The Streisand effect describes a phenomenon where attempts to suppress or hide information paradoxically result in increased attention and dissemination of that information. In 2003, when singer Barbara Streisand sued a photographer for $50 million after he posted photos of her Malibu home online, the lawsuit caused 420 people to download the photo, compared to only 6 downloads before the legal action. This case demonstrates that aggressive efforts to conceal information often backfire by generating greater public interest and widespread sharing.

THE STREISAND EFFECT AT BARBARA STREISAND’S HOUSE! - First Amendment AuditHinzugefügt:
It's called the Strerriesand effect.
We're in Malibu where uh that actually originated. The Streand effect. Look it up.
>> You're going to see the Stryerand effect in action at Barbara Sterand's house. Oh yeah. This is the place right here. I'm sorry.
>> What do you need? Why are you outside our address right now?
>> What are you doing?
>> What business is it?
>> What are you doing here?
>> Malibu City Hall.
>> I just said I don't want to be on camera. That's it. Full stock. You understand?
>> Do you need a pacifier? You need a binky.
>> I'm about to knock you the [ __ ] out is what I'm about to do.
>> You want to call the police on this, man? Of course I'm allowed. I I'm doing it right now. I'm taking pictures of the bank. I'm taking pictures of security guards. Boom. Wait, wait, wait.
>> Oh, there you go. There you go. Oh, there you go. There you go.
>> There you go.
>> Yeah, you can't record me. You can't take pictures.
>> No, I'm I'm definitely recording you.
>> No, we know we have to protect our customers information.
>> Yeah. Yeah. And yet you don't, though.
That's weird.
>> But you're not allowed to take pictures.
Oh, I'm not allowed in in America or what do you mean?
Hey everybody, KT News back again with another video. Today we're in a fancy little town called Malibu, California.
In 2020, Malibu had a population of 10,654 people and it has been the home of just countless countless celebrities. Um, one of my personal favorites might be Barbara Sterand Malibu. Actually, her home here in Malibu is the uh the origin of the Sterand effect. More about that later, maybe in the bonus footage. Uh, but right now we are at, check it out, Malibu City Hall.
And we're gonna start by walking around here in the parking lot, photographing cars, and then we're gonna go inside.
So, without further ado, oh, let's rock and roll.
>> Oh, doing a little story for the news.
Nothing terribly exciting.
You know, I I am not uh at liberty to say as of right now. Um they generally kind of tell me don't don't don't uh spill the beans. So >> shoot the messenger. I got you, buddy.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Well, you have a good day.
>> Thanks. You too.
There we go.
All right. Well, that was quick.
>> Excuse me.
>> Yes.
>> Can I help you?
>> Uh, no. We're really not hiring right now. I mean, if you want to put a uh like a resume on file, I I'd be happy to hold on to it and consider it in the future, but yeah, as of right now, no. I don't I don't need uh any help whatsoever. Appreciate you asking, though.
>> Yeah. What are you What are you trying to do? Oh, just getting some pictures >> for >> for the news.
>> Okay.
>> So, all is well, brother. All is well.
>> I hope you have a great rest of your day.
>> You, too.
Okay.
>> Um, >> anyone else >> in the building?
Do you know?
Probably shouldn't go out in public then.
>> Don't start with that [ __ ] >> Don't start with what [ __ ] Reality.
There you go.
>> Provocative [ __ ] Or you just >> Excuse me.
>> Well, see, now I got to photograph you 10 times as much. See, I'm a Gin Xer.
And you tell me not to do something I know I can do. And then you start calling me names. Well, I'm going to do it twice as long and twice as hard, princess.
You'll learn. It's called the Streand effect. Ironically, we live in Mal in Malibu where uh that actually originated. The Streand effect. Look it up.
>> Did your mommy not give you hugs or what's your problem?
>> Go get a job, dude. Get the [ __ ] out of here.
>> This is my job.
>> What is your job? Does this harass people?
>> Yeah, I harass people. All I said is I don't want to be on camera and then you start with some verbal [ __ ] [ __ ] about some nonsense. I just said I don't want to be on camera. That's it. Full stop. You understand?
>> Do you need a pacifier? You need a binky.
>> I'm about to knock you the [ __ ] out is what I'm about to do.
