and we're making some changes and um so yeah, we're it's it's it's a tough life we live sometimes. And uh you know, I used to always joke that life would be so much similar simpler if there weren't so many people in it.

[02:12:08]But this is this is what we're dealing with, right?

[02:12:14]Um it's not just a mods thing. It it's not just a mods thing. It's a I'm making changes and I don't want to assume anyone is going to want to be here because I have amazing mods that um give two hours two and a half hours of their day every single weekday. And I don't want them to feel like they need to keep doing it just because I've need to keep being here just because I make them a mod.

[02:12:40]And I wanted to respect their their ability to decide that this is not a place they want to be anymore.

[02:12:48]If that is the case, if we end up coming and they're like, "Yep, I still want to be here and I still want to help out."

[02:12:53]Then we'll go from there. But, um, I this was out of mad respect for everyone that comes in here every single day and helps out and tries to make this place a place where we can have conversations. And I think one of the problems was it became a place where we couldn't. We could have some but we couldn't have others.

[02:13:19]And that is where I failed. So all I can do is do better. And that is what I try to do every single day. Um thank you everyone for the likes, the shares, and the gifts.
