This video explores cultural differences between Japan and France through interviews with French visitors, highlighting key contrasts in social behavior: French pedestrians freely cross roads even at red lights while Japanese people strictly follow traffic rules; French work-life balance allows leaving at 5 PM while Japanese culture expects staying late; French people rarely dine alone while Japanese people commonly eat solo; French sushi adaptations include cream cheese and sweet soy sauce unlike traditional Japanese versions; and French people are more likely to steal items like underwear compared to Japan's lower theft rates.

【日本、最高だよ!】自由すぎるフランス人たちが語った本音まとめ。あまりに違いすぎた“日仏の常識”に驚きが隠せないAdded:
Yes, it's the same in France. Okay, I can speak in French.
The food in Japan is really good.
We don't have in France. No, really?
WOW.
I DIDN'T IMAGINE JAPAN IS THAT big because the subway it's impossible to find our way back. Yeah. We did a lot of mistakes to go back home. It was so impossible.
>> Yeah.
But yeah, that's cool. People are nice.
I was scared because of the language.
Like in English it's most of the time complicated, but it's okay for now.
Yeah.
>> [clears throat] >> I think it's the same. Sorry.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, and can I ask your name and where you from? Oh, yeah. Me it's Lou. And my name is Nathan. And we are from France.
Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you.
And what was your most memorable moment on this trip? Me it's Disneyland.
>> [laughter] >> Of course Disneyland. I'm a big fan of Mickey. One day was amazing and the second one we had a raining day. Oh, yeah.
Not perfect, but we did well. That was okay. Yeah. Like compared to your like French Disneyland, how was the difference?
Uh less sensation like >> Yeah, we prefer the sensation in Disneyland Paris.
But the All the landscape and everything here it's like >> everything.
>> it was wonderful.
>> Amazing here. Yeah. Like I heard that you have like Les Misérables attraction, right? Like the Les Misérables ride.
Which one? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, that's really similar to which one? Peter Pan here. Yeah, yeah.
It was almost the same.
>> Approximately the same the same idea, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Like many Japanese people want to go to Disneyland in France just for go to the Les Misérables Oh, really?
Here all the attraction with video and everything it's better in Japan. And was there anything that surprised you or I felt a bit strange about Japan? Uh the respect of the pedestrian crossing. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. In France, even if it's red Yeah, we can cross the road.
Don't say >> if Yeah, it's legal. It's legal. It's not It's normal. It's normal. Oh, really?
Everyone does it. Yeah, they run on the street and everything. When we see right right left, there is no one. Yeah. We just cross the road. But here there is no no car, you stay you stay straight you stay We stay yeah.
>> So that's respect and that that's cool.
And what's the most different compared to your country? I think the How's the food?
>> [laughter] >> Oh yeah, of course. The food and we don't live in Paris. We live in a smallest town. So that's more calm here in Tokyo, especially.
It's full of people everywhere.
So Yeah, but I miss the cheese of France. Oh yeah. It's incredible.
So what type of cheese do you like the most? Uh do you know Camembert? Yeah, cheese with with a lot of taste.
I love Camembert. Maybe Japan's Camembert and your one is very different. Yeah, it's not the same one.
Yeah, a lot of taste in France and like it's a type of salami, too. I don't know if you know it. Saucisson. Saucisson. Oh Oh my god.
>> [laughter] >> That's Yeah, it's my favorite food ever.
Have you also tried the wine in Japan?
Not yet, no. Oh no, no. I don't drink a lot of alcohol, so Me, I tried beer.
That was pretty okay. The beer are really good here. And when you walk around Japan, was there anything that you made think like I wish we had this in my country?
I think like you said, for the food, the cheese, like Camembert.
>> Where is our Japan? Yeah, yeah. You want to bring it to Ah, okay. I want to bring in Japan. Uh the respect, I think. All the people are so respectful here. Or maybe in the in the subway, in the metro. Yeah. Maybe in the metro in the subway uh quiet. In France in the bus, in the subway, in the train how people on the phone they scream, they speak high. I think the respect you have in all the circumstances.
I think it's a really really good good thing.
Thanks for telling us that.
Anyway the Japan is really really uh uh important in France. Really really With with the anime, manga, all just with the food. We have so many sushi in France.
It's really disgusting.
Yeah in France the sushi is really disgusting.
>> Maki and sushi in France chicken uh chicken Yeah chicken This is our This is our salad. You know what I mean?
Yeah. It's like maki. What? Yeah [laughter] we have the We have the banana maki with Nutella.
