When implementing organizational change, leaders must communicate how the change benefits individual employees (such as increased income, visibility, time savings, or work-life balance) rather than focusing solely on company benefits; this personal benefit communication flattens the change curve by reducing employee resistance and making the transition less dire.

How to Flatten the Change CurveAñadido:
What's in it for me if I do this and buy in and do the extra work? How do I benefit, me the individual? Does this make me more money? Does it get me more visibility from leadership? Does it save me time? Does it mean I get to go home at 4:00 p.m. on summer Fridays? What's my personal benefit? Not is this good for the company's bottom line. That's not enough. Anyone seen the movie Office Space?
One of my favorite movies. As a change management consultant, it's like every joke hits. Remember Remember they put up that big banner, is this good for the company? That's not enough. Is this good for me? And it doesn't necessarily mean everyone's a selfish person, but it means when someone is grieving, they kind of need to know how this benefits them. Speak in the that language. So, if you don't do that work for them, they're going to try to figure out how does this benefit me? And if they can't figure it out, that number basically goes to zero.
They say, this change isn't beneficial.
