Turning a critique of totalitarianism into a pro-corporate message is a cynical betrayal of Orwell’s original intent. This analysis correctly exposes how modern media can hollow out classic literature to serve new ideological agendas.

Animal Farm Engagement FarmingAdded:
My husband and I got an early access screening to Animal Farm, an animated adaptation of George Orwell's novel made by Angel Studios. Incredibly well done.
They do a perfect job reminding viewers that Marxism always has and always will fail. That means she didn't spend time watching it uh or even listening to the director because they said it's the opposite. It's a critique of capitalism.
I don't think we have time to hit Animal Farm, do we? We want Maybe we'll hit that tomorrow.
>> Didn't we just talk about it?
>> Uh you know, people out there like Animal Okay, let me keep this really really brief. Okay, so you guys know Animal Farm Orwell, right? It was an allegory for the Russian Revolution. The Bolsheviks, we've talked about them.
Basically, animals take over the farm only for the revolution to give way to totalitarianism. Uh, where have we seen parallels? See the USSR. Now, it's coming out and we talked about this. We were not thrilled with Angel Studios, uh, where it's an anti- capitalist message that has a socialist director who wanted to change the entire messaging. So if people are mad about cultural appropriation, and sometimes I get it, like Matt Damon is Genghaskhan, uh, big swing and a mess. But if you're mad about that, hey, how about changing the actual intent and message of the original author, Animal Farm? That's what's has happened here.
>> Yeah. Cuz what sucks is that people will see this movie.
>> Mhm.
>> Even though it's cartoon, they'll see this movie and go, "Well, I don't have to read the book. I got the message."
>> Yeah. Exactly. And we didn't used to do that. like you'd have some creative license, but it would have to be true to the spirit of the book. At least people felt like they had some kind of some kind of mooring to it. It was anchored in all right, we we have to if if the author was anti-communist, let's not make it pro-communism, but it's directed by a guy named Andy Circus. We're going to get to uh the grifting that is taking place right now. But we covered it when the trailer was dropped, I believe. Uh he said that this movie was adapted for modern audiences, meaning no, no, no, it's okay now. Um Orbel would want communism. I can see why it connected with you. But why was it so important over 10 years in the making for you to say got to do this?
>> Because it it couldn't be more relevant then today. And history repeats itself.
And although Warwell was writing about totalitarianism in, you know, in in particularly in Russia in 1945, 1946, this book holds up as a an incredible distillation of, you know, of of which is why I changed everything, what it is to to to to face authoritarianism and and it's but what we've done is we've we've we've contemporized it. We and we wanted to make it for you know there hadn't been a retelling of this that really connects with um with with a modern audience. So we wanted to we we've couched it in such a way that it feels like a family film but the the themes the darker themes are all there.
They're all present. All the all Wellian you know nature of it is is is incredibly powerfully sort of under the surface but we've we've smuggled the politics in so that so that it's an a debate that can be opened up between young people and families and old. It's really watchable by by by everyone from 8 to 80. So, he just told you it's propaganda.
>> It made capitalism the bad guy. They completely flipped the script on all of this.
>> It's all about corporations and basically Elon Musk's mom or something takes over the farm. I don't know. But here's the other issue is you still have people who claim to be on the right simply promoting this wholesale. And I hate the term grifter because people often just apply it to someone they disagree with. Uh someone can disagree with you and they're not a grifter.
someone who clearly publishes, promotes, pushes, or parrots talking points, ideas, policies that are antithetical to the position they claim to hold. That's where I go, oh, okay, grifting someone.
That's where it's pretty clear that there's an ulterior motive, namely a check. Now, I don't know this person.
I'm not saying that she's a bad person.
This was just a slip up. And we've seen this quite a bit as it relates to Angel Studios. Riley Gaines posted this on X wrote, "My husband and I got an early access screening to Animal Farm, an animated adaptation of George Orwell's novel made by Angel Studios. Incredibly well done. They do a perfect job reminding viewers that Marxism always has and always will fail in theaters May 1st. #analfarm partner."
>> So, uh, that means she didn't spend time watching it, uh, or even listening to the director because they said it's the opposite. It's a critique of capitalism and it's a critique of of westernization. Tim P not noticed the partner hashtag and replied that honest he replied honest question Riley. No disrespect but did you copy and paste this from a sponsor script to be clear Tim P can I we can talk about the inside baseball here right at this point?
