You have to go to a job interview, be able look into someone's eye and carry a conversation. For the young employees, you need to be a little bit more paranoid about what the future holds because the companies that I now work with letting go of Singaporeans in favor of hiring people in Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines not because they're necessarily more skilled but because they are a lot hungrier and that hunger is now irreplaceable. No amount of enrichment classes will make my children smarter than AI. I'm telling everyone to double down on their relationship building skills. You have to go to a job interview, be able look into someone's eye and carry a conversation. The terrifying thing is now a lot of Gen Z's, they cannot carry a conversation and they can't even explain what they do to a stranger. So that scares me.
>> For the employers, do take the time to have that conversation with your employees to understand their aspirations, the kind of skill sets that they have and better still be able to do a stocktake of the skills of all your employees in your company. Hiring is may not be the answer. Sometimes it's about looking within organization to see if some of the skills are located elsewhere, right?
And then to facilitate the quick deployment of skills, right? And that keeps people happy because they know that oh there are some skills that they can activate
