So Who Gon Say It | Ep 2 | KORPORATE | THE SIDE THEY DON’T SEEAdded:
Want to know who going to say it? Chella going to say it.
I linked with the Chicago legend Corporate and we discussed everything from his family to his career to his future to beefs and all. Sit back and enjoy Corporate on So, Who Going to Say It?
Mastermind.
Multi-talented.
Calculated.
Chicago's Tyler Perry.
Genius.
There's nobody like you.
The one and only Corporate. What's good?
>> I'm blessed. I can't be nothing but grateful. Thank you. Oh God.
How you feeling? I can't complain. One day at a time. How about you, queen? Um one hour at a time for me.
>> You hear me? It be like that. Yeah. You so special. You know that?
Short bus special or type [ __ ] but you know.
You make it look effortless.
So, watching you over the years from day one, early on, because I was in one of your first skits. I don't think people know that.
It was history my fact. Yeah. That was me, Rico Reckless. Who else?
You?
Family Matters type thing? I don't know.
>> Yeah. You and Rico Reckless was the was child I mean was Sasha in that? No. When nobody in there. Love my real, but when nobody was just me. I was the first. The last one.
>> Respectfully. For sure. And I feel like you don't be saying that when you be shouting out Rico Reckless, but that's a whole 'nother story.
>> That's real. Yeah, but it's all good.
Y'all make sure y'all flashback and check that out. When did it stop just being fun and you realize, "Look, I got something."
Mhm.
Um I know uh people kind of took to the whole Chicago Be Like uh concept quickly.
Um January 2016, I dropped the first uh individual production and it went crazy immediately. I didn't expect for it to go crazy, but it definitely did that. Um and in 2017, I was just like, "Yeah, this is something that I want to do full-time." And I was plotting my escape from my job.
And um November 2017 is when I took that leap of faith. I was trying to calculate it and find the best time to leave, but at that time that's when I learned that it's never the right time. Because even after I left, a month later I lost my car.
A month later I lost the crib. Had to move back in with one of my baby moms, but at that time I'm just like, "Damn, I wonder if I made a mistake." But at the same time I didn't want to disappoint Brazil Mhm. at that time cuz she was watching me. And she was a big fan of what I was doing, so I just kept pushing forward to get up out of my baby mama crib and then like what?
Seven, eight months later, by the end of that year I had got my first big YouTube check and it was up from there.
I know that's right. How much was it?
14K. Oh yeah.
I know that's right.
>> For sure. That's crazy. What did you go buy as soon as you got your first check?
I put that deposit down for my apartment. I had got me a decent little apartment on 70th and Paxton. It was 70th and Paxton.
Uh spacious.
You know, over east it's hard to get parking. Like you have after a certain time that parking is over with, but they had um parking in the back, so I'm all this decent. Um I believe it was 1,100 square feet. Okay.
>> It was 1,100 sq. ft and I'm like, "Oh, that's decent." And I was able to get furniture, G. Okay.
>> Cuz I had never had furniture. Right.
>> And when And when And majority of my life prior to that, to keep it a buck and a quarter on folks, I was living with a woman. Okay. Mhm. And my clothes was coming out of garbage bag. Really?
Yeah.
And look at you now. God is good. All the time. How do you stay relatable? So, I I can just from watching you, I can tell like you just always working. For sure.
>> to be because it's crazy just like how you just be producing stuff. How do you stay relatable and know like exactly what's going on? You stay with the times to all age groups. For sure.
>> The people in their 40s, 30s, 20s, teenagers like how do you know exactly what's going on and you're always able to jump on it before it get hot?
Nah, for sure. The internet really keeps you updated for real. The internet is like my workspace. So, it's just like whatever's trending, it just kind of come right in front of me for real. But then, Brazil.
Right.
>> Brazil definitely be putting me on like, "Nah, Daddy, this, that, woo, woo, da, da, da." Like she definitely be knowing.
So, it's just like that in addition to me just being in the midst of the Chicago people. Right. I'm I'm from Chicago for real. I'm I'm around. I'm in the mix when necessary. Right.
>> So, I just pretty much just tell those stories and those experiences real time as they're happening.
>> Right. Even though you don't really be outside like that because you always working. I've never seen you just outside like at a party like, "Okay, I'm pulling up." It's always strategic. For sure.
>> Calculated.
>> Because early in I I um I understood the um concept of the value of your presence. Right. So, if it's like if you always outside, what the [ __ ] is [ __ ] going to pay to see you for? Exactly.
>> So, it's just like immediately I knew what time it was. So, if I didn't have to be out for any particular reason, then I was put up in the crib or to the side or with my kids, for real. Type [ __ ] I'm just looking at your skin. Oh, god.
>> It's like glowing. Blessings. The melanin, the pink lips. What's your skin regimen? Cheap. Um as of recently I've went down a rabbit hole with what you put into your body and how that could even affect your outside aesthetic.
I I stray away from uh harmful dyes that are in a lot of the foods, the red 40s, the yellow fives, the yellow sixes, the blue ones.
Um I don't deal with foods that have preservatives in them. Even with American bread, I didn't kind of put that to the side. Uh knowledge is power. I definitely encourage everybody to just do your research. I had something randomly come down my Instagram timeline regard to foods that are banned in other countries, but we still partake in in the states. And I was just like, damn, it's some of the most common items, like Skittles. You know what I'm saying? We love Skittles, but the amount of harmful dyes, even cereal. On fourth grade, I love Captain Crunch. But then I started learning to actually look at the ingredients. Right.
>> And I'm just like, damn.
Like, and the things that you put in your body can contribute to your energy, um even the aging process. Right.
>> So, it's just like I obsess over, you know what I'm saying, being hydrated. Um Sprite, 7 Up, used to love that.
The sugar intake.
When sugar collects in the body, it can it can do different things. When sugar collects in the skin, that contributes to aging. So, I I've just been doing a lot of research with that.
Um I'm always wanting to stay moisturized. You feel me? Mineral oil is my go-to.
Um that's what I >> [laughter] >> lubricate my skin with. That's the base.
And then I'll put a nice little shea butter, cocoa butter scent on top of it just to give it a little razzle-dazzle.
So, you know, we all get our own little regimens or whatever.
