International health cooperation agreements must prioritize national sovereignty and public health safety, as demonstrated by Kenya's resistance to hosting a US Ebola quarantine facility that critics argued endangered Kenyan citizens while primarily serving American interests.

BIASHARA YA KIFO NCHINI KENYAAdded:
How foolish can African governments be?
That the American suffers from Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Kenya, they are rejected in their own country, in America, and America say that it cannot allow people who are suffering from Ebola to go to America, to enter America. In fact, you it is their own.
These are Americans.
But they can be taken to Kenya and America would say it's a quarantine facility where those people who suffer, who have been attacked by the deadly Ebola disease in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, they are treated in Kenya.
Ladies and gentlemen, is the government of William Samoei Ruto importing a deadly disease into the country?
I want you to watch this short clip before we give a critical analysis about this move that has actually put William Samoei Ruto against his own people. You know, according to America, America comes first.
And I've always criticized the American foreign policy.
That they just think about themselves.
So selfish.
They don't care about the others.
And by the way, that is what the government should do.
We criticize them, but that is what any government should do.
Their interest first. But now one would ask, if America is saying about they are talking about their interest, maslahi yao kwanza, why is Kenya not putting the interest of our people first? Watch this short clip here, ladies and gentlemen.
>> Starting today, Houston Bush Intercontinental became one of three US airports playing defense against Ebola.
All Americans returning from three African countries will undergo mandatory enhanced screening. This Houston airport expects to average up to 50 screened passengers a day.
>> We cannot and will not allow any cases of Ebola to enter the United States.
>> In another sign of the growing African crisis, Uganda today closed its border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The WHO has declared the deadly outbreak a public health emergency of international concern. For now, there is no vaccine.
>> Look at this is part of the team that is working on the vaccine.
>> The Trump administration plans to set up a quarantine facility for Americans in Kenya. A former CDC official CBS News talked to called that move unethical and irresponsible because Kenya doesn't have the proper containment facility or much experience dealing with Ebola. One affected American missionary, Dr. Peter Stafford, has responded well in a Berlin hospital to antiviral and supportive treatments. Six other Americans have been transported to Germany and the Czech Republic for monitoring.
>> Atlanta's airport and Washington Dulles also have this enhanced screening. New York's JFK will ramp up tomorrow midnight. And on everyone's radar with all this, international soccer teams and their fans are about to pour into the US for the World Cup.
Now 2 weeks away.
>> Tony?
>> Mark Strassmann on a big story for us tonight. Mark, thank you very much.
>> Who is going to make us understand why Ebola cases should be brought in Kenya? You know in Kenya we have not had the cases of Ebola so far.
No Ebola cases have been reported.
Aden Duale is very very happy saying that the government of America is going to set a facility, a quarantine facility.
And this is shocking if you ask me.
This is the wrong move if you ask me.
This is lack of patriotism if you ask me.
So, I want us to look at this issue and then we ask ourselves, why do you think the government is doing this?
Number one, in my view, is because of greed for money.
Though the American government are going to set uh doctors in those facilities, according to what we are learning, I think such a facility comes with a lot of money.
And this money usually, though it is going to serve the American, you see, sometimes it ends in people's pocket.
Again, I want you to watch another clip here where the Americans are saying that they are going to set a facility in in Africa, specifically Kenya.
I don't know in which county.
Because that would be so much risk. This be This risking people's lives.
Watch the short clip here before >> saying the number one priority of our foreign policy is to protect the American people. We cannot and will not allow any cases of Ebola to enter the United States. And so we're very the State Department and other agencies represented here, the Centers for Disease Control, HHS, others, are working very, very hard to contain this crisis to the countries where it's currently located, particularly the Democratic Republic of the Congo. And so we surged assistance to make sure that that that is being contained there. And obviously, multiple agencies involved here are also very involved in tracking people just to make sure that nobody comes into this country that has Ebola and creates a problem for us. And we feel like we've got good efforts in place to do that, and Americans should feel assured that the president and his administration is doing everything we can to protect them on that front.
>> Number two, in my view, why the government is so willing to allow America to come and set a quarantine facility to treat Ebola.
And Magufuli are not treating Kenyans.
They are treating Americans who are suffering in foreign countries and they are brought here because they cannot be allowed to enter America.