Oh my god. Yeah he like it.
>> Yeah.
>> [laughter] >> I'm going to be honest. I I really shame but I like it. The popular maki in France is salmon with cream cheese.
The basically it's so popular. And we have the the sushi really sushi but we have a lot of cream cheese on top. I think >> [laughter] >> It's a little bit disgusting. Yeah. Yeah yeah I can imagine what that must taste like with soy sauce. Yeah. That's Do you prefer the sweet or the salted soy sauce?
The salted. I prefer the regular soy sauce.
>> The regular regular Now we and French people like sweet. Yeah. sweet soy sauce yeah I didn't know there was a sweet soy sauce. bitter I I don't like it. sweet soy sauce No no no.
just like regular soy sauce yeah soy sauce French people It's It's popular in France. Yeah the sugar, yeah. What? I don't like it.
I like it.
I like mix the salted and sweets.
Sometimes Japanese people seems to be very cold people. No. Um, do you feel that? No. No, really not. Really not. We We really enjoyed every moment with Japanese people. For example, we went in Chichibu and in Chichibu we went into a bar and everybody like was We were like singing with people. We were enjoying drinking together. They were super, you know, nice with us. Even if we don't know them, they are really super nice.
And last time we went, it was the same.
So, now we really enjoy Japanese people.
I'm very glad to hear that. Yeah, you can be glad. You can be glad because they are awesome. We really want to come back more often because we we like And how how do you do you meet you you?
Matching app.
>> [laughter] >> He's like I'm He's He's just joking. He He said dating apps.
>> [laughter] >> That's a joke. That's a very good joke. That's a very good joke.
You can say nande yanen, right? Nande yanen. Nande yanen. Nande yanen. Nande yanen. Kishot, it's a incredible store.
Mhm. We don't have in France. No, really?
Wow. There's everything. You can buy a a baggage or >> [laughter] >> a sweet luggage or sweet or tanga.
You know what? Sometimes the the girls or the ladies in in Japan are are are drying their underwear. In the in the Uh, in the outside outside and is it true that people like steal them?
>> [laughter] >> Incredible.
So, is it not normal to have a underwear in the outside?
>> [laughter] >> Is it normal? In France?
Yes, but nobody Nobody steals. Well, that's that's funny because in France, people steal a lot of stuff. Like a lot.
Much more than in Japan. So, good stuff.
Uh, stuff c'est des choses. So, they don't care about like underwear. The underwear? No, they don't care. Okay, more about like money. Yeah, more about money or what It's a dried fruit. Can you guess what fruit this is?
Can I try? Yeah, of course. Let's try.
It's very good. What's the name of this?
Um persimmon. Persimmon. Persimmon?
Yeah, per- persimmon. Persimmon, okay.
Kaki in French. Oh. The name of the fruit. Oh, really? It's the same. Mhm.
Yeah, yeah, this one. Yeah.
I think that's the biggest difference is with the work life because in France the work is really separated from the personal life and you can really cut if you want to. That obviously depends on your job position, but if you want to go back to your place and just leave at 5:00, it's okay. Most of the persons don't a 9:00 to 5:00 job, which is not quite true in Japan from what we see.
Yes, you can leave. In Japan you you have to stay late and if you don't, it's going to be weird for the company. So, and so I think that's also why French people are more with their family.
And we don't have the same problems.
And I think they have more time for their own lives. Yeah, and maybe that we are closer to other people. We see more many people and everything. It's quite rare in France to go to the restaurant or the cinema on your own. Most of the time you're going with someone and here we saw a lot of restaurants where you could eat on your own. So, I think that this is what's different. Yes.
In France I don't go outside because I like going outside alone, but you It's weird to be alone in France. So, I just stay in.
And do you have any message for Japanese viewers who watch this video?
For what? Our viewers? Thank you to be you. You are so kind. Yeah. And We feel really welcome here. Yeah, and you also are the welcome in France. Come come to see the Space Mountain in Disneyland Paris.
It's awesome. Yeah, and taste the cheese. Yeah, and in France, if you come one day, there is not only Paris. All the west coast, Brittany is awesome.
Also the south, amazing. So, yeah. Come in the France, too, and that's awesome.
Yeah, and you have a beautiful country.
>> Yeah, thanks for your welcoming, too.
>> [laughter] >> Okay. Okay. Do do three two one.
>> Yeah, okay. [music] Three.
>> [laughter] >> No, it's all right. Okay.
