Authentic Arrowhead’s Far West types USA🇺🇸Added:
You are looking at one fabulous big spear point here from the high desert of Nevada.
Tell me if that isn't the cat's meow right there.
Yeah, let's look at it again.
Look at that.
Yeah, this was uh this was found by my father back in the uh early '70s up in northern Nevada.
Uh these are uh all high desert points, folks, uh from uh northern California, Nevada, and Oregon up there in the tri- state region.
>> [sighs] >> Uh we'll look at a couple more here.
Uh mostly obsidian, but there is uh there's some dacite in here, and there's some basalt.
So, this interesting point right here, this is basalt.
>> [snorts] >> And it's a volcanic rock that just dried differently. It's molten lava that just uh took on a different form than obsidian.
Dacite is the same thing.
See if I can find a dacite point. I think this one's dacite right here.
Solid gray.
Isn't that a pretty point?
Yeah, these are all authentic, folks.
This was found by uh a marine sergeant from World War II.
Uh him and his wife after the war, he settled in a real small remote location in Lassen County, northern California, north of Susanville.
A little old railroad stop called Termo.
And him and his wife, late '40s, early '50s, went out and hunted arrowheads. So, a lot of these were were uh artifacts that him and his wife found.
I've got it all documented and logged.
Here's a beautiful one here.
Look at that.
That is an old point, folks.
That is a paleo stemmed point right there.
These are all authentic.
Very, very sweet. Look at this one here.
This was a uh This is dacite also.
And uh stemmed point here, real interesting.
This was found by the Vonks.
Yeah.
World War II marine sergeant.
>> [snorts] >> Anyway, I I I picked up this uh I picked up about five frames from that family.
Um Mrs. Mr. Vonk had passed away many years. Mrs. Vonk was in her '90s.
And I was fortunate to pick up the collection before she passed away. Here's uh Let's see if we can look at this one here. We got some banded stuff going here. Look at that.
Yeah.
Yeah, cool.
Yeah.
This is a rare rare type here. This is a uh what they call a uh Cody complex Cody knife.
See how the uh stem of the knife is at an angle here?
And some of these can be quite large, but this is That's a rare type.
That's an Archaic Paleo point, too. Very old.
Uh look at this one here.
Talk about some beautiful workmanship.
Let's look at this here.
Yeah, it's got a little cloudy uh kind of a clear cloudy thing going on.
My father found this one in Oregon.
That beautiful, man.
Um let's look at this big point right here.
Look at that.
This was found in Oregon uh going up towards Idaho.
Yeah, this is a special point.
It's a Wahmuza knife.
Wahmuza, with a W. W A A H M U Z A, Wahmuza.
And this is like in a gray obsidian. Look at that cool bands going on in here. This is a rare point.
Especially one this size. It is just world-class point right there for the Far West.
Let's see what else here. Let's look at this one here. This one will give us a little a little show.
Yeah, that's cool. Look at that.
Yep.
This one's really kind of unusual here.
Look at that.
Found on a desert floor.
And I've gosh, I haven't looked at these in a long time.
The this type I just uh can't remember exactly what that point is, but it's a rare point.
Uh let's look at a beautiful little Rose Springs point right here.
This was from the Vonk collection and that's in dacite type of obsidian there.
I found this one in Oregon.
Isn't that cool?
It's a leaf point.
>> [snorts and clears throat] >> Some of the stem is broken off here.
Yeah, I remember finding that.
Yep. Here's a rare type right here.
Yeah, that might be a Pinto Basin, a really exceptional one.
Right there.
Ah, let's see. We're going to wrap it up.
Look at uh Look at the quality of this point right here.
Yeah, little fracture there off the base.
That's an Archaic point for sure.
Right there.
Which means it's uh very old.
Ah, let's see. Let's try to grab another one. Wow, look at this one.
My father found this one. This is a Cascade blade here, Cascade knife.
And uh this is a I remember when my dad found this one.
Yeah, kind of made his day, man.
Yeah.
Yep, way back in the day, man. Late '60s through this you know, into the '70s, towards the late '70s.
Oh, I'm going to do one more.
Um Did I do this one here? This is a Windust point. It's about 9, 10, 11,000 years old.
This was found by the Vaughn family, the sergeant marine World War II sergeant and his wife up there uh along the Nevada, Northern California border.
Ain't that pretty?
Yeah, Windust.
All right, everyone. Yeah, so uh Mr. Vaughn uh This is he made these frames back in the '50s and uh but he had some great big old Riker frames, too.
But, he really did a good job >> [snorts] >> building these frames here.
Got four of them.
And they're loaded.
So, anyway, I hope you enjoyed that, man. I thought we'd just change it up, look at some uh some artifacts.
This one here, you know, this uh yeah, this one here just takes the cake, man. That's the first one I was showing you.
Yeah.
All right, everyone. Happy hunting.
Catch you next time.