>> Type [ __ ] I noticed you was smelling good as hell when you walked in. So, is that the mineral oil or what type of Is that a cologne? Like, what's going on?
Well, the the cocoa butter, shea butter is just like a base scent, but as far as my fragrance, I really flip-flop between two. It's either the Louie Vuitton Météore on folks or it's Aphrodisiac by Initio. Type [ __ ] Well, I'd give it a 11. Oh, god. Out of 10. Blessings.
I was on YouTube, right?
So, I was like researching you. And I ran across some freestyles that was crazy. Blessings.
You know what I'm talking about? You was like in a freestyle battle and you was going back and forth and like you was killing it.
And I was like, man. So, I went and I checked like all your music, right? And I was like, man, I never realized how cold you was.
>> Thank you so much. I feel like you cold as hell as an actor, but when it comes to music, you are one of the most lyrical rappers in Chicago that I know. Man, thank you so much. For sure. And you know that, too, right? I don't know, question. Do you ever feel like, man, these [ __ ] sleeping on me? They tweaking cuz I felt like that even with me not knowing. For sure.
Um well, I understand why people um are oblivious to that part of me because of the content. It just got so big at a point. And even with me even starting that journey in content in the attempt to market my music, it just got way bigger than I thought it would. So, it's just like over the course of the years, I've been trying to, you know, still put it in there, woo, da da da.
Like, I think a lot of [ __ ] know what's up, Mhm. but a lot is, you know what I'm saying, oblivious to it, but it's just like, okay, I just keep pushing. I got a new album that I'm preparing to release.
My new single, No Truths, is going to be dropping on May 15th, so all you can do is just continue to put it out there, but a lot of [ __ ] they know they cannot [ __ ] with me, and they know that. And [ __ ] know not to play with me with that [ __ ] Don't ever diss me, cuz if you're eligible for a response, you're [ __ ] and you know that.
But in any case, like, I just try to do what I can.
Oh God.
>> [laughter] >> Speaking of response, I was over my homegirl, Korea, right?
She like, [ __ ] come make some tacos, cuz I make the best tacos.
And I'm making the tacos, she on her iPad scrolling, so she on Instagram.
So, somehow she clicked on I mean, I don't know I can't say somehow, but it just so happened she clicked on, and she clicked on Skinbone Laugh, and he had some [ __ ] going on. I don't know what was going on, but all we heard was, man, [ __ ] corporate. And I'm like, we like, what happened?
And we like, and what's what happened with that? Like, cuz I don't know y'all relationship, but I remember seeing stuff where y'all all was kind of like rocking. I'm like, what what made that happen to where it just took that turn like that?
Uh as far as the situation with Skinbone, um I think sometimes you just come to a point where you don't see eye to eye with a [ __ ] um it's just different things that occurred over a long period of time.
Uh I don't really too much partake in the internet activity. Uh so I ain't really had too much to say publicly.
But um that's just one of those things where it is what it is. I'm comfortable with it.
I don't I don't feel bad about, you know what I'm saying, the space that me and Skinny Brown in.
Uh >> Type [ __ ] Have y'all ever talked about it or cuz once he y'all y'all talked about it?
Yeah, we've had some conversation, yeah.
Okay, and how did it go? It's just like, what?
Uh It was some tension in the air, you know what I'm saying? Um but it it just be like that. I mean, it be like that.
Not everybody going to be able to eat at your table, G. And folks saying it's okay if you can't eat at somebody else's table. You know, he got his trajectory as far as where he going and I got my trajectory like even as far as like making it a public thing, G. Like I remember my granny said there's a phrase she said to me.
She was like you can't argue with fools because people that's watching can't tell who is who. So it's just like on the outside looking in it would just look like two comedians or two content creators getting into it. Even though I'm not a comedian, people still kind of a lot of people still label me as that. And I don't even want to partake in that type of um view of me. Cuz a lot of times [ __ ] don't be knowing how goofy they be looking when they get into it in certain situations, you know what I'm saying? I don't want to partake in that.
Uh because in real life I'm I'm just not as playful or humorous as I appear online.
So, it's just like I just go about things a little differently.
Um, as far as Skinny Bone [ __ ] be safe and stay dangerous. Type [ __ ] Would you ever sit down and have a conversation to where it was like you would push it on the floor and be like, "Okay, what's good?" Like type [ __ ] Thanksgiving.
That mean it's cooked.
And it's okay.
>> Okay. It be like that cuz I didn't have them type of situations with me, you know, being Chella and female rappers and, you know, [ __ ] like that. I didn't have people go so far to where it's like it is what it is.
You know, that chapter is closed. Life got many chapters and you just keep going and it is what it is. So, that's cool.
On God. It is what it is.
What's a lesson that life taught you the hard way?
On God.
Uh, This episode of So, Who Gon' Say It? was brought to you by Complex Studios.
That's right. Complex Studios is the number one studio in Chicago guaranteed to cover all your media needs. So, y'all make sure y'all book with Complex Studios right now. The information is below.
Mhm.
The hard way. I know early in my career, I used to feel a way about, um, people not, um, returning the same energy to me that I did to them.
Uh, I learned early that, um, [ __ ] don't owe you [ __ ] It don't matter. It don't matter what you do for them. It don't matter, you know what I'm saying? If it makes sense, [ __ ] don't owe you a [ __ ] thing. Because even whatever you did for them, that was your choice. Yeah.
So, I When when you learn that type of thing like early in, it really help with your journey. Because you'll have [ __ ] that's out here even now that feel like you have to support them.
You have to share their [ __ ] You have to work with them. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, my attitude then being like, you know, if a [ __ ] want to, you know what I'm saying, partake in what I got going on, blessings. If not, blessings. You know what I'm saying? Don't nobody owe me anything, and I don't know I don't owe nobody [ __ ] thing. And a lot of times it be the entitlement for me. Like, you know what I'm saying? I've had [ __ ] I've never met a day in my life like, man, bro, you can't Who the [ __ ] are you? Right.
>> Like, you know what I'm saying? And that's a real thing. And that's a fact.
So. That's a fact. I don't know, G.
I don't mind sharing the knowledge and [ __ ] like that, but it's like, [ __ ] I don't owe you. Anything I do is because I want to, not cuz I have to. For sure.
>> So, I get what you're saying. For sure.
It's nothing like black Chicago be like.
