In the entertainment industry, leadership positions are typically contingent on measurable performance outcomes rather than tenure alone; when a studio's creative direction fails to generate expected viewership, box office returns, or audience engagement, leadership changes become necessary regardless of prior industry relationships or insider support.

James Gunn To Remain at DC Studios After Warner-Mount merger?Added:
So, we have a new rumor and it is suggesting that James Gun and Peter Saffron will remain at DC Studios after the Warner Mount merger. However, I feel that this will be strictly based off performance. So, you know what that means? Things are about to get a little bit spicy, baby. Now, today's news is coming from cosmicbooknews.com.
Shout out to him for continuing to bring the noise. It is titled James Gun Stain at DC. Question mark. It is a question, ladies and gentlemen. New rumor clashes with insider claims. Now, the insider claims that they are talking about is the ones that they have been reporting.
That's right. cosmicbooknews.com for the last five months has been telling us that chatter behind closed doors has been saying Gun will not remain. I just wanted to be fair there, ladies and gentlemen. Okay. A new rumor claims James Gun and Peter Saffron are still expected to run DC Studios once Paramount takes control of Warner Brothers Discovery. But that runs directly against what Cosmic Book News has been told for months. Okay, they put it in the article themselves. So, they are not hypocrites. All right. Scooper Twift T, I believe that's how you say that, underscore, posted on X, quote, "As of now, once Paramount takes control of WB, the plan is still for James Gun and Peter Saffron to run DC." unquote.
The claim is worth nothing because it pushes back against the bigger industry chatter surrounding Gun's future at DC Studios, especially as the Paramount WBD deal moves forward with major Middle East backing. Now, as you know, YouTube's new to it tells us that we cannot read too much of an article. So, I will leave it right there as long as I gave you guys the most important thing about the article. All right. Now, first up, as you know, the 4KO does not like this idea of James Gun staying at DC Studios. Why? because I feel that the man has yet to elevate DC. I know a lot of people will agree with me and look that's fine. We do not have to have the same opinion. However, my opinion aligns with facts. All right, we got viewership for TV shows that is simply non-existent. we have a film that underperformed massively or flopped and maybe an incoming disaster with Supergirl. So, in my opinion, I feel that there is nothing different for DC that there was back what 5 years ago or so. You know, nothing has changed. DC is still a damaged brand. In fact, one would argue that the damage to the brand may be worse now than it ever has been.
That's how I feel. You got fractions amongst the fan base and you don't have someone in charge who is willing to bring them all together. Okay. I feel James Gunn is not that guy. Peter Saffron, I don't know much about him. In my opinion, he does better just sticking to the business and allowing James Gun to make a fool of himself in public. All right, now let's talk about the possibility of James Gun staying and why I said that it would be strictly based on performance. All right, so right now the plan could be to keep James Gun. As I told you before, I was shocked to know that David Ellison wants to keep James Gun. He does. And John Capier said that James Gun does not want to stay. But let's say he does stay and why his performance needs to be better. All right, let's say Supergirl comes out and it flops. All right, this is hypothetical, ladies and gentlemen. I'm not saying I know certainty. I know that for certain, I'm sorry, that the film is going to flop. In my opinion, it's not trending well. But let's say Supergirl flops, then Lanterns premiere and Lanterns fail to gather viewership. Okay, so that would be three flops in a row if you go back to Peacemaker. Well, four if you go to Superman. But since people do not want to accept that Superman is a failure, let's just go with another scenario. Okay, you will have Peacemaker flopping. You will have Supergirl flopping. You will have lanterns flopping. Then you get around to Man of Tomorrow. If Man of Tomorrow does not exceed Superman 2025 or earns less, I believe James Gun will be out. There will be no need to keep someone around who is not making you money. Okay, studios needs to stop awarding directors, writers, actors for failure and it should end there. If James Gun cannot bring the crowd back to DC by the end of Man of Tomorrow, then DC should be doing something differently. Okay?
And I feel like if they're not going to do anything different, then don't do it at all. All right? Right now, we're in this phase with DC where they don't know what to do and they truly do not understand their fan base because if they did, then the situation would not be in front of us. Okay? It would be a given who's going to run DC in the future because David Ellison would be talking about he would be saying, "Hey man, I'm in it for the long haul with these guys. They're doing a good job.
They're bringing fans to the the IP.
They're bringing chatter, uh, merchandise sales, video sales, everything. You know what I'm saying?
So, if you're making money and you're doing the right thing with the property, you should keep your job. But if you're not, if the films that you're making is not doing as well as everything else. I mean, think about it. Project Hail Mary is not a superhero film, but yet it has made more than Superman. All right? You got films like Michael that is going to make more than Superman. Devil Wears Prada 2 could make more than Superman.
Okay, the comic book movie genre should be the top of the mountain, the pinnacle of it all. Those films makes the most money. Okay, they should not be struggling to reach the top 10 in the year that they're released. All right.
So, with that being said, James Gun should go if he's not going to do the right thing about DC. And if he does indeed gets his act together, let's just say one day James Gun say, "You know what? We're going to do this thing differently." And Man of Tomorrow comes out and the 4K goes and watch it and say, "Hey man, James Gun cook with this." Maybe right there he can start in a different direction. But we all know James Gunn is not going to get away from his habits, right? He will continue to write trash. He will continue to put these characters in positions of uncertainty, right? And I'm talking about how they're going to perform. You know, Supergirl, I don't know. I don't know. Right now, we got word that Masters of the Universe is tracking for $25 million. And I am not certain that Supergirl is going to track higher because Masters of the Universe has been trending more. Mortal Kombat 2 has been trending more and that film only managed to open to $38 million. So with that being said, James Gun staying at DC will be strictly based on performance. In my opinion, David Ellison does do better opening DC up instead of a closed off universe. Let James Gun do whatever he wants to do and David Ellison, you can do whatever you want to do. Hey, it's all film at the end of the day and entertainment.
