The only reliable way to determine if you're getting enough vitamin D is through a blood test, not by tracking your daily intake; if your blood test shows low levels, you need to increase your dosage, while high levels indicate you should decrease it, and optimal levels mean your current dosage is appropriate.

How Do You Know If You're Getting Enough Vitamin D?Hinzugefügt:
How would you know if you have enough vitamin D level? It's not based on how much vitamin D you take. Sometimes people say, "Well, I must not have a vitamin D deficiency because I take 5,000 IU per day or I take 10,000 IU per day." It doesn't matter how many IU you take per day. It has to do with how much is actually in your blood. And the only way to know that is by just doing a simple blood test. So, there's no reason to say, "Oh, 2,500 IU per day or 5,000."
Whatever dosage you're taking, that's irrelevant. It's more important that you take that dosage consistently and you get a blood test. Whatever dosage you're taking, if your blood test is low, that means that's not enough. You need to take higher than that dosage. If your blood test shows vitamin D level to be high or excessive, then that means whatever that dosage is too much. Then you need to take you actually less than that. If your vitamin D level's in the good range, then whatever you take may be just right. So, no need to guess and no need to say, "How much vitamin D do I need to take?" You just need to check your vitamin D level in the blood test and then adjust your vitamin D accordingly.
