Is This The Strategy To Get More Residents Into Homes?Added:
I mean, as you would experience, and I've experienced, fast-growing state, and even with the economic downturns that we've survived in '08 and the pandemic, and when the state continues to still attract folks moving in, which we're really happy to see, and uh continue to grow our economy. Um and, you know, we have and I I don't know the current number, you do, but I think it's plus 70,000 some homes to a you know the exact number or you can tell us, but um so, you know, how do we and these programs are really geared towards kind of closing that gap and getting attainable housing available to folks that that, you know, that want to buy a house. Um but given those dynamics that we have as a state that's continually growing, that continues to attract new new residents, uh and then we have our current residents kind of coming and pushing up and and wanting to buy homes.
So, how's that all kind of balance out?
So, um it's a challenge, and it's a huge challenge, and actually the number that was just published by the National Low Income Housing Coalition is 78,000.
Uh been as high as 84,000. So, that ebbs and flows uh depending on what the uh economy is doing and things of that ilk.
Um the one thing that I will say is there are major steps being done across the federal level, the state level, and the jurisdictional level to support the development of the supply of attainable housing.
