Shoppers camp out at Galleria for Swatch and Audemars Piguet watch collab

Yeah, today a collab between two iconic Swiss watchmakers is getting a bit of a buzz and people are lining up days ahead of time in the Galleria. Len Cannon joining us now to break this all down. Len, what's this about?

[00:00:17]>> of buzz there, guys. I'm a fan of watches, so I get it. Folks lining up to purchase a collaboration between Audemars Piguet watches, in business since 1875, and the colorful Swatch watch. You can see folks are breaking out the camping chairs waiting to get inside the Swatch shop at the Galleria Mall. These are dedicated and determined folks because the watch does not go on sale until Saturday. Here's a closer look at the collection, the smash-up mash-up of Audemars Royal Oak design and Swatch's vibrant pop line from the 1980s. There are eight variations, all selling for about $400 each. Now, here's the thing what's got people excited.

[00:00:56]Audemars Piguet watches sell anywhere from 7,000 to 300 grand on their own. We talked to a couple of the people who are camping out for Saturday's opening.

[00:01:06]I've been here for like 5 days camping out sleeping. I was just sleeping over there, man. I ain't going to lie to you.

[00:01:10]I woke up early this morning, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and went to the mall and went to go get something to eat. You feel me? I had to put something in my stomach.

[00:01:17]Like I said, determined. Each customer limited to one watch per day per store.

[00:01:21]Folks telling us they believe the resale value on these watches could be up to 10,000 dollars.

[00:01:29]Audemars Piguet is using 100% of its proceeds to help train the next generation of watchmakers. Better get in line, guys. Well, he said 5 days and then he still has until Saturday.