>> You want to call the police on this, man? Go ahead. I'm standing right here.
Go on.
>> I just said I don't want to be photographed.
>> I don't care. I >> understand that.
>> Get a life, dude. Seriously.
>> Sorry.
>> Yeah. He just threatened to assault me.
That's nice. I didn't threat to assault you.
>> I got to knock the [ __ ] out of you. You didn't say that.
>> I'm about to knock you the [ __ ] out is what I'm about to do.
>> Why don't we go in the conference room?
>> Yeah. Yeah. Go in the conference room, >> jackass.
>> Jesus. What a whack job.
>> What's that?
>> They'll get it.
>> They'll get it. Unbelievable.
All right. Well, that lasted about five minutes.
Well, all right. That was fun. So, the good folks of city hall for the most part were were professional. That uh jackass in the van. Um, not so much, but he's a citizen. He doesn't really have to be professional.
Um, but uh Oh, he's stopping down there.
Look, look.
Let's see.
The guy in the van stopped about a block and a half down here, right by that light.
All righty then. So, we are now currently in Santa Monica. Don't worry, we're definitely going back to Malibu for the bonus footage. You don't want to miss that. Um, Santa Monica though, just a hop, skip, and jump away from Malibu.
In 2020, had a population of 93,76 souls, and it has been the home of people such as Robert Redford and Jam Lee Curtis and Shawn Pin and let's see, Marissa Hargatee. So, uh, lots of celebrities have, uh, lived in Santa Monica over the years. Um, so we're walking down the street in Santa Monica, minding a business, and I'm kind of shocked by the banks around here and how much information they have on display for the public. You'll see. Stick around for this. In the meantime, though, tell you what, let's start right here with uh, the Wells Fargo Bank here.
>> Hi. Sorry. Are you taking pictures of the ranch?
>> I'm sorry.
>> Are you taking picture of the branch?
>> Yes. Yes.
>> Uh I think that you cannot do that.
>> Uh let me see. Hold on a second.
>> Because of privacy of the person inside.
>> No, it definitely works. Yeah. Why would I not Why would it not work? Oh, there you go. You guys do have blinds. Yeah, you're fine.
>> See? And just like that, you notice how he has an accent. It's always the freaking foreigners. almost always. And just like that, they close the window the blinds. That's how it works.
>> I'm sorry.
>> What's that for?
>> Oh, it's for taking pictures. Um, it uh have the photons like bounce off the little thing in here. And yeah, so it's just for taking pictures.
>> For security, don't take the the door.
>> I'm sorry. for sick for our security.
Don't take the the uh um the uh what you call the uh front door.
>> So you feel insecure people photograph the front door. I I that's kind of what I'm here for is to photograph the front door. People coming and going.
>> Yeah, I have to. It's that's exactly what I'm here for.
>> What's that for? Oh, this is for this take pictures.
>> No, no, no, no. It's uh for the news. I >> I'll tell my super my uh manager.
>> All righty.
He said he's going to tell his manager.
Got a cam back there.
Hey, man. Hey, we got to go, brother.
>> What?
>> Time to go.
>> Time to go.
>> Time to go.
>> Excuse me.
>> You can't You can't film that, bro. This is You got to move on.
>> Sure, I can.
>> Time to move on, bro.
>> I don't think so. No, you're fine.
You're fine.
I'm sorry.
>> I'm with the news. I got to stand out here to do a story on uh Wells Fargo.
So, yeah. No, I'm on a public sidewalk.
Chief, you're okay.
>> It's not allowed. It's not allowed.
>> It's not allowed. I'm on a public sidewalk. What are you talking about?
>> No, no, it's not allowed. Take a picture inside.
>> I'm not going inside. I'm outside.
>> No, you're outside.
>> It's not allowed by who? But by the law, it's a law against it.
>> That's why we say it's not allowed.
There's no law against it. Of course, I'm allowed. I I'm doing it right now.
I'm taking pictures of the bank. I'm taking pictures of our security guards.
Boom. Wait, wait, wait.
>> Oh, there you go. There you go. Oh, there you go. There you go.
>> There you go.
See, there you go. Here. Shut the blinds. It's not rocket science.
Here, wait.
Wait.
Bomb site is on. Perfect.
This should be fun.
>> How's it going?
>> No complaints. And yourself?
