Breast augmentation revision surgery can correct implant asymmetry by releasing the inferior base of the implant pocket to allow the implant to drop approximately 2 cm, which expands the lower pole and achieves symmetry when one implant remains too high after the initial procedure.

Breast Augmentation Revision Surgery Case with Dr. Danielle DumestreAdded:
First case of the day is a augment revision surgery. This patient's coming to me from Dallas. They had their aug about 8 months ago. The one held out beautifully, nice shape, and then the other one has always stayed a little bit too high. Unfortunately, their surgeon doesn't do revisions, and so they have been left with this asymmetry that they want corrected. Typically, it's actually a pretty simple fix. Their implant is under the muscle. These things happen.
Sometimes that muscle just doesn't expand in the same way as the other, so I'm going to go in and release that inferior base, allow it to drop. It needs to go about 2 cm lower to expand that lower pole, get that symmetry, and get them in a place where they can feel extremely satisfied with the results.
