This movement brilliantly weaponizes institutional dehumanization into a potent satirical critique of India’s systemic failure to integrate its youth into the economy. It marks a significant shift where digital subversion becomes the primary tool for a disillusioned generation to reclaim their political agency.

How India’s Viral ‘Cockroach Party’ Captured Gen Z Frustration | APTAdded:
The honorable Chief Justice of India made a comment on the youth comparing them with parasites and cockroaches just for just expressing their opinions.
So that really disheartened me given that the honorable CJI is the custodian of the constitution. He's supposed to protect uh freedom of expression, but then he's doing something exactly opposite.
So I just posted from my personal handle what if all cockroaches come together.
And on that tweet, I got huge traction especially from the Gen Z that we should all come together and we should start our own platform and stuff like that. So I just made the criteria to join this party you have to be lazy, you have to be chronically online, you have to be unemployed. The same exact words the Chief Justice of India used to insult and demean the youth.
50 lakh students graduate from the university every year. But out of those 50 lakh, only 20 to 22 lakh end up getting a job. So there is a huge chunk about 60 to 70% of the graduates who doesn't have a job.
Which means having a degree in India right now is not no longer a leverage but a liability.
And if you don't address this issues and if you don't even acknowledge it, so obviously the youth will be frustrated by it. So I think this has been there for quite some years now and the cockroach Janata Party has just become an outlet.
>> The name cockroach wouldn't have been there if the CJ CJ wouldn't have compared us with the cockroaches.
And I want to say on that one should know where does cockroach exist. They exist in a place which is rotten.
So is the system so rotten that the cockroach cockroaches are coming out in such a huge number. We have to think about that.
Narrative of the ruling party is that to you know, discredit, defame this movement before it even starts.
By saying that these people will get on the streets, they will cause havoc, they will you know, start riots and they're using really aggressive terms to describe the Gen Z movement. And I'm I have been saying that whatever we will do, it will be the within our rights of constitution. It will be fully democratic and completely peaceful.
Nothing like what happened in Nepal, Bengal or Bangladesh is going to happen in India. Because average Indian youth, these people are preparing for NEET, IIT. Somebody wants to go in research.
Some somebody wants to be a data scientist. Why would they cause riots?
They just want their voices to be heard.
>> We want to form this into a movement or a pressure group which can hold the government accountable.
It does actually concerns the youth.
That's why they have gained so much popularity.
They have you know spoken about all the issues and all like the unemployment and all etc. I guess this party will going to going to do some revolution because as Chief Justice of India commented on the unemployed peoples that they are cockroaches of India, which is not right, I guess.
Because they are not unemployed by their own decisions. They are forced to be unemployed because they are not getting jobs.
>> Uh in my opinion, it just represents the aggression of the youth. And I mean, it's just uh it's a satirical expression of the uh youth of the country.
And uh since like the uh social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter have gained such immense number of followers in such a short period of time. It just shows that uh what the country what the young people think about the current situation and the political uh situation of this country right now.