>> Good. Good. Taking pictures of the building?
>> Uh, yeah. I just everything I can see out here. I got an assignment. Uh, doing a little story on uh Bank of America's ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Did you guys you know anything about that? The class action lawsuit.
>> Recording me?
>> Oh, I'm always recording. Yeah.
>> Yeah, you can't record me. You can't take pictures.
>> No, I'm definitely recording you.
>> I can't take pictures.
>> I I can. That's why you came out cuz I was taking pictures. I don't understand.
Wait, do you have any comments about the Jeffrey Epstein ties at Bank of America?
Oh, he's back. He's back and he's going to shut the blinds. There you go.
There you go. You shut your blinds.
Don't have your computer monitors facing the sidewalk, you [ __ ] I can see everything on your monitor.
Shame on you. Your customers deserve better.
Jeffrey Epstein says hello.
>> How are you today?
>> Hey, very good, thank you.
>> Good. Good. What are we taking pictures of today?
>> I'm sorry. What?
>> What are we taking pictures of today?
>> Oh, uh just the uh the bank and anything I can see out here. Got an assignment to come out here and get some uh get some shots of the bank.
>> Uh what's it for exactly? Sorry.
>> It's for the press. for the news.
>> Oh, yeah. We do. You have a order for that or any approval?
>> I I uh I don't Well, I'm on a public sidewalk, so I really don't need approval from the bank to take photos of the exterior. Um, so I mean, obviously my employer, yes. But I mean, we didn't we didn't call America and ask permission to to take photos. So, all is well. All is well. Had no plans of going inside. Um, just just outside here.
Hello.
Corporate security.
>> Tell them I said hello.
All right. He said he's going to they're going to call corporate security.
Not terribly concerned about that.
Here we have Bank of California. Now, I have heard, I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that the reason they spell it B C is because it allows them to do things that normal places with a B k have to do. These guys don't have to do. They don't have to abide by certain uh regulations because it's not really a bank. It's more of a bonk. Um I don't know if that's true. If an employee comes out and talks to us, I will I will certainly ask them if that's true.
>> I I can't hear. Hey, let me ask you a question.
>> Is it true that you guys spell bank with a C instead of a K? Because if you spell it with a K, there's less you don't have to abide by certain regulations. Is that true? We can't really answer the question.
>> All right. All right.
>> Yeah. I was just wondering like what was what is it that you >> I'm sorry I can barely hear you.
>> I said I was just wondering what is it that you're doing like >> Oh, I'm just taking some pictures and uh and video.
>> For who? For who?
>> Oh, for the news.
>> For the news.
>> Yeah, we're doing a little story on uh on banks and credit unions that uh have confidential customer information on display for the public to see. For example, these two monitors right there.
Um most of the new iPhones, they can actually zoom in on video. They can zoom in 24 times. On photos, they can zoom in 40 times. If you have a a monitors like that and they're facing the sidewalk, anybody literally anybody outside with a cell phone can zoom in and see everything on your monitors.
>> We actually have a screen protector on the on our monitor >> that has a screen protector on it. Holy cow. I can't imagine how bad it'd be if you didn't have one.
>> Yeah. So, we know we have to protect our customers information.
>> Yeah. Yeah. And yet you don't though.
That's weird. Yeah, >> I mean I can I can read let me tell you what's on the computer. I can tell you a customer's phone numbers. I mean everything. It's it's pretty bad. It's pretty bad. But you guys do you you'll see it in the news here soon. We're doing a little story on it. Bank of California.
>> But you don't have any permission to get any photo from the bank. So the bank didn't give you permission to get any copy. Right.
>> Well, I didn't ask for permission. I don't need permission. I'm I'm No, I'm in public. I don't need permission.
>> No, you have to get permission from Bank of California.
>> So, let me curious what happens if I don't ask for permission.
>> I'm sorry.
>> No, no, it's for the news. We're doing a story on uh on Banks that put private information on display for the public to see out in sidewalks. your business.
>> Oh, yeah. I can't do that. Um, it'll compromise the story. I can't tell you who's doing the story, but yeah, it'll be on the news soon.
>> No, cuz I watch your YouTube videos.
>> It's It's not on YouTube. It's for the news. So, thank you, brother.
Okay. So, this guy is going to come out and try and get a picture of me. But now I'm kind of hiding behind the camera.