But do you ever just sit back like, damn, if you look around when it comes to actors, rappers, nobody has created what you did? Mhm.
That's a fact, right? Nobody has took the time to keep this going, the momentum, the work ethic, put everybody in your [ __ ] like you did. Do you ever like credit yourself and sit back and be like, damn, I'm that [ __ ] Or do you just feel like How do you feel about that?
Um I'm definitely one of those type of people where I just I work so hard that I just I I end up not realizing how much I've accomplished.
Um or what position that I'm in. I know when I got the Webby Award for the Woop, um I know that was one of the things that had me like sit like, damn, like, this [ __ ] started from a phone. Yeah. And then I logged on to YouTube and just binged on videos teaching me how to use the camera and then it evolved into content that's Netflix ready. Like, you know what I'm saying? And an award-winning. Like, you know, internationally recognized. So, it's just like I can't be nothing grateful, but I don't sit in that place of reflection for too long because I'm afraid of getting comfortable. When you get too comfortable and getting to try to, you know what I'm saying, pop your [ __ ] Like, you know what I'm saying, that's when you can [ __ ] around and lose out because even though this [ __ ] raw as hell and it's been raw as hell for a minute G on fourth grade, it could just like die down at any given moment. Like, you know what I'm saying? People, their attention spans change, which is why even 10 years later, even when I'm finna drop an episode, my anxiety is through the roof. I put my all into every episode because it could just come to a point where [ __ ] is tired of it, which is why over the course of the years I've consistently tried to figure out how to enhance.
Like, you know what I'm saying? Even with making it interactive and just learning new skills and techniques.
Like, um even now I went down the rabbit hole of AI.
And I enjoy making productions and the people don't know whether certain things are AI or not. Yeah.
>> just show that, you know what I'm saying, I'm doing my big one and I'm going to continue to enhance and upgrade, you know what I'm saying, the productions because I just want uh like Brazil told me something. He said, "Daddy, Daddy, you on a generational run." Like, and I just want to keep it going. Like, I built Brazil up. We started doing our our thing at five. And now she's 16.
Like, you know what I'm saying? And now I'm think incorporated Maliah, my middle baby. You know what I'm saying? She just made 10.
I instructed a storyline that is surrounding her. And my youngest baby, Iceland, she just made seven. She follow up right behind. Because Brazil knows that after I'm long and gone, nothing is going to be more important to me than my daughters sticking together.
Mhm. Like and helping one another. It's something that happened a couple weeks ago that was so tear-inducing for me, G. And it's just the smallest thing. Brazil had went live on TikTok.
And um she said her [ __ ] was busting on folks like probably two, three thousand [ __ ] on there.
And they all on there like "Damn, Brazil, when you going to be in the You know what I'm saying? The episode again?" Like "We miss you. Woo, da da da." Right.
>> She instantly whole time like "Y'all need to be on the lookout for my little sister."
She raw as hell. That's what's up.
>> Oh my god.
I know they had something to say.
>> what I'm saying? But cuz that's what matters to me. Like you know what I'm saying? Like my my girls sticking together. And my line is in the midst and Iceland pull Iceland up and they just keep each other together and and they flourish even long after I'm gone. All of this work that I'm putting in, putting I'm contributing to a legacy that could even, you know what I'm saying? Make sure that they Gucci. Type [ __ ] >> I don't want my babies to work a job.
I done worked a thousand jobs, G.
I don't want my babies to have to work.
If they work, it's because they want to.
Right.
>> I'm even in the process of establishing a Atlanta business that has nothing to do with entertainment just in case they don't want to partake in that. One of them don't, then they can just see what's to that.
I'm I'm put on this earth for my kids, G. I do everything for my kids. They are at the forefront of my mind every single day. So, before, you know what I'm saying, it's time for me to leave this realm, nothing is going to settle my heart more than to know that they decent and they going to be decent. And I've had such an impact on the culture and the world and different people that even if, you know what I'm saying, all falls down, there'll be somebody that'll pull them up just because of how I made them feel or the impact that I had on them. Type [ __ ] >> So, it's just like that's just my [ __ ] purpose, for real [ __ ] That's what's up. And that's good you went off into that cuz I was going to ask you about you having three daughters and they like different ages.
You got Brazil, you got Milan, you got Iceland. Yeah. They all got different mamas. I'm like, do they ever feel like, you know how it is with girls? Like, do they feel like territorial? Or was it Was it ever a situation to where cuz Brazil we know the other kids, but you know Brazil was the one that was the first one. When you had the other kids, was she ever like, "Oh, these other kids coming?" Or was it just like, "Ooh, these my little sisters. This up." Nah, for sure. Um with Brazil, she really enjoys being the older sister.
Um and I just love to see her at work with that. Uh Milan is a handful.
And Brazil takes up the role of a young of a older sister and talks to her. Set her down.
Mistakes that Brazil has made, she uses those as instruments to teach Milan what she shouldn't do. Right.
>> And Iceland adores Milan and Iceland adores Brazil. So, it's just like I just love to see the the the way that they interact with each other. Brazil recently moved to Atlanta. Um and that was a very hard pill for me to swallow.
Um it wasn't as a result of any spiteful activity or anything. Um it was just a mother had relocated there and once Brazil got word of the possibility of moving into a new environment uh it weren't really too much you could tell her and I could have put my foot down and been like, "Nah, you ain't going nowhere." But [ __ ] she would have been unhappy. Um so, I just kind of had to bite that bullet. She's flourishing in Atlanta. Um >> So, she just turned 16, right? Yeah. AP honors classes. She's a sophomore. She actually start junior She start classes um college classes going to college next year so that she could graduate early.
So, That got to make you feel good.
>> It's bittersweet.
Because you have to sacrifice your happiness for your children. I I would prefer to have all of my girls with me. So, I ain't even going to lie to you. It's like a heart attack every day.
Every single day.
>> Mhm. Um but you know. They got to live their life too cuz they are their own people despite of what. So, it I'm saying it got to make you feel good that she's going up. She getting a good grades. She ain't in no trouble regardless of what.
It's people who got teenage daughters that's just out here. You know what I'm saying? No matter what, she's still respectable. She getting good grades and just publicly, she has a good energy.
So, at the end of the day, you and your BM pop child [ __ ] So, that has to make y'all feel feel good no matter what.
