Fans Think GNX Had A Rollout Like ICEMAN?!Hinzugefügt:
Hey yo, what's popping gang?
>> All right, man. So, we are back with another video, man. Thank y'all for clicking on the video. I appreciate the love and support. Make sure you guys go ahead and hit that like button, subscribe to the channel if you're new.
And at the end of the video, man, if you guys really, really enjoyed the content, make sure y'all go ahead and hype the video, man. But we are back again.
Listen, shout out to whoever sent this over to me, man. I was um looking at some things. I seen this was sent over to me and I was like, "All right, this is a pretty interesting topic." And it's pretty interesting because I started seeing this kind of bubble up when people started talking about the numbers, right? So people were talking about the numbers from what um Iceman is doing and then saying and then comparing that to uh GNX and how GNX didn't have a roll out. Um, we actually talked about it because they were talking about how uh Drake lit up the tower and you know what I'm saying, just spent a lot of money on, you know, and and and you know, making sure that this project had the the most amount of eyes on it. And there's no issue with PR and and and stuff like that, right? So, that's not even that's not even a gripe.
Um, but I guess I I didn't even I didn't really know that this was a thing.
People are saying that Kendrick Lamar's GNX used the beef as a roll out. And I'm trying I'm lit. I'm trying to think and I'm trying to see like was it done? Was it was it capitalizing off of the moment?
Could have been, right? And I I I I kind of thought that maybe I don't know if G&X was something that was already in the works, which actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I think it might have already been in the works because even when we go back to that uh that uh Kendrick Bizarre, I think that that's what it was called, the bizarre um um interview that he did with all the GNXs and everything um in that. And I think that was kind of in the middle of everything happening. So I don't know if it was just like he it was capitalizing off of the time period of the beef and then dropping a project or if this was already something that was in the works.
But I guess that's a new thing. So let's go ahead and take a look at the video from the homie uh I think it's Trap Forever. I think it's Trap Forever. Man, he he he drops pretty dope videos, man.
So let's go ahead and see what he's got to say about this. On Twitter minding my business and I see this post. that says, "Man, I wish GNX had a roll out. Those numbers would have been ridiculous."
Numbers, whatever. We had a conversation about that yesterday.
>> Yeah, we we've been talking about the numbers. Like, the numbers would have been ridiculous. Do you think it could have Do you think it could have been even crazier if there was a roll out?
Let me know in the comments. Let me know.
>> But somebody said, "Not like us in the bowl was the roll out." And this is something I continue to see people run with on social media. And I want you guys to know, words mean things. Just because the beef happened and a album dropped half a year later does not mean that you consider the battle a roll out a >> Okay. Okay. That's that's a lot to unpack right there honestly. Okay. So, here's the thing. When will we consider the day the beef ended? Right.
When will we say I I don't have the numbers in front of me, but he's saying half a year. So, I would say four to six months. I'm gonna give him four to six months in between that time because I know how people kind of sometime I'll say four to six months.
Then the album dropped after that.
The Iceman roll out I believe was about two years, maybe a year and some change.
And you think about the falloff, the falloff roll out is a a yearslong roll out until you get the fall off. So he's saying words mean things because this person is saying not like us and the Super Bowl were the roll out.
Wasn't wait.
Didn't the Super Bowl have Man at the Garden in it? Um, and and songs off the G&X. So, I don't understand how that would have been the roll out if the album was already out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the album was already out at the time of the Super Bowl. So, how could the Super Bowl be a part of the roll out? Not like us.
I I just I just can't even see how you can say that's a roll out for GNX. Does that make sense to anybody? My bad.
>> Half a year later does not mean that you consider the battle a roll out. A roll out for an album is a specific thing.
That's why it has the title >> roll out.
>> Right. The battle is not a roll out for an album. Right. Pay attention. Pay attention. Let's >> But I'm I'm going to say this. I don't think that it's impossible for you to you like let's think about like uh but this is that's the other thing man that's the thing when I think about the Joey badass Rayvon I can't recall if Ray dropped his project before or after but I do re I do remember Joey dropping after everything right so I don't know if it's this timing and it's like, "Okay, well, we have to drop now because we got the most eyes on us as possible." You see what I'm saying? Like, let me know. I'm going to let it play a little bit.
>> Is not a roll out for an album, >> right? Pay attention. Pay attention.
Let's think about some of the albums we just got. I'm going to give you guys a few examples. JCole has been talking about the fall off dropping for years.
Now, him talking about the fall of dropping for years is not the roll out.
>> Okay.
>> The roll out begins when he releases the visual, >> right?
>> Right. of him with the Urus or whatever and we get a date >> and then a single drops, right?
>> That's when the roll out.
>> The single was on the album, right? And then he he drops the birthday Blizzard thing, announces the tour and that's his roll out, >> right?
>> Uh Baby Keem cuz he know we knew Baby Keem was coming at some point. He took a hiatus. That waiting period is not the roll out. The roll out began when he updated his YouTube channel. Okay, I'm getting I'm understanding it and I I agree 100%. I agree 100%. But I I I do feel that um what was it? Might delete later.
