FDR's Historic First Flight (1943) ️

In January 1943, Franklin D. Roosevelt became the first sitting U.S. president to fly on an airplane, traveling aboard a Boeing 314 flying boat to the Casablanca Conference; this flight was necessary to avoid dangerous German U-boat patrols in the Atlantic Ocean during World War II.