So, he can't get a good solid shot on me.
See, that's not fair. What about my person?
>> Life is not fair, my friend. Life is not fair.
>> It's only fair.
>> Well, I mean, >> okay.
>> That's not fair.
There's Stacy standing on the corner.
Oh, you go. You can almost hear her theme music now.
All right. And so now we're outside of City Bank, right across the street from that Bunk of California. You got Bank of California over here. And then you've got City Bank right here.
And sure enough, you got these guys. Here's Here's a guy with a giant monitor. Now, you cannot see his monitor in there cuz he's got like a privacy curtain there. It's kind of uh impossible to see through completely. So, that is sufficient security to keep their customers private information private.
Oh, looks like the gals's coming out.
I wanted something for us to share and I didn't want Can I help you with something?
>> You know, we really aren't hiring right now. Um, if you want to uh like turn in a resume, be happy to >> consider in the future.
>> But you're not allowed to take pictures.
>> I'm not allow in in America or what do you mean?
>> No. No. Are you taking pictures of the building? Are you taking pictures?
>> Yeah. This the whatever I can see out here in the building uh through the windows and what have you. No, >> I I'm You can't take a picture through the window.
>> I can't. Yikes. Hold on a second. One second. I did not I Hold on. Let me see.
>> Take a picture through the window.
>> You said I can't take pictures through the window.
>> No, it definitely works. What do you have? Maybe you need to get a better camera. Like, can you not take pictures through the window? Is that the problem?
Yeah, I'd recommend get a better camera.
Um because I can really see everything inside there. Why would I not be able to take pictures? I don't understand.
All right. We're literally just one block down the street from that uh bunk of California and you've got a uh Southland Credit Union right here.
Southland Credit Union.
Um I see uh they've got a security guard in here, I think. Yep. Yep. They have a security guard and they have a few tellers in over here.
Oh, here comes the security guy.
Now, see, they've got two cameras here and um I think that's it. Just those two cameras.
Um Oh my god, this is really bad. Okay, so you come right here. There's a gal right here that she just shut it down, but she's got a computer like right there. And I'm not even I mean, keep in mind, although I could go up to the window itself, I'm not I am Let me zoom out here and show you. Look how far I am. There's my feet and there's there's the window. But I could go up to the window. And it's rather shocking that they would have their monitors facing this way without any real tint on the windows at all.
That's crazy. Crazy.
Um, this one's same way. Uh, I'm sorry.
What's that?
>> No, sir. We're not really hiring, but thank you. If you want to put a resume on file, I'd be happy to consider it.
Uh, I'm sorry. What's that?
>> I asked you to help you.
>> Yeah. No, we don't need any help. But again, if you want to put a resume on file, I'll be consider if we if we're ever hiring in the future. Right now, we do not need any help. You're >> just asking it cuz you're taking photos inside, that's all.
>> Oh, you want to help me take photos inside? I mean, if you want to go on inside and take some pictures and send them to me, that'd be great. Thanks.
>> Okay, so I think he said something about how he's acting like a jackass. They've got more folks in here. Big old fishbowl. This guy, at least he doesn't have his his computer monitors facing out this way. They're facing in that way. So, there's really no confidential information here on on display >> unlike the other window. I'm sorry.
What's that?
>> Can you please leave?
>> Can I please leave?
>> Can you please record?
>> Leave Santa Monica or what? What do you mean?
>> I'll ask you out of this area.
>> Leave the public sidewalk.
You want me to leave the public sidewalk? Are you serious?
Are you serious?
>> Go on, little man. Do your job. your jobs out of here in the public sidewalk, [ __ ] So, anyways, see now he closed the blinds. Good for him. Good for him.
This guy in here though, now again, monitors facing the sidewalk.
It's shocking to me. Shocking.
Look at that. Look at that.
Unbelievable.
There you go. There you go.
free advice. You should turn your monitors around so they face that way instead of this way. Just saying. Yeah, everybody can see everything on their monitors in there. It's kind of crazy.
Kind of crazy. I'm out here trying to help you guys and you're out here acting like a knucklehead.
Hey, can you please leave?
Jackass.
Hey, can you please leave?
>> I don't get my work here anymore.
>> So do I. You work out on the public sidewalk.
