World Health Organization posts update on Hantavirus

[00:00:00]Here are the latest stats on the hantavirus from the World Health Organization. They said as of Tuesday, May 12th, they have a total of 11 cases reported including three deaths. Nine of the 11 are confirmed for sure, the other two are probable. All are among passengers or crew on the ship. They do say they expect more cases given the spread on the ship and the virus's incubation period, which is the time between being exposed to the virus and actually feeling symptoms, which with this strain has been up to several weeks. They do say at the moment there is no sign that we are seeing the start of a larger outbreak. Passengers and crew are being followed up in their countries where the World Health Organization recommends a 42-day quarantine at home or in a facility starting from the day of departure from the ship.