Type [ __ ] I get it though.
It's just like you know, you you you live your life and your kids. Like, you know, and um not nothing nothing is is been more important to me than to uh keep my girls together. Mhm. And I know that when she when she goes off to college, like, she she has a a new life >> [snorts] >> that she has to start. And um you know, that that that's something different.
So, when she left, um it's like uh I had to deal with the experience of her >> [laughter] >> going off to college sooner than I wanted to. You know what I'm saying? So, um it's it's definitely a blessing for her to uh be flourishing uh like how she is. But cuz she is though.
At the end of the day, I get it. And that's your first baby, so. It's it's it's it's Elijah. Yeah, I get it.
You know, as a parent, like I say sometimes you got to um sacrifice your happiness for your for your kids. Um And and and what they have going on, but uh >> [snorts] >> it it it don't it don't get no easier as as the days go by, but you know, we keep in touch and she comes on the um on breaks. Mhm. And uh you know, our relationship is still what it is, but when you live for your kids, even the most simplest moves like that, they they hit different.
>> Yeah, I get it cuz I got a son, too. Had my baby at 15, but I want to say this. I feel like you I take my hats off to you.
I didn't sit back and watch you for years. I didn't sit back and observed how you handle things with her. I was just in some episodes, you know that. I saw how Brazil was, I saw how Milan was, and I saw their connection, and I just see the respect that they have for you.
And I didn't watch her outside of you.
So, I feel like the way that she handles herself is very responsible. And I'm proud of her, and I'm proud of you and your baby mama, cuz I feel like that's just it's just commendable, like I feel like you popped your [ __ ] G. And you a real super giant, and I'm proud of you.
Thank you so much. I can't be um nothing but grateful. Uh you you you also go through a lot of emotions when you're parenting from a a traumatic place. Um I think a lot of us out here are are parenting from a traumatic place as far as experiencing things as a child, and you and it affects how you parent. Uh my mama that's my dog. That's my rock, you know what I'm saying? My stepfather is nobody I respect more, you know what I'm saying? But my pops is a [ __ ] goofy.
He been a goofy, and I didn't realize until, you know what I'm saying? I became an adult, so that that that makes you have a a different type of passion for parenting, you know what I'm saying? It almost make you kind of obsess about it and certain fashions, like even with me obsessing about, you know, building my children's brand.
I didn't get that from my pops. Like, you know what I'm saying? He was in position to do, you know what I'm saying? certain things, and um Yeah. he just didn't. And it's crazy, you know what I'm saying? KX is in the room.
That [ __ ] >> And Cut water, K. And that's why >> [laughter] >> on folks. And um me and K KX go back like quite some time, like I I had to be in like fourth or fifth grade, like sitting in in his studio when I would come with my pops. And it's one moment that I remember.
I had just recorded my first song. It was called Oh baby and it was at KX studio and I remember KX was in the studio, my dad was in the studio and when KX heard my music he was like damn this [ __ ] good and he was like he asked my dad and he was like what what you going to do with him like you know what I'm saying woo my pops is stuttering like you know what like and now that I'm I'm older it's just like you know what I'm saying like just you know being a parent and not having a certain type of energy like you know what I'm saying to invest in your children like you know what I'm saying that [ __ ] deep that [ __ ] is just super deep so it's just like that in addition to other things it's just affected you know what I'm saying the passion that I have for parenting so it's just like you know I I I have tried to grow my children certain type of fashion and just and sowing to them you know what I'm saying so [ __ ] just get real deep [ __ ] get real deep for my kids but you know I'm aware of what I've accomplished and I'm aware of you know how they're turning out so beautifully it's just you know [ __ ] get out of her G you got some real queens thank you so much I know you got to be proud and I get that with your daddy cuz I watched you on on a few platforms I saw you I watched KB NeNe interview shout out to KB NeNe super love her super genuine when it comes to the relationship with your father I saw how you just was like I'm going to scratch it off the list do you ever feel like okay do my kids feel like this too cuz at the end of the day that's still their grandfather so how's that like Iceland isn't aware of him.
It's crazy, funny as hell on folks. I was I was at my granny birthday party.
Um I love your granny, by the way. Oh god. She one of my favorite people. I'm like, she's so lit. Nah, for sure. Ain't no ain't no other person to play my granny in the episodes, for sure. That's my dog, too.
>> Yeah. Um and she had a birthday party this past November and my dad was the It was like whatever was whatever. We ain't say [ __ ] to each other. You know not to say nothing to me and I won't say nothing to him.
But recently we went to go see my granny again and Maliah was just randomly like it was some guy uh it was she was showing my granny was showing Maliah pictures from the party and my pops is in the picture. She was like Maliah was like that guy with the blue suit jacket? Like I remember him. He was talking about he's some type of pastor or something.
Like I don't know like cuz that's how Maliah talk on folks all the time. She not even knowing that's my pops. Like you know what I'm saying? Like she not even knowing that's my pops on folks grade. So it's just like It's a it just it just is what it is, G.
It ain't no repairing it. That [ __ ] is OV and that's okay.
My my my pops wife's mother, you know what I'm saying? Right.
Mother, yeah. Sweet sweet sweetest pie.
Um she didn't talk to me about it a lot as far as like just making amends and you know how you got to let that [ __ ] go and so on and so forth, but some [ __ ] just too deep, G. Like you know what I'm saying? Some some [ __ ] is just very deep like it's it's it's death associated with that like it's it's it's a lot of it's a lot of trauma with that.
>> Yeah. Um and and sometimes you just got to be careful with with letting a [ __ ] go.
Mhm. Sometimes you just got to be comfortable with letting a [ __ ] go and that's okay and and I understand that >> [snorts] >> uh maybe maybe it's hurting me to to to um hold on to it. Yeah.
But, you know I I'd rather die with that G. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like >> [snorts] >> [ __ ] him. Like and and it's okay. I I went on to be different from him. Mhm.
Um be a better father than he was to me.
Mhm.
So um It's It's It's a lot with that G. It's It's a lot with that and it it's cool. I I've come to It may seem like I'm not comfortable with it, but it's it's just a lot of emotions and a lot of trauma that's behind that, but I'm I'm okay with, you know what I'm saying, acting like I don't know him. When you know, you'll have some [ __ ] that'll be like they they be a certain way or they don't be on top of their [ __ ] because of how their pops was, but the goal is to be better.
