*Mixtape*’s refusal to compromise its sonic identity for streamer convenience is a bold reassertion of artistic sovereignty over market utility. It serves as a vital reminder that a work’s soul should never be sacrificed to accommodate the logistical demands of external platforms.

Mixtape Is a Short, Brilliant Indie Game That Refuses to CompromiseAdded:
Um, real quick, Nerdy Giant before the stream even started. Thank you for that.
Just finished mixtape this morning.
Rolled credits around 2 hours 45minute mark. Those 2 hours 45 were absolutely amazing. Laughed, cried. Such a fantastic and memorable experience. 10 out of 10. I don't know how you got through it that fast, man. That's That's crazy. But yeah, I I love me some mixtape. If you guys missed it, mixtape is Did I open a tab with it? I think I did. Yeah, mixtape. I I just put out a tweet this morning. Um, it's great.
Sharp, funny, creative. Music selection is phenomenal. Art direction pristine.
Cast is great. It's day one on Game Pass. You can play it now without having to put any money up at all. Or it's 20 bucks for four hours. Um 4 hours if you're like basically it'll have like a scene. You know, if you walk around and look at every item that's interactable, if you have every optional conversation, everything you can get to four hours.
Most people's time is probably going to be somewhere between three and four. But um a nice lean little game and very very good. It reminds me of like those indie movies that you see at like your local theater, you know, that come through every once in a while. Do really well at festivals. It's that kind of thing. It's really, really good. It's really funny, really creative, and uh yeah, I highly recommend it. It's really, really good.
Really enjoyed it. I wanted to do a full video on it, but they um I was supposed to have the the game like a week ago, and it took until like a day and a half ago to get access to it. So, by the time I got access to the game, like we just weren't able to get the video out. But, uh, yeah, really, really good. Do recommend it if you've been, uh, keeping an eye on it.
>> Hey there, Luke. I've spent around 2 hours with Mixtape and I love it. The presentation is beyond gorgeous and it is a treat for fans of music.
>> Mhm.
>> Thank you for the recommendation.
>> You're very welcome, my friend. I'm glad you played it and it is very good. It is. Mixtape, as the name would suggest, is very reliant on the music that they have in that that game, and it is all fantastically selected. I mean, it's really good, but people were suggesting that there was some like problem with them not having a streamer mode. There were some streamers who got like actually peeved that there was no streamer mode. If you somehow don't know, streamer mode is just a version of the game that has copyrighted music turned off, so they replace it with other music that's more generic or something. Um, I think that's the first time I've ever seen his face actually, Simon Cotti. Um, but like that people were upset about it and I'm like, bro, it's literally the game. Like the game is the music. That's kind of the whole point of the game is the music. Um, and when you play it, you'll see what I mean. But like the entire game is the music. So getting rid of the music that's licensed would be like it just doesn't work. It It's like doing layiz without music. It would be like doing doing um like trying to play baseball without any balls. It just doesn't work.
It's like that's what the game is, man.
It's also like the characters introduce the songs like oh and this song is blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and it evokes this emotion blah blah like they'll introduce it in a funny way.
It's in the script so you can't just cut it. And I think when people play it they'll understand why you couldn't just replace that with like generic like whatever music. And frankly, honestly, I'm kind of glad that there's a game like this that is is an experience like through and through um that is is not trying to cater to streamers. As a streamer, I kind of like that it's not trying to just be a game for me. Like it's it is what it is and they are unapologetic in that. And uh it's really good. It's really really good. Jacket, thank you for the two. Is Mixtape anything like Artful Escape in your opinion? Mixtape is very very unique. It reminds me of like Life is Strange with a little bit of like It Takes Two where every chapter has like different gameplay systems and then it's got like a little bit of a Wes Anderson film mixed in there. It's It's very quirky.
It's very unique though and I I really really like it. Yeah. Yeah. I really really like it.
>> Do choices matter in mixtape? Do they have consequence? No, it's not that kind of game. It it is a a narrative game.
It's telling a