>> Yeah.
>> Not all of it.
>> No we >> he turned down a request to promote the movie Angel Studios. We have had many requests with Angel Studios >> but ours went quite a bit further. They wanted us turned out a lot of money. Put it this way. A lot of money because no, I don't really like what you guys are doing over there. They did The Chosen, I believe. And so people think, "Oh, it's a pro-conservative Christian studio."
And then they do stuff like this.
>> Sound of Freedom, I believe, was them.
>> Yeah. There's there's a number of things that Angel Studios has done that very well. David was phenomenally well done.
They did a great job with that. But then they don't think that they're in your camp just because of that. They do stuff like this as well.
>> Yes. And you after some conversations you start to understand a little bit more about the worldview and you're like ah it's not quite exactly what it seems.
>> Yeah. It's a they found a way to make money with a niche and uh >> and a market of people >> and they will use any market available to them to make money. So you're not if you let's say are they did some crowdfunding I think at one point in time. Um it's not like you're crowdfunding or you're you're promoting or contributing to people of your ilk ideologically. Here's the thing. Annual Studios is known to pay conservative influencers across the board to promote movies. Paying influencers is a huge business. 2024 to 2025, sponsored posts uh made up 23% of the $ 32 billion influence industry. 95% of sponsored influencer posts on X are not disclosed as paid content uh at all. To be clear, Riley Gaines did disclose it. Um, >> and this is also the the issue that because I I Riley Gaines tends to take things personally when Donald Trump and that being said, it's fair. Donald Trump was personal. She's like, I don't like her. But >> personal.
>> This is what happens with tokenism. Um, Riley Gaines obviously was affected by the the scandal with bi biological man competing in women's sports and she was a competitive swimmer. She spoke out that required bravery. Great.
But then, and we see this happen a lot where there's someone who is kind of a flash point. Um, they were very valuable and brave for that moment in time and someone goes, "Hey, you should be an influencer. Hey, you should be a talking head." They can't sustain a show. Um, they haven't prepared for this. They're inexperienced and they're given a platform that they have to upkeep and they're not able to. So, the lack of experience is why I think she probably didn't do her due diligence like, "Yeah, hey guys, go see the pro-communism movie. I loved it."
>> She's like a classier hakua.
HEY, GIVE ME YOUR WALLET NOW.
>> I DON'T HAVE A WALLET.
>> WHAT DO YOU mean you don't have a wallet?
>> I don't need one.
>> YEAH, WHAT ABOUT YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE?
>> I don't have one of those either.
>> YOU CAN'T GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE?
>> NO, I can get one. I just I don't like the bureaucracy. I don't like standing in lines.
>> You sound like a liar, which is like one of the worst things to be. Even worse than a thief. ARE YOU A LIAR? HOW DO YOU PAY FOR THINGS, LIAR?
>> I USE RUMBLE WALLET. WHAT'S RUMBLE WALLET? SOME KIND OF VIBRATING SACK OF CASH.
>> NO, it's a place where I can manage my crypto in one spot. It's as easy as money.
>> WELL, THEN GIVE ME THAT.
>> I I CAN'T. It's encrypted.
>> Yeah. Well, how about I stab you until you give me the encryption? Huh?

>> She did a podcast, a Ponzi scheme. She did all kinds of things, but the point is you had this one moment of fame and one moment of something that people latched on to and now it's like now we have to listen to you forever, >> right?
>> Now you have to be in the zeitgeist forever. You don't. You don't.
>> You could get a job. Yeah. And and >> you could do that. You could have kids, have a family, little crosseyed babies, whatever it is.
>> Yeah.
>> She's having babies right now.
>> Yeah. Good for her.