Because according to them, they cannot risk the lives of the American people.
But Kenyans' lives does not matter. Some animals are more equal than others, although all animals are equal.
Now, number two in my view is about 2027 general elections.
William Samoei Ruto wants to be a darling of the American government.
He wants to be in good books as we head to the elections.
Remember in 2022, remember the American ambassador was hovering all over the country campaigning for William Samoei Ruto.
Telling Kenyans that um they had to be careful, especially in Kisumu and areas where Raila had a strong strong following.
So, um it is about 2027 general election. I know that America has always interfered with Kenyan internal affairs.
I know that America has always favored certain candidates and they have not liked some candidates.
And that is why I strongly believe that America would not actually allow Rigathi Gachagua to be the president of the Republic of Kenya. Because if you listen to Rigathi Gachagua, Rigathi Gachagua is a patriotic Kenyan.
He's a nationalist. He's somebody who thinks about the interests of the people of Kenya.
And uh other countries come second.
That's why he he criticizes them. That's why he was telling Kenyans that he cannot African cannot allow anybody to rule for 40 years like Uganda.
But, those of those people who are ready to allow America to come and set military bases, quarantine centers for deadly diseases, they can be allowed.
Or they can even be facilitated and funded for 2027 general elections.
Number three in my view, I think this is a populist move.
Uh I think the government is seeing a situation where Ebola will be an epidemic.
And because many African countries do not have the manpower, do not have the knowledge of treating such diseases, so the government of Kenya is risking the lives of Kenyans because of populist move. Such that when people will be suffering maybe in Eastern Central Africa or Africa in general, they'll be coming to Kenya.
But look at the risk that comes with this.
All the other countries are trooping into the country to be treated for Ebola, and Kenyans are just there. So, although Ebola is not an airborne disease, it's a contagious disease whereby you get after coming to contact with somebody who is having it.
I think we are risking too much in the name of populism.
Number four in my view, why this government is risking the lives of Kenyans is because they are not nationalists.
They are not patriotic.
The The act of statecraft is a nightmare to them.
When it comes to geopolitics, they are just bombarded with information.
We For example, if you look at Kenyan foreign policy, what is it about?
If you look at our foreign affairs minister, that is the prime cabinet secretary, what does he do?
What does he say about Kenya's foreign policy? Where does where do we put our foreign policy when it comes to geopolitics?
Now, in a country where J Ebola machine not to be happy It works.
It doesn't work either.
Say boo, say Ebola about in a while it's on a week. Some few hours you are dead.
I think we need fasts to ensure that there are enough drugs in our hospitals. We need to ensure that our hospitals are equipped with proper equipments before actually allowing foreigners because this is just new colonialism.
And America is one of the most selfish country on the planet Earth.
And they use they're using Kenya as a guinea pig.
Why should our people be used as a guinea pig? Why not use their own people?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is another of William Samoei Ruto's failed policy.
And it is going to backfire badly.
It is going to backfire badly. And this is something that can can unite Kenyans against this administration.
Because, you see, I think in the name of cooperation in the name of what. I think the people have all the reason to understand why this is happening at a time like this when everybody is thinking about controlling or containing Ebola.
When we are crossing borders, why don't we set uh those facilities in for example DRC?
Democratic Republic of Congo where those diseases are already there.
Why don't they set it in Uganda where we have had such cases? Why in Kenya where we have not had cases?
I think Kenya should reject this if you ask me.
I think the ministry officials and the experts have their job cut out.
And make Kenyans understand make us understand why we should have a quarantine facility in a country where we don't have Ebola.
In a country where biological weapons can be used against politicians. In a country where people are abducted every day. In a country where youths and other people who criticize the government disappear.
What would stop the government actually bringing these people who oppose the government into contact with them?
And then they are sick that they have died of Ebola.
Could this be having a political connotation? Could this be a game?
Or could this be a divisionary tactic as people struggle with high cost of living so that they don't talk about the high cost of living, high cost of fuel, high cost of electricity?
Ladies and gentlemen, we need to rethink our foreign policy.
I don't know what you think. I don't know whether you support this. Maybe you can write in the comment section. But from where I sit, this is a big no.
This is Kachi's Corner. Please like our video and have a blessed day. Bye-bye.
