New stats Canada figures shows Calgary's employment rate increased slightly in April. The latest labor force survey finds Calgary saw around 11,800 full-time and approximately 6,900 part-time jobs added last month. In total, Calgary's labor force rate increased by 1.3% month overmonth during this time frame. Meanwhile, a report by Calgary Economic Development found out of six major Canadian cities being Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal, Calgary was the only one that didn't see its unemployment rate increase in April as it held steady at 6.7%.
Meanwhile, Edmonton's unemployment rate hit 7.1% following a 0.6% bump.