Like, you know what I'm saying? And and I've I've succeeded with being better than him.
Even when I was younger like >> [snorts] >> and he was trying to accomplish things and um he didn't even know he he he had his his meal ticket right up under right up under his nose, G.
All he had to do is put that energy into me. Um and he just didn't and it's a W.
I'm richer than him.
He can't [ __ ] with me.
Like, you know what I'm saying? He he can't [ __ ] with me. Um he can't [ __ ] with me talent wise.
Like once again, I'm richer than him, for sure.
Um I'm richer than him. So, it's just like it's just a lot of Ws for that [ __ ] So, it's just like it's it's cool. It just It just go It It just is what it is.
How do Brazil feel about it? Um Brazil, you know, she's older, so she was she was around when I was like struggling with some of my emotions.
Brazil, that's my dog, so she always been on some [ __ ] Whatever you want, that's what I'm on [ __ ] on folks like I remember when I had got my pipe case in 2021, my pops had came up to try to bomb me out for whatever reason. Bomb was already posted, so I don't know what the [ __ ] he was doing, but Brazil had came up there, too, and he was trying to speak to him and [ __ ] and he wasn't she wasn't drawn. And I guess he felt the way about that, but if she she personally know like the hurt that I dealt with with that, you know what I'm saying? And [ __ ] going to go with the home team, so as far as all of them, like they they got other grandfathers. Like, you know what I'm saying? My daughters got other grandfathers that they could partake in.
So, they're not missing out on folks.
So, it's like it's cool [ __ ] Everybody decent. Milano just thought he was a random pastor.
Iceland has no knowledge of him whatsoever. And how old is Iceland?
Seven. Okay.
>> And Brazil, [ __ ] she with whoever I'm with, so we good, [ __ ] So, cuz Iceland seven and Milano 10, right?
>> Yeah.
When the conversation comes about that may come about, cuz like me, I ain't never had no daddy, right? And when I watched you talk about it, I thought about it like my son is grown. He never even asked me like "What happened to your daddy? Do you have a daddy?" You know, so I get it. We never had that conversation to the point that I actually want to talk to him about it now. And he's grown.
What are you going to tell them if they do ask? How you going to tell them like, you know, put it on the floor, or what?
Um Iceland I mean if she asks, I don't think she going to care for real, but if she asks, I give her some insight. Milan Um I think that day I just told her like, you know, he made Daddy feel a way. Some things had took place, so Daddy just don't like him. He just like, "Okay." And Brazil know. Like, you know what I'm saying?
Brazil know. And in in addition to, you know, [ __ ] that I had put in songs and so on and so forth, Brazil has has, you know, with her being the oldest, she just been around to be there for, you know, some of the roller coasters of emotion. Because, you know, it wasn't it wasn't always like that. I was his number one fan at one point. So, it was a process. So, it's all good.
>> Has he made any effort outside of Like I I saw you say where he would like tell people like, "Oh, that's my son."
type [ __ ] As far as the kids, has he has he made any effort for being as far as being in their life type [ __ ] My kids? Yeah.
>> He can't [ __ ] cuz I'm their guardian.
>> out? Uh he ain't got no way. I got him blocked on everything.
>> So, if he did say, "Okay, I know I was a cuz I don't know his upbringing." And I'm not making excuses for him, but with my own personal experience, right?
You know I just lost my mama.
My grandma I lost her. My grandmama wasn't affectionate. So, my mama, just like you said, I decided to be a better father. My mama always said, "My grandma didn't really hug me hug her. She never really said like, 'I love you.'"
So, do you ever cuz I don't know his parenting. Like his mama and his daddy.
Do you ever feel like uh think about it like damn, what happened to him as far as him how was his upbringing with his mama and his daddy? Do you ever take that into consideration? My granny and my granddad, they they was they was on point for him for real. Like life is just choice driven. It don't Sometimes you just end up being who you going to be G at the end of the day. So it's just like that's just what he decided to to do. And I ain't going to lie to you. My granny said my granny probably she was just like you know, she didn't saw some improvement with him or whatever.
But how that how that my [ __ ] son is through with Like it's over with G. Like sometimes it's just over with G. So it's it and it's just like even if he did come to me like man son I take I take accountability for what I did I'm sorry in fourth grade. My mama and that's my doggy. My mama that told me like son like I think she was one of the first people to bring to me like God you expect God to forgive you?
Like you know what I'm saying? Like God forgive you for your sins like and she didn't tell me some things she didn't experience in her childhood. You know what I'm saying? Like you should you know what I'm saying? You should have it on your heart to forgive him. All I can say is easier said than done. Mhm. I ain't even going to come on no [ __ ] like God forgives I don't. Like you know what I'm saying? I ain't even going to come with that type of energy.
All I'm going to say is easier said than done. I get So what I will say is I get it cuz I do get it. But I do pray that over time somehow just for the sake of peace with you, him, the kids that who knows how may how it may go.
So I just pray on that for you because I feel like you know, it's just who knows? Like I don't know.
Okay. But I think you did a great job with your daughters. Thanks.
>> I really do. I see how you handle them.
I didn't been around like outside of just watching you cuz I'm in a few episodes type [ __ ] I'm a social worker.
No, for sure. Recently, y'all make sure y'all go check out that.
>> Oh god. Oh god.
Few episodes on the social worker, Maline. She didn't been put up, now she finna get released in the latest episodes, type [ __ ] Speaking of that, like when it comes outside of the kids, when it comes to the youth in Chicago, you one of the people one of the few people cuz you got to think it's a lot of content creators in Chicago.
You got a lot of them, but you the one who everybody know.
When I be outside, they be like, "Hey, you a whole girl that was in Corporate Skit?" I'm like, "Damn, that's all my [laughter] brother know me from?" Like, "Is y'all cool?"
>> Oh god. Like I put in a lot of work around this [ __ ] >> For sure. But it's it's a fact. Like I be having all type of people all all ages, even my one of the interns was like, "I just saw you in Corporate Skit."
Now he got a whole 'nother respect for me. Uh-huh. [ __ ] my accolades.
>> [laughter] >> What do you think with all the [ __ ] that's going on in this Chicago?
