Murray Rothbard (1926-1995) was a monumental Austrian School economist who authored 25 books and thousands of articles, with his seminal work 'Man, Economy, and State' (1962) ranking alongside Ludwig von Mises' 'Human Action' as a towering achievement in economic theory. His comprehensive contributions spanned pure economic theory, history, sociology, philosophy, religion, and politics, while his four-volume 'Conceived in Liberty' restored narrative history to economic literature. Despite his extraordinary intellectual achievements and influence on thousands of students and scholars worldwide, Rothbard remained an outsider in academia and died before receiving the Nobel Prize he deserved.