Might delete later. It's hype. Okay. So, I think hype and and the actual roll out do get conflated because you're always hyping the next project. You're always hype. Even if it's the break, you know what I'm saying? Even if you're on a break and you're not dropping something, you're kind of always hyping the next thing, but the roll out is very specific because there's an action that takes place to kick off the ball rolling in a sense, right? So now him, you know, him uh going back and saying um what Baby Keem did, changing his photo on IG, and then you know what I'm saying, and then there's a single that releases or or something like the Birthday Blizzard releases. So I understand that >> roll out. The roll out began when he updated his YouTube channel, right? When he updates his YouTube channel, then he uploads a documentary.
>> Yes.
>> Booman episode one >> off.
>> We get an album release date. We get Booman episode two. Three. We get announced that there's going to be a live stream release listening party that's on YouTube. Right.
>> That is the roll out.
>> Yes. And my god, we are not talking enough about Booman. I think I I honestly believe people once the the album dropped, people stopped talking about Booman. Boomman as a documentary is I don't care if you like him or not.
Boom man as a documentary is [ __ ] amazing. Like if and again I you know what I really loved about it and that is why it's it's so much more of the roll out is if you did not watch Boo Man, you were in that album a little lost.
Unless you just are, you know, super invested in in Baby Kem's career and stuff like that and you just knew all about him. But that was a key part of it's like it made you >> more connected to the project because you watched Booman W >> live stream release listening party that's on YouTube.
>> That is the roll out. Drake's Iceman, right? The roll out begins when Drake drops What Did I Miss and does the Iceman live stream one, right?
>> Iceman Live stream two years ago, Iceman live stream three.
>> That is the roll out. Then we're going to put this huge block of ice downtown.
You go to the ice block. You break the ice block. You get the the the thing that tells you when the album release date is and stuff. And then we're going to do a live stream listening party into the album release date. That is a roll out. Yes, >> that is Tyler the creators don't tap that GL a roll out co coincides with >> a release date being announced >> uh some sort of visual maybe a lead single labels aren't really doing lead singles anymore but maybe a lead single the creator when he dropped don't don't tap that glass there's a big statue outside of the chromacopia tour then there's a website you go to the website you press the glass it reveals the release date and you start getting a feel for okay the album And then even for Chromacopia, I think we start we were getting visuals like it was the the the marching band and and other things like it was like yo like what's happening and then Chromacopia dropped. So you so saying a song and the Super Bowl were the roll out for G&X is crazy. Especially I we I don't even think I don't know if he's going to touch on that but if I if I'm not mistaken songs that were on I mean yeah wait yeah this the songs that were on the album were clearly being performed at the Super Bowl this day this that and the third this is how rollouts work right >> now did Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle yes did Kendrick Lamar win the battle yes was not like us a big song yes >> not like us released in May the music video came out the 4th of July. The the pop out was Junth. That's June 19th of 2024.
>> 5 months after Not Like Us came out, Kendrick Lamar surprise released an album on a random Friday, which I believe was November 29th, >> right?
>> That is not a roll out.
>> Yeah, >> that is not considered a It doesn't matter if an artist garers a lot of attention, >> right? So, he dropped GNX in November and then the Super Bowl was in February.
Just because an artist garners a lot of attention does not equate to well a lot of people was paying attention to them so that was the roll out. That's not how rollouts words mean things.
>> Do you understand?
>> I think that's the I think that's the overall difference in the ideals of the fan bases. And I hate and I and I think it's it it is becoming way more polar. And um I don't necessarily love that.
But I think when there are facts and there are feelings, it's different.
That's where things get kind of weird, right? Because even the the top comment I see here, it says the pop out. It's like the pop out. Like that's the roll out. like I don't I don't how was that the roll out for I mean there were artists and everything that were there.
I don't know if any of the artists were on the project though now that I'm thinking about it. Um but I like just because there are things that are done in that time span doesn't mean that all of that energy was placed there for the reason of promoting this thing, right?
Like I is just kind of weird.
>> Words mean things. He just dropped an album halfway through Friday afternoon and and and the it was just a single tweet, you feel me? And a a teaser with a song that had nothing to do with the >> Bro, if anything, you could say the GNX um teaser was the roll out. And the roll out happened a few minutes before the project dropped because we were here reacting to that project. And let me know in the comments if you were here then cuz you would have seen how insane that day was. We had almost 2,000 people watching that stream and I had like 10,000 subscribers, bro. 2,000 people.
When Kendrick drops again, I'm manifesting three to 5,000 in here, bro.
I'm manifesting three to 5,000 people watching that. when Kendra drops again.
But we were reacting to this GNX teaser and it was like a minute and a half or two minutes long or whatever and I'm like, "Bro, we need more music. We need more music." And then the comments just flooded. Kendrick dropped and that was it, bro. That was it. Kendrick dropped is the roll out >> [ __ ] album. Anyway, that's not a roll out. That is a surprise release. It doesn't matter what mental gymnastics you do to try to argue that it's a roll out. The term roll out has a meaning.