>> The bank's property.
>> Is it? Is it interesting? So, I'm on the bank's property right now. Am I on the bank's property right now?
>> I mean, I don't want to be trespassing.
By all means, if this is the bank's property, let me know.
>> Get out of here.
>> Get out of here. Why don't you make me, jackass?
Go inside, little boy. Go on. Go inside.
We don't need you out here. Go on.
All right.
I think that about wraps it up for Santa Monica.
Um, you're going to want to watch the bonus footage though because you're going to see the Stryand effect in action at Barber Stryand's house. Oh yeah.
Stay tuned.
Well, welcome back. So in 2005 somebody coined the phrase the Strerisand effect and what that is in a nutshell. In 2003, there was a gentleman that was doing a little geological study of the coastline of California, and he posted thousands of photographs. And one of those photographs was a photograph of none other than Barbara Sterisan's house on the California coast.
And um all of these photos were online, including including the the photo of her house. and uh she sued the man for $50 million.
And at least that's what I've read. And uh she lost. She had to wind up paying like $150 $170,000 or something like that in attorney's fees. Uh his attorney's fees. God knows what she paid her attorney. Um and thus look at that nice pair of shoes.
Anyways, anyways um thus thus the the term striand effect um came into being because before she threw a fit about it and sued this guy, a total of six people had actually downloaded this photo of her house. Six.
Two of those six people were her attorneys after she threw a fit about it and sued this guy for $50 million.
Uh I believe it was $420,000 people downloaded that. And so the striand effect is basically when you try to prevent something from getting out there and your efforts to quash that information results in more publicity and more people uh seeing it.
So uh we're going to swing by that house. Now we really can't see much of the house from uh the street here.
actually. Uh it's it's back a little bit. We swung by here yesterday. I was out here for 15 maybe 20 seconds and a security guard came outside, asked me if I'd taken my meds. Um suggested I was schizophrenic because I was out here taking pictures on a public street of a gate of a famous celebrity.
Uh, sorry. Going to swing back by and see if that same little security guard comes out here and gets his knickers in a knot. This should be fun. This is the Stryand effect in action. Watch this.
So, I got some really nice cactuses in here.
As you can see, you want to beware of the cactuses.
No, I can't read that. No dog.
I think it says no dog dumping.
I don't know. You just got to get like right about here and then the little sensors go off and little lights will come on and stuff like that. And but nice cactuses.
Oo, little lizards.
Some little lizards running through there.
And Let me see.
I would give this little jackass inside this place literally like 60 seconds. Maybe maybe 60 seconds.
Watch. See what happens. By the way, he opened the gate yesterday, which actually made the place more or or less secure by opening the gates. I was able to see cars inside, license plates on the cars, etc., etc. So, um I uh I would be really surprised if he doesn't come out here pretty quick.
We'll see. Beware of cactuses, please. No dog Barbara Sen's mailbox. All right.
There's a uh camera right there.
And let's see. It's a little sensor thing here. Lights go on.
Now, if he doesn't come out today, I'll go ahead and show you what happened yesterday. I'll probably show you. Oh, wait. His little little lizard. There you go.
>> Hey, buddy.
>> There you go.
>> Hey, what do you need, sweetheart?
Filming.
You see that little lizard right there?
Now I can hear the security guard in the back talking to somebody. Probably calling the cops and he made some claim about me being out here walking past the place like five times now.
And uh I think I've only walked past it twice.
Um, so he's just calling the cops and hoping they're going to come out here and save him.
>> I'm filming a lizard. Actually, it's not all about you, my friend.
>> Not all about you.
Look at that little lizard.
Oh, he took off.
Um, either this little clown in here has called the police or he's pretending like he called the police. Speaking really loudly, hoping that I would hear him and it would scare me off.
Well, I think that's it. The little clown isn't going to come out and play, so we'll go ahead and head out. Um, I'll I'll show you what happened. I actually, keep in mind, I recorded it to the other day in uh portrait mode cuz I was going to do it just on post it just on uh Instagram.
Uh, but instead I'll go ahead and post it here. So, just, you know, keep that in mind. It is in portrait mode and not in landscape.
So, this is kind of fun. We're in Malibu, California at the uh site where the Stryand effect originated. Let me flip this camera around and show you what I'm talking about. What am I doing? Uh I'm taking a picture. What are you doing?