Recently, it was like it's they got this thing where they doing like this teen takeover. Where they outside, they deep as hell, they jumping on top of cars. On top of cars?
>> Oh god.
They jumping on top of cars, they jumping on people. What do you think is something that could be done to prevent them from just being outside reckless? Cuz we was outside, but this [ __ ] here different. Nah, for sure.
Uh resources and opportunity. Um a lot of the youth that are the most misunderstood are the most talented.
They are the most talented and the most capable of doing great things, and that's one of the reasons why I believe in the youth so much. Um a lot of times they're not given a chance and an opportunity. They're counted out before they could even, you know what I'm saying, make an attempt.
If there was more programs and more opportunities for the youth to use their energy for something else, it would lead to improvement in even other areas as well, because now we're putting their mind to work. In the midst of partaking in productivity, seeds will be sowed in their heart and in their spirit.
Right.
>> And then that will overall make them better people.
That's when integrity will start to be built. Yeah.
And this is when [ __ ] is making the right decisions even when they're off and not under the the eye or jurisdiction of um, different adults and factors in their life that usually uh, expect them to be a certain type of way. So, >> Right.
I know I have some things coming up that are going to be uh, addressing these issues and trying to bring some solutions. I never give up on Chicago. I'll never give up on the youth in Chicago. I know things could get better.
You'll you have some people that some of youth that is just followers.
Yeah. So, all they need is to see other people partake in in a different type of energy and they going to follow up right behind and it's just going to cause a domino effect. Mhm. So, I mean, it's just one day at a time with that, but >> Mhm.
part of my whole existence in this is dedicated to trying to improve the the thought process of the youth so that they could, you know, have better judgement on a day-to-day basis and just take more advantage of the the freedom that they're that they are blessed with of being on this side of the wall. Yeah.
And give them [ __ ] the real because a lot of times, and that's nothing against, you know what I'm saying, drill rappers, but sometimes they paint pictures that the youth uh grab onto that aren't 100% accurate.
>> Right.
You know what I'm saying? It It's It's not really cool in jail, not really in there kicking your [ __ ] feet up like Right. even with these youth trying to chase a lot of the lifestyles of some of these rappers, which will lead them to believe that that type of way of life is, you know, it it bring a lot. Well, whole time a lot of the rappers, they [ __ ] up.
Yeah. And this is a real thing. There's a There's a real way to go about things and be in a position to, you know what I'm saying, take care of your family.
So, I'm giving them [ __ ] like the real being in the midst and seeing what's something. I'm just letting them know like, "Nah, it ain't really like this, and this is what you do, so on and so forth." Even something as simple as at some point the youth thinking it's not cool to like learn in school. Yeah.
Knowledge is power.
>> G.
Them kids be [ __ ] up cuz I'm like, "Damn, do they think it's a video game?"
Cuz like, I get it if you 10, 11, 12, but some of they asses like 16, 17, 18.
And the fact is, okay, you see the pattern. You see my homie dead, this homie dead, this homie dead. It's 15 of y'all, 11 of y'all dead.
Do At one point, do you be like, "You know what?
I'mma be next." I feel like, okay, do they feel like, okay, long as I make it to see 20 Yeah. like [ __ ] >> For sure.
>> And it's just sad as hell.
Like all the [ __ ] be going on, it's like clout is a hell of a drug. When they say that [ __ ] that [ __ ] is real and it's just sad and I just be like, man, Chicago is different from a lot of other cities.
And I feel like just from how [ __ ] got on, it's like people just chasing it and chasing it.
And a lot of them [ __ ] they got kids. So it's like, do you be feeling like, okay, [ __ ] these kids, long as [ __ ] know I'm with the shits?
That [ __ ] goofy as hell. So you really don't get no points for that and it's just sad and I'm just like, damn. I wish it was a way that that [ __ ] could be reversed.
But you right, it's not a lot of [ __ ] that's going on for them to for them to do. One thing I do like, I respect this pastor, Pastor Corey Brooks. I've seen him do more than a lot of them over there. And I'm like, damn.
I wish that it was something that could be done. So I would love to see you kind of get involved with that too because it is a lot of kids over there from Parkway that do look up to you and that do respect him and who knows how that could change their life if they had a [ __ ] like you that they respect and that they'll listen to. Even though a lot of they ass don't be listening, but it don't hurt to try. For sure. So I feel like that's lit.
And shout out to Corey Brooks. Um Yeah.
one of my most classic episodes. The on phone now, great. That was at his church.
That's my church, too. On God.
>> I'm a god standing member. Blessings. On God.
So out of all the content creators, not [ __ ] on them, but I think everybody respectfully, they give you your credit. It ain't nobody like corporate. You like the number one content creator in Chicago, right?
>> Same [ __ ] Popular [ __ ] But, you know, um the population of content creators that we have here, like, you know what saying? We definitely be setting the tone and in general, you know, what I'm saying?
And I have been influenced and motivated by, you know, what I'm saying? A lot of my peers in one way or another.
Like even Shakey. I was I was being on his videos and trying to duplicate his success at the beginning of my journey.
Rico >> Shakey. Definitely shout out to Shakey.
You know, you and Shakey came so you know >> He was first. Right, but I'm saying you know both of y'all came to my store. I don't know if you remember. You came to my store. I think you had my line with you. I gave you a wild look. Yeah, for sure, for sure with all my girls on it.
>> Yeah, I did and Shakey came too. On God.
So I like how you show respect cuz [ __ ] don't be wanting to show respect. On God.
>> So take notes. Show [ __ ] respect. But that's a whole That's a whole 'nother subject. But I like that and that's needed because I seen people try to [ __ ] on Shakey. You know, [ __ ] get cuz [ __ ] change, internet change, times change and [ __ ] will be trying to discredit you because they feel like you didn't get to where you could have gotten to. So I admire you on how you do always show Shakey love.
Cuz Shakey was one of the first. For sure. That I seen and Donterrio. Yeah, and Donterrio I don't I into this day I argue with [ __ ] like ain't nobody roasting like Donterrio.
