And the distinction between being from here and merely visiting here is in the Pharaoh's understanding [music] not a social distinction but an existential one.
The young people of the Pharaoh Islands occupy a position of particular [music] tension and particular clarity that the community has been navigating with remarkable thoughtfulness across several generations of the modern era. The islands are small enough that a young person of intellectual ambition or professional aspiration must [music] leave them for university in Copenhagen or Rekuik or Edinburgh or further for the professional opportunities [music] and the breadth of cultural experience that the domestic scale of the islands cannot provide for the particular and irreplaceable education that comes from living in a place that is not [music] the place you grew up in.