>> Here's the other problem with it. It dilutes. It dilutes your choices where you choose people to support, you tune into, and then the market gets saturated with people who simply either pair at the same talking points from one or two institutions, or they're posting the same sponsored crap out there. in many cases not even disclosing it to the point where you don't necessarily know what's true, who's in your camp. And so I would just advise people, hey, unless this is what you want to do, unless this is a space that you want to be in, and do the best possible job you can to create the most informative, entertaining content for people who can tune into anything. In other words, ask yourself this, why should they tune in to me as opposed to anyone else on earth? I think about that every time we do the show. You know when we go through run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run through we go what are what are we adding here of value what it either has to be entertaining enlightening uh or informative or insightful or enlightening meaning it's new information we have exclusives we create news sometimes um obviously entertainment because it's an entertainment show or it has to be enlightening or insightful meaning if it's a story that's out there and everyone is covering we don't just want to go yeah click like if you agree we want to give you some subtext some context so that you feel more equipped to discuss it this is a problem in media right now and it's a problem that you see manifesting itself in a bunch of people who were liberals their whole lives now claiming that they're leaving MAGA because nothing gets done. We do need to be more discerning.
>> Yeah.
>> Nala Ray shouldn't have a ministry or courses. She's selling online for said ministry.
>> Almost seems like she's in it for the money. I don't know. Uh I on the on the the sponsor thing like I you also just need to do your due diligence. I don't know that a lot of people do that and we do our very very best and I mean like if I send something to Stephen after I've researched it he will deep dive into it and within 30 minutes typically I'll hear like oh the reviews are really horrible on this people have said this about it or there's a really low trust score or there's a you know fantastic product yes let's do it like I've looked into it like it it seems very obvious the way she described the movie she didn't watch the movie yeah because it's like well that's not what it was describing at all it's actually the author wrote that he was flipping ing out the Stalinist kind of Russia.
Instead, he gravitated towards themes of capitalism, wealth, and overconumption.
That's a little different.
>> It's either that or the more more likely, which I think she's not equipped.
>> She's not equipped.
>> I It's no offense, and I don't mean it to be I know it sounds like I'm frustrated about it, but it is kind of frustrating when people go out there in different spaces and talk about things that they don't understand.
>> Yeah.
>> It's like, Stephen, no offense, but if if you did a whole show on baseball one day, I'd be like, "What the are you doing?"
>> Yeah, I know. I would not.
>> I absolutely would not. Yeah, >> he would be my show on baseball. Uh Josh, I'm glad for the day off. Thank you.
>> And even even then, even even I'm like, well, I don't I mean, I don't understand everything about baseball. I'm not that autistic, but you know, with movie, it's like why should I take your >> Yeah.
>> Okay. So, you you should have got fifth once in a race.
>> Was it?
>> What does that have to do? Yeah. I think she won some other ones, too. But it's like, what does it have to do with >> Yeah.
>> movie reviews? I mean we had >> analyzing you know >> and I have to be careful with this for insight. Put it this way Angel Studios there there were studios that came and it would have not just a sponsored post.
It would have changed the entire financial outlook. I won't say angel some studios would have changed the entire financial outlook of this company. I said no absolutely not.
>> That happens a lot.
>> Mhm.
>> Um a lot of supplement companies come in. Uh Kyle Writtenhouse was here and I we actually like we teared up when that verdict came back and then he was here.
We were sitting down talking with him and I remember people being around him and I don't know if they were if they were good people helpful or not but I just remember a lot of people going okay we're going to go to this event now you're gonna speak and uh then you're going to go on this tour and I said look man take some time and uh figure out what you want to do because you also may have like a Nick Santa he did it right you may have a lawsuit on your hands that you can go do whatever you want to do you don't have to be doing this and then they decide to go this way because there are voices in their ear going this This is great.
They're trying to make another Flash in the Pan moment. And I don't mean flash in the pan as though they're talentless or disingenuous. They couldn't control it. Kyle Writtenhouse was there and he he did something incredible and he was vilified for it. But that doesn't make him an educator or an entertainer or a speaker, >> right?
>> And these guys kind of get buzzsawed.
They get chewed up. They get spit out.
It's like a It's like uh child stars only you see it in the conservative movement and sometimes they happen to be adults. They're just thrust into it.
Hey, if you're still watching this, you may be one of the six million or so subscribers uh on YouTube who is for one reason or another I I don't understand it. Still here. So, back in the day, I would say click one of these videos and subscribe. But really, just head on over to my channel on Rumble. Follow me there. I'm live five days a week, 11 a.m. Eastern, and I actually say the things that I mean to say on YouTube. It's everyone everyone here is kind of neutered really and there's just a general lack of testicular energy. But I mean that in a heterosexual way mostly.