Donterrio [ __ ] be out of this world as far as I'm concerned. Like, you know, what I'm saying? So it's just like Rico work ethic is insane. Rico so funny like is three, four skits every single day. Like he was doing that for so long. Shout out to Rico. He's working at CTA and got up out of the You know what he wanted and he made it happen. Like, you know, what I'm saying? Like and we have all worked together. Jermaine, D Brown, like, you know, what I'm saying? Even big ups to them at they their stand up is incredible. Mojo incredible on the stand up. T Ara >> On folks. Mojo do his [ __ ] T Ara the one that play my mama like she rock First of all, even when we first start work, she been playing my mama forever.
My mama love on folks cuz when I first seen I was like you remind me of my mama.
Like you know what I'm saying? And her acting was off the chain when we first start getting into it. Like you know what I'm saying? And we just been working ever since. Like she been my mama the whole time, but she been doing her [ __ ] too. And she just recently had some [ __ ] on Netflix, too. Yeah. Yeah.
She had a high [ __ ] I ain't see it, but it's crazy cuz my girl Pam was here yesterday. And she was like, "You know T Ara?" And I was like, "I don't know her personally, but I seen the online and she funny as hell." Bro, we seen >> of [ __ ] funny as hell.
>> On God. And the Mojo too, though. And the list of beautiful women that I have worked with over the course of the years including yourself.
Like you know what I'm saying? Chicago just breathe that. So, definitely shout out to my city. Yeah. Chicago is lit.
It's just crazy.
Just how [ __ ] be going, but yeah. Shout out to you. Shout out to all the content creators. Yeah. [ __ ] is lit.
You been getting to the bag.
What's a bad financial decision that you made that you wish you could switch up or change?
When I When When you When you get to a point where you up and you slow down working. Mhm. Low key I learned when you get up you supposed to double your output and um even though that's my favorite Louie.
Yeah. Louie? I wouldn't say it was a bad financial decision, G, but it's just like just overly participating and um Louie [ __ ] >> And material things with Louis included like just yeah, G. I'm focused.
>> Cuz that [ __ ] has here.
5 6 thousand dollar outfits and that don't include the shoes. Like you know what I'm saying? Just acting a [ __ ] fool.
But it's >> So you ain't buying no more Louis? Can't say that. But I am going to chill on that, G. Like you know what I'm saying?
Just chill. Like it's cool. Like you know what I'm saying? And just be you know, just just making better financial decisions, D. And for I got my own clothing line, which I got it on right now. AP. Y'all know exactly what the [ __ ] going on.
But yeah, like just investing in yourself. Like you know, [ __ ] like that.
And I feel like I was going to say that, too. I'm glad that you said that because every time I see you with shits, I don't really see you like that.
But you always have on Louis. No, for sure.
>> I saw you recently and I'm like, damn. I could tell the jeans was thick as hell.
Like the material. I'm like, you like these Louis. And I love Louis, but I really feel like you have one of the best Chicago clothing lines that I saw.
>> you so much. For sure.
>> Like that pink jogging suit I got, I'll wear that [ __ ] out. I was supposed to get another one, but that's a whole another story. I'll go into.
>> the way.
>> But I feel like, man. You just got some raw [ __ ] And I feel like, [ __ ] That's some [ __ ] that you should just wear.
Don't take that [ __ ] off. Nah, most definitely. Definitely shout out to uh Teezy. Um Teezy was like my creative director behind that. I had ideas and he really helped me to bring that to life.
And it was a blessing. You know, you know, it's a blessing when you can get money in your circle. So I just like Teezy was very is very proficient in the fashion [ __ ] So I was able to pay him to help me to bring my ideas to life. So definitely shout out to Teezy. That's what's up. What's something that you are proud of that you did that people don't know about.
Um I don't know, [ __ ] in real life. I don't talk. But I do put my accomplishments in my raps.
So I didn't definitely rap about a compliment. I thought it was dope that I got a um a lifetime achievement presidential award. I thought that was pretty dope.
Um >> Really? Wait, when was that?
Cuz I didn't know that. On folks.
Uh >> That's lit, G. That's the [ __ ] I mean.
And it was signed by Joe Biden. On folks before he got up out of the elevator table.
>> Yeah. But that's the reason to pop your [ __ ] That's what I'm saying. Like I feel like a lot of times you just be so humble and you don't be crediting yourself.
But who else got that? Nobody, right?
>> True, but it's just like a [ __ ] definitely pop their [ __ ] but humility. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like that that is where success lies.
Cuz you get the pie and then it's just like the [ __ ] you accomplish you and the [ __ ] you didn't get to eat you could lose that [ __ ] Yeah.
>> Like so quick. So it's just like I damn near be scared to really be boasting like and um just doing the most because God know how to God know how to humble you, G. And he humble you different. Yeah. Like so it's just like I be chilling, G. We all got to pop our [ __ ] sometimes, but I be I I I had that setting on low. On folks, I ain't going to lie. That's what's up.
I'm proud of you. Thank you, queen.
>> If ain't nobody told you that, I'm proud of you. I think the whole Chicago is proud of you. I think Black Chicago be like it's super entertaining, not just funny. Cuz you said it, Flipp and Sam. I ain't no [ __ ] comedian.
>> Okay. I'm a actor. That's lit. So over the years you keep thick [ __ ] in your videos.
You going to keep thick [ __ ] I know how you think now. Have you and I heard I know you be whooping [ __ ] cuz they be like bro be smashing. All that [ __ ] Bro be definitely Let's see him, man.
>> Bro be definitely whooping [ __ ] Have you had ever had a situation to where it's like, "Okay, I'm a [ __ ] I be whipping [ __ ] whatever." But somebody just got in their feelings and you just was like, "Oh god."
Oh god. Um man, that is definitely a popular misconception that I'm just crashing [ __ ] in the >> Whipping [ __ ] >> Floyd. Yeah, Floyd Mayweather. Look, these are all outstanding coworkers on folks like, you know what I'm saying?
We've been doing this for years, coming together. They've been coming together and helping me to bring my ideas to life. Um any type of situations dealing with um some type of uh uh significant interest.
Um you know, that would have been outside of the productions. It may have occurred at some point. You know, it it depends, you know, feelings can can breed different energy dependence. So, you know, it's it's happened. Five [ __ ] >> Oh god.
So, you know me personally. Like I said, you've been knowing me for years.
>> Absolutely. Longer than a lot of people.
And like with me, people I'm misunderstood. People be like, "Oh, Chilah, she crazy. She this and this and that." What's something that you like about me that people may not know?