>> Yes.
>> Like I don't know what y'all don't get about that. The pop out happened Junth.
That was 6 months before his album. It had nothing to do with his album.
>> Yeah. I But I will say the time period doesn't matter. You are 100% correct on the fact that it just had nothing to do with it. The time period doesn't because you can be rolling out an album for two years if you want to, right? We've seen it done. The time period doesn't mean anything. But I get what you're saying.
>> Don't drop it.
>> Nothing. Yeah. The Super Bowl had nothing to do with his album. That's not a roll out. The Super Bowl was announced uh in in uh September.
Had nothing. That's not a [ __ ] roll out, bro. Like Like where's the label doesn't say, "Well, yeah, you already had the battle, so yeah, that's that's the roll out.
there still has >> that's not the conversations that happened at PG Lane, >> right?
>> The conversation that happened was, "Yo, I'm going just drop this [ __ ] on a random Friday halfway through the day.
People going to listen to it anyway."
That's more than likely the conversation. That's not a [ __ ] roll out, man. I I like I'm so tired of people saying that. It's it's that's not a roll out.
>> So, and and I I think that's a great that's a great um dissection of how things went. And I feel like I don't know what it is. If it's if it's the need to make them seem equal in some sort of way, like if it's uh Oh, did this pause on y'all? There's been pause on y'all the whole time.
Damn, my bad, gang. Um, there's no other visual other than him talking, so as long as you can hear him, that's all that matters. But um I don't know if it's a if it's a if it's something to make them seem equal or something like that. Like I just because because the other guy had a roll out doesn't mean that you have to then say that the that Kendrick had a roll out too. Like it just it's just not what happened. If it happened, cool. We could talk about it, but that's just not the way it happened. I honestly believe just that teaser being a thing, I think that's the roll out, bro. He just, hey, this is a this is a trailer and it had nothing to do with the project. All we knew was that there was a car and it was a G&X and that was it. So, let me see what these comments are saying. Y'all can't see this yet, though. Let me go ahead and make it so y'all can see this.
My bad, gang. I don't know why it be happening like this sometimes, gang.
All right, there we go.
What are the comments saying on here?
Says.5% will comprehend the other 95% are lost. They know this, but they don't want to be saved. Let them keep getting embarrassed. Uh they all confusing publicity with a roll out. Yeah, I think that's a big thing is just because something's happening, it gets mixed into being a roll out and that's just not the way it is and it's on purpose.
Stop crying. Um, according to y'all, the battle didn't do this for Kenny.
What is the object of an album roll out?
The object of an album roll out is basically to build hype.
I I just I don't I don't understand it, bro. It's like purpose purpose. The beef happening. It's not like we said, "Let's beef so I can drop this project." The beef just happened.
The project probably was already in the worst. Kenny had been off had been off for a minute anyway, right? You can still have a roll out for a surprise drop, dude. Kendrick framed the battle on culture and used it to marketed the West Coast. Then shortly after did the pop out which was used to promote the West Coast which would fall into place for a West Coast theme album aka GNX.
You just can't argue with some people and that's okay man. That's okay. I'm not I'm not even dropping soon. No wonder why you turn to cloud chase instead of doing hard labor. Uh, the album is the tuck. Start dissing a bigger bigger artist. Drop a catchy hit.
Drop the album and go on tour. Roll out.
Okay.
Just do y'all agree agree or disagree with some of the comments in uh in in the comments below. Let me know. Nah, it was a roll out like Officer Ricky trying to do right now as well. It's a roll out. If he dropped the album before the disc, nobody would have listened. Or if he went away another five years before dropping the deals he signed with the label leading to the beef and album says it all.
Them in them [ __ ] is straight dumb because he dropped that joint out of nowhere. He shadow dropped GNX.
Y'all are dumb. Anything bringing hype could be considered the roll out. Leaks, tweets, interviews, whatever. Even if it's not calculated. Everybody was waiting for that album after the beef.
So, if you want to stay on semantics, it doesn't matter. This is nonsense.
Y'all got to let me know, man. We could go on for forever just reading these comments because there's so many comments that are mixed. Now, I believe purpose matters. I believe purpose matters 100%. I don't think that because one thing hap because one thing happens the it's it's leading to the next thing, right? Not all the time. Not saying that it's not possible, but I don't think that that's the case in this specific situation, especially because they're bringing up the Super Bowl and I I don't I just don't know how you make that make sense. Let me know how y'all feel about this in the comments. This is a good one for conversation. Um, let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Don't forget to hit that like button, subscribe to the channel. Like I said, my bad the video kind of stopped on y'all, but it was just him talking.
There's no other visuals other than what you see right here. So, hit the like button, man, if you guys don't mind.
Subscribe to the channel if you're new.
Like I said, hiked the video. Uh, I will see y'all in the next one. I'm out.
Peace.
