Priest Killed by Sea Monsters for Warning Troy About the Trojan HorseAdded:
Did you know that in Greek mythology, a priest was crushed to death by giant sea serpents for telling the truth? His name was Laocoön, and he tried to save Troy from the biggest trick in history.
>> [music] >> When the Greeks left that massive wooden horse outside Troy's gates, everyone thought it was a gift. They wanted to bring it inside the city to celebrate their victory, but Laocoön saw right through the trap. He screamed his famous warning, "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts." He even threw his spear at the horse trying to prove there were soldiers hiding inside. The problem?
Athena had planned this whole thing. She wanted Troy destroyed, and this priest [music] was ruining everything. So, she sent two enormous sea serpents from the ocean. They slithered onto the beach and wrapped around Laocoön and his two innocent sons, crushing them to death in front of everyone. The Trojans watched in horror. They thought the gods were punishing Laocoön for disrespecting their gift. So, they dragged the horse inside their walls. That night, Greek soldiers poured out and destroyed Troy completely. Laocoön died for telling the truth, and his city died because nobody believed him.
