If cancer disappeared tomorrow, humans would only live around two years longer on average

[00:00:00]The reason that I I think working on aging is so important is that even if we were to cure cancer today, we would only live on average about 2 years longer.

[00:00:10]And the reason is that there are hundreds of diseases that we can die from and at least five five major ones.

[00:00:16]And even if we get rid of one, the other four are still going up in the rate to have any meaningful increase in health and longevity.

[00:00:26]Let's say getting everybody to live to 90 instead of 80, we have to slow them all down.

[00:00:33]Not just cure cancer. So, we're working not just on curing cancer or treating cancer. We're trying to cure every disease that kills people at once by tackling the root cause of all those diseases, which is aging.
