A masterful demonstration of how regional history can be reclaimed to fuel personal agency and modern social reform. It effectively bridges the gap between academic social movements and the practical courage needed to challenge today's institutions.

How Tamil Nadu Has Inspired And Empowered MeAdded:
Apologies, apologies, apologies.
I'm really sorry. I've been away for a while from you, from this channel.
And I apologize for the same that it is actually my duty for the great Tamil race to come around on this channel very frequently and discuss with you regarding the happenings in Tamil Nadu and the entire world.
Talk about the Tamil culture, history, and traditions.
But I have actually deviated from my duty for a while, but for no reason and I'll explain you that as we go.
Hello viewers, vanakkam, namaskaram to all of you. My name is Amit and I welcome you all to my YouTube channel, Layman History and Geopolitics.
So friends, first of all, I would like to congratulate entire Tamil Nadu, the great Tamil people who are actually coming out in great numbers and voting with a percentage of almost close to 85%.
We all know that Tamil Nadu votes very heavily.
But then, these are huge figures. 85% close to 85% is a very huge figure which we normally don't see in the north.
Secondly, Tamil Nadu valiga Tamil, valiga Tamil, valiga Tamil, all of you.
Tamil Nadu has locked a growth rate in this financial year 2025-26 of 10.28%.
Last financial year, it was 11.19% and this feat no state in India has been able to achieve for two consecutive years, financial years, a growth rate in double digits.
Kudos to entire Tamil Nadu and the leadership of Tamil Nadu. We all know that elections went by in Tamil Nadu.
The day when the elections were going on, entire people in India were watching about the Bengal elections. I think I'm of a different variety, different zone.
I was searching about Tamil Nadu and going through the entire news of what was happening in Tamil Nadu on the voting day on 23rd I or 24th, 23rd I believe the elections took place in Tamil Nadu.
The news about Tamil Nadu was just coming on the English news channels.
Hindi channels hardly know, as we all know, are um Hindi are Bengal-centric at this moment. So I was actually following up the news what was happening in Tamil Nadu during the election day.
And kudos again to entire Tamil Nadu for voting in such huge numbers.
Now friends, there is a personal thing which I would like to talk to you about today and it is that I've been away from this channel for a while, but it has not been without a reason.
And the reason is you people.
And when I say you people, I actually mean the people of The people of Tamil Nadu who have empowered me that I'm able to speak up now. And I'll tell you how.
See, it's been around 1 and 1/2 years since I've been studying about Tamil Nadu, reading a lot about Tamil Nadu. My food for thought day in day out has been Tamil Nadu.
All what I do entire day is study. And what I study about is just Tamil Nadu.
The great Tamil race, great Tamil language, mother Tamil language, Tamil Thai Vaazhthu, the Tamil history, and Tamil politics, and the great movements that took place in Tamil Nadu.
So what it actually ingrained in me was the struggle which the Tamil people faced in becoming what they are.
How they become so great.
So it is the people of Tamil Nadu who have empowered me today.
And I'd like to share with you something. The thing is, see, you all know that my name is Amit.
I've dropped my surname.
And that is all due to the great Tamil people, the great movements which took place and which actually told me about the vagaries of caste. I learned about the vagaries of caste.
I'm not an atheist. I do believe in God, but I don't believe in the institution of caste.
Because what it has done is it has actually discriminated against the lower sections of society since centuries.
And this discrimination has to go.
See, so what I was telling was that all of you know that my name is Amit. I've dropped my caste surname.
And what I've realized is again that a person has needs to have his self-worth.
If a person doesn't have self-worth, if it does not respect himself, nobody will respect him or her.
And you people taught me to speak.
You two people taught me to speak about my rights and raise voice about the injustices in society.
And this is what your precisely your friend Amit is doing today.
I actually I started a Facebook page and I live in a small town in Himachal as you all know. I live in Dalhousie.
It's a sleepy small town, a population of something around maybe 5,000, 6,000 people, not more.
We have huge tourist influx during these summer months.
So what I started doing was you go my DP on this channel, on my YouTube channel, and on my uh you Facebook page is the same. So you can search by Amit Mahajan.
See, the thing was that on Facebook they were asking for a surname and it was mandatory. So I had to type in Mahajan, though I don't believe in the institution of caste, all due to the respect for Tamil people and Tamil race.
So you would find the DP same on this channel, that's Layman History and Geopolitics, and on my FB page, that's Amit Mahajan.
So you would be able to recognize me.
So I've started raising a voice in my local area also. I've started making people aware about the problems which we are facing. And I've started holding the our representatives and the institutions, that is the administrative institutions, answerable and accountable for the problems that our people face in this hill station of Dalhousie.
I've become a voice for the people around here and that is all due to the great Tamil people who have empowered me.
And I'm not I've nothing else to say.
I'm just a small person who has become empowered by reading about Tamil Nadu, who got so inspired after reading about Tamil Nadu and got so empowered that he's raising his voice now.
I want to become an institution of change for good for the people around here.
I want to make a change a bringing a visible change in my hometown now.
So I would be in and out now from this YouTube channel for a while. Please don't mind it.
But again, heartiest congratulations to Tamil Nadu and valiga Tamil, valiga Tamil, valiga Tamil, the great Tamil language, the great Tamil people.
It is you who have empowered this small man.
And hopefully I'll bring a change in my society, in my hometown, in my home state.
And I'll be able to empower the people around here all due to your blessings, your support.
Thank you. Vanakkam, namaskaram to