One thing that I've noticed about you ever since like, you know what I'm saying, way back is you have a certain type of um presence about yourself that just commands, "You better know what the [ __ ] going on." Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like you when you pop out, it it never gave um you know, someone that's not sure of themself um or someone that isn't certain about who they are. I've always thought that was raw always here about you. Like before I was even made aware of all of the accomplishments and accolades that you have to your name.
I knew you was somebody based off of just the energy you bring in a room.
Like before I was even made privy to what you have done for the culture.
It was just like damn that Chilla she that [ __ ] Like you know what I'm saying? Period. Like that's Chilla. And didn't know what the [ __ ] you did but I know you did something. Type [ __ ] >> So I've always admired, you know what I'm saying? How you carry yourself. Like I thought that [ __ ] was raw as hell like forever for real. Type [ __ ] Y'all heard what he said. That's what's up. I respect you. I appreciate you.
Type [ __ ] I heard that you never ate a piece of puff.
Also Chicago [ __ ] Everybody from Chicago they ate a piece of puff. Am I tweaking?
>> [laughter] >> Is that true? You ain't never ate a piece of puff? I've never had a piece of puff. Really? Why not? Even when I think about childhood when folks used to slide to the whoop and get the da da da da like for some reason I just thought it looked like nasty G.
Like I don't know why.
>> that?
I don't know how to feel about the piece of puff. I just kind of feel like if I wasn't [ __ ] with you before I ain't finna start [ __ ] with you now type [ __ ] Well I got a piece of puff for you.
Oh wow. Imagine [laughter] that.
I don't got it.
Blessing. Nah I'm just talking [ __ ] So look.
We got this game on so who going to say it?
That we call I don't give a [ __ ] >> Okay.
Okay.
What's something that you don't give a [ __ ] about at all? Other folks opinions G. Type [ __ ] >> Like like like how people feel about me G. Like like I said in one of my raps on folks.
Why would I care if you like me if I know my daughters love me like when I say Kane was G on folks grave like even when I did the um it was a a marketing tactic that I had for one of my songs called [ __ ] you bogus on folks. And >> bogus. on folks. And it was me in complete emo. Like, you know what I'm saying? I'm talking about I went extreme. I had the whole woo, painted my nails and everything on folks grave like I genuinely and the amount of of opinions that let me look at the camera with this on folks grave. The amount of opinions that [ __ ] had about that [ __ ] G and oh damn, I knew corporate was woo woo woo woo da da da like and and life G like you have to march to the beat of your own drum G. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, you got to know what you want and and just go for that. The people that's around me, my kids, they love me and they understand me G. The amount of the amount of [ __ ] that I did not give G. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, well [ __ ] in their opinions about man woo. I remember I had a [ __ ] come up to me on folks like man corporate, you ain't got to be partaking in no weird [ __ ] to you know get where you Who the [ __ ] are you? Who the [ __ ] are you? Like, you know what I'm saying? Like I understand me. Never cared if you understand me on folks grave. You got popcorn ceilings. Stop talking to me. Don't talk to me about a [ __ ] thing on folks grave. I never cared about how anybody feel about me.
And with my following G and the [ __ ] that support me G, these are [ __ ] that genuinely support me and understand me G and I appreciate those people like the people that don't [ __ ] with me or don't understand me it's quite all right. I might partake in some more [ __ ] that's really going ruffle your [ __ ] feathers on folks. I never cared. Ain't none of you [ __ ] got to be my friends cuz on folks grave, the reality of it is is that if I would have never had this [ __ ] going on with corporate, a lot of you [ __ ] wouldn't be saying [ __ ] to me or give a [ __ ] about my existence any [ __ ] way. So, now that I'm on the other side of the woo [ __ ] and it's like, "Oh, corporate da da da." and paying attention to whatever woo woo.
Like, the fact that I know that it's a reason that's not even real or genuine why you're even [ __ ] with me in the first place, why would I care for us to be cool or for you to think that I'm great or anything? Oh, folks grave. My daughters love me, G. Brazil did my makeup. Brazil did my eye shadow. She the one did the little whoops on the side. She did my nails, G. Oh, folks grave. Y'all got me [ __ ] up on folks grave. And I addressed this on my stream on Twitch.
Shoutout to uh Rollin' Up K on folks grave cuz I had on the On Guard at the time on folks grave and we got all [ __ ] ass together on folks grave.
[ __ ] had me on folks. I took the comments that [ __ ] bad comments that [ __ ] made, took their pictures and Right, I saw that.
folks and put they they love they love comment on the woo [ __ ] and address each one of them one by one like, "I don't give a [ __ ] about you, G." Oh, folks grave. Anybody that got a little pen or whatever woo woo. Oh, why corporate wearing even This is going back when I had my hair pink and purple, G. I never cared you on folks grave and I actually be completely honest with you guys. I loved my hair like that. The only reason I took that [ __ ] out of my hair is because when you put color on your locks on folks, that [ __ ] get to eating at your [ __ ] on folks and I didn't want to take away from the healthy volume of my [ __ ] on folks grave, but I do what the [ __ ] I want to do. Why corporate got on a scrunchie?
Cuz that's what the [ __ ] I want to do.
Why corporate pants so tight? Because that's what the [ __ ] I want to do. March to the beat of y'all own drum, G. on folks because when you take yourself out of this box that people want you to operate in, that's when you start operating out of the atmosphere. Cuz a lot of the [ __ ] cannot [ __ ] with me creatively because I'm not allowing anyone to limit what I want to do. If it makes sense in my head, no matter what the [ __ ] or however the [ __ ] [ __ ] may take it, I'm doing that [ __ ] So, respectfully respectfully [ __ ] you.
Um, yeah.
Blessings. It is what it is and if ain't nobody going to say it, Corporate going to say it. On that note, I just want to say it's a blessing to have you, King.
>> Pleasure. Thank you.
>> like you are super positive, super role model, super talented. Just like the intro, the outro is the same. On God.
What's next for you? Because I know Black Chicago, them [ __ ] be on your heels about in the comments, G.
Exactly.
>> Like how do you deal with that cuz I feel like you could post some [ __ ] and they'd be like, "Nigga, [ __ ] everything you got going on in life. Nah, for sure.
>> Where's the next episode? That's right.