>> All right, we got your license plate. No problem.
>> Oh no, I have your address.
>> Yeah, please use it.
>> This psycho. Seriously. Seriously, I'm on a public street and this guy comes out and asks what I'm doing. So, I appreciate the irony of that because this is the place right here. I'm sorry.
>> What do you need? Why are you outside our address right now?
>> What are you doing?
>> What business is it?
>> What are you doing here?
>> Go [ __ ] yourself, pal. Okay.
>> I'm on a public side street.
>> There you go. Yeah. Yeah. Get that license, plate.
You got me now.
Psycho.
hilarious. Anyh who, um, so this this is what happens. I'm sorry.
>> It's time to leave.
>> Time to leave.
>> Yeah.
>> Then maybe you should go.
>> I'll wait for the police to get here.
>> What are the police going to do? I'm curious. Are you saying this is private property right here? This is this street private property?
>> You're right. Sure enough. So, are you telling me that this street is private property?
>> Take your medication today >> because I'm out on a public street taking photos.
You think I'm schizophrenic cuz I'm out taking photos on a public street. What a [ __ ] psycho.
No, no, no. I'm sticking around for a while now. You go ahead and call the police there.
>> Got it.
>> Rocket scientist.
Stacey has informed me that she just saw a police officer heading this way. So, let's see if in fact that is a cop coming to deal with me.
Hey, sir.
How's it going?
>> Very good, thank you. What's going on today?
>> Take some pictures.
>> Nothing. Yeah. What's going with you guys?
>> Nothing. They called us.
>> Who? Oh, this bonehead over here. Yeah.
Yeah. Bless his heart. You going to go educate him and let him know it's a public street and there's no log and walking up and down the street.
>> I know there's not.
>> Oh, I don't think he does that. Has he abused the uh 911 system often for you guys? Little boy that cried wolf over here. I think you know who. The guy that called the cops. Fellow right in here.
>> That's not the address I had.
>> Really? Somebody else called the police.
Huh? Interesting. All right.
>> So, was there somebody that talked to you or something or gave you a hard time? Uh, >> not not today. No.
>> No.
>> Do you work for some kind of news outlet or something like >> I do? I do.
>> Okay. All right. As long as you know the rules, right?
>> Yeah. I don't think he does, though. You sure this fell in here wasn't the one that called the police?
>> I promise that wasn't the address I was >> Interesting. Interesting.
>> Look and call the person that did, but I don't.
>> Yeah. All right. All right.
>> So, you all good, though? Just >> I could not be better, actually. Yeah.
Yep. Never been better. Actually, we're doing a little uh we are doing a little uh story. I'm a kind of an amateur anthropologist. Um doing a story on the origin of the Stryand effect. Are you familiar?
>> No.
>> 2003, a gentleman was doing a study of the California coast and he posted thousands of photos and people downloaded the video, the the photos of her house.
>> So, >> I didn't even know there's >> Yeah, I was actually out here. I I came out here yesterday for two seconds. This guy This guy um right right back in here. So, this guy comes outside immediately, calls me schizophrenic, uh, asks me if I've taken my meds.
>> Um, >> was it like a security?
>> That's Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, he's a [ __ ] And so, I'm going to give him a personal lesson on the Strerisand effect. Um, he seems to think that nobody can walk up and down this street without his explicit permission. And he's going to find out otherwise cuz I'll come out here every single day for a year if I have to to teach that piece of [ __ ] a lesson. He comes out on a public street and starts calling me names and accusing me of being schizophrenic because I'm taking photos in public. What a piece of [ __ ] So, he'll learn a valuable lesson today. Um, but yeah, it's it's definitely this little gentleman down here. Uh, if if he didn't just call you guys, >> he was pretending to call you about 10 minutes ago. Literally describing me to every sock I can do. He's watching me through the he's recording me through the fence. No, I was recording the lizard over here in the in the cactus garden. So, he's just not too bright.
>> Yeah. Yeah, he's he's not too bright.
You might want to tell him that, though.
I suspect if you went over this gate over here because >> Did you drive him here at all or something?
>> Yes.
>> Okay.
>> Yes.
>> And you're obviously abiding by the no parking sign.
>> I am indeed. My my car is not down here within sight.
>> I don't think this is a private road.
I'd have to check.
>> No, it's not. According to the county, it's not a private road. If if it is, they really should put signs up to that private road. But >> as long as it's not, you can do it.
>> But I'm not I'm not bringing the doorbell. I'm not screaming obscenities.
I'm not yelling at nothing. Nothing. He just came outside and started something with me yesterday. So, I'm going to teach him that. Uh >> giving me your first name.
>> Oh, very much. Yes. Uh I'm Gen X. If you tell me I can't do something that I know I can do, I'm going to come back and do it again twice as hard and twice as long. So, this little [ __ ] over here needs to learn a valuable lesson. And and I suspect we're going to pull a little records uh request and find out how many times this idiot in the last year has called police on somebody outside on the public street.
>> I've never been here. I don't work much.
>> I suspect it's a lot. I suspect it's a lot. So anyways, yeah, I just got finished. I'm going down the street here and coming back up and I'm heading out of here. But uh >> No, you're good. You can >> public roadway all you want.
>> Yeah, I wish somebody would tell that guy. Um so he's he's literally he's right on the Se that gate right there.
He's right on the other side of that gate.
>> Figure out who called. That's not the address I was provided.
>> Got you.
>> But I will definitely call the person that called us and see what's going on.
>> All right. Hey, you be safe out there.
>> All right, sir. You good?
>> Yeah. Yeah. Never been better.
>> All right, man.
>> Have a good one.
>> Oh, boohoo. The police left.
>> All right, we're going to go and head out.
See you next Tuesday.
Well, there you have it. That little uh piss ant called the police. The police don't care because it's not against the law. I think we made our point here today.
Let's uh let's show that little piss ant how the stry hand effect works, shall we?
Another day, another donut. This has been Mike Norton, KULT News, Malibu, California.
>> What's up in the pictures? Do >> you know what kind of plant this is by chance? It's freaking beautiful.
>> Rossy here. What's the deal?
>> What's that?
>> Can I ask your name?
>> Yeah, Mike. What's uh this plant? What kind of plant is this?
>> I don't know. But what what are you taking a picture of?
>> The plant is gorgeous.
>> Oh, okay. Woo.
>> Are you paparazzi?
>> No. No. What are >> you after?
>> Actually, I I I'm kind of an amateur anthropologist who's doing a little story on uh we were doing a story on um you maybe you'll appreciate this. The Sterand effect. Are you familiar?
>> Okay. So, you are paparazzi.
>> I'm not paparazzi, but are you familiar?
I'm amateur anthropologist, but are you familiar with Yeah, it's I've never photographed a celebrity in my life. Um are you familiar with the Stryand effect?
>> No. And I could nutshell it for you. In 2003, a gentleman was doing a study of 20,000 people.
>> Okay. So, you're here for the paparazzi.
>> Well, I I wouldn't.
>> Yes, you are. Just answer my question.
>> Okay. I I did um Yeah. No, I'm not here for the paparazzi. Again, amateur anthropologist doing a story on the Stryand effect. And I was >> Why are you Why are you here part of my house?
>> Well, I was walking back up here. I You can't park on this street. So, I had to park clear out in BF and walk back up.
So, >> okay. So, what's going on at the end of the street that you're after?
>> I just It was outside of Stranden's house. So, I was just doing a little >> So, what's going on down there?
>> Uh, her security guard's kind of a [ __ ] I came out here yesterday and within 10 seconds he came outside, called me schizophrenic, asked me if I was taking my meds. I'm like, cuz I'm in public taking photos. You lost your freaking mind. And so, uh, >> I'm Okay, so here's the sheriff.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Oh, they came down to chat with me >> and I'm like, why are you here?
>> Yeah. Yeah. Just, uh, doing a little story on the Strand effect and wanted to do the story right out in front of where the Stryand effect originated, where it actually started. So, >> okay. Well, this is private property, so I would ask that you please leave. This is prim where I'm standing right here.
No. H how about you? How about you mind your own business and go inside, Garen?
Okay. Mind your own business and go inside. I'm on a public street.
I'm out here complimenting your nice flowers and you're rude in return.
There you go. Good job, Karen.
Jesus.
So, it seems Barber Stryand's neighbors are [ __ ] too. Go figure.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. Heat.
