We Drove Across Melbourne For NOTHING…Added:
you okay?
>> Hello.
>> Hi.
>> We are going to go to Flemington and get some cool video games in a private pickup. Before we do that, I just want to have a little bit of a rant slashquestnaire to my tradey friends out there. We got a quote to do this deck up for $12,000 to do this deck. Right now, I don't know what I'm doing at all. I am the least manly man in the world when it comes to this stuff. And I bought $300 worth of material and sort of worked it out in a way. A lot of this stuff was rotted, so I worked it out. So, just before we go to Flemington, can someone answer my question? Is 12 grand for this little space just absolutely insane? Or am I super out of touch?
Anyway, I'm going to shut up, Mitchell.
Stop complaining. Let's go to Flemington.
>> All right. So, today we're going to do a little bit of op shopping, like I said, but I've got first we've got a pickup.
Um, it's some Nintendo games and >> Oh, I didn't know. You didn't tell me.
>> It's Nintendo. It's always good when it's Nintendo, but I forgot how faking far Flemington's away. So, I don't know whether I've made it worth it for myself considering the price of fuel now. Um, I could have completely made a poo poo, but look, that's the risk you take, not knowing after seven years of living in Melbourne where anything is. I just said yes, I'll come and buy it right now.
>> You've got to consult with me first.
>> I know you're my little consultant. But look, at least we get to see what's going on in the city, >> what's going on, >> how it's been, and something I don't normally do. I'm going to tell you guys how much I spent on this, how long I traveled to get here, and then in the comments, you can let me know whether Mitchell, you're a [ __ ] idiot, or Mitchell, you're a horrible, horrible person. You ripped Chris off. You [ __ ] ripped him off. Even with the hour travel and back to our travel, you can say all that sort of stuff in there all you want.
>> That's where we should go live.
>> Is it?
You need to get uh I guess we could uh qualify, >> mate. With last year's tax return of how much we made in a year, we qualify for a [ __ ] room here. Let Let me tell you that for everybody who thinks reselling's big money.
It's honestly not. The best thing about reselling, honestly, what we do is that we just get to hang out all the time. We don't get to do anything fancy.
>> That's why we do it. That's why we do it, though.
>> Yeah. We live in a twobedroom apartment >> on the beach.
>> On Yeah, it's on the beach. All right, mate. I'm trying to [ __ ] But still, it's a two better. We're about to have another kid. So, that's two kids, a full family in a two-bedroom apartment. And there is no way we can afford to upgrade. So, we're going to have to make do for now. But anyway, maybe maybe there's some flats over there for >> Let's keep buying games. Let's keep buying games and let them sit on eBay for 18 months and then end up putting them on whatnot and selling them for less than what I pay for. It's such a good business model.
>> Do you do it?
>> Spot on, man. Spot on.
>> That's beautiful.
>> Chris, mate, I'm here.
Oh, >> what?
>> [ __ ] >> What?
>> What is wrong with you?
>> I don't even remember him saying he finished his work at 6:00. Let me see.
Um, >> maybe.
>> Is he? Oh, I'll be home 6:30ish after work.
Oh, I'm such a [ __ ] Let us do this.
>> We can't stay around here until 6:30.
>> He reckons he can drop them off >> at our place.
>> Yeah. Are you sure >> when?
Doesn't really matter when.
>> Yeah.
>> I would say like come back. But we've just got such a busy week.
>> We've got such a busy week this week.
We've got friends coming to stay. Uh we're trying to do our deck. Uh, you've got another pickup >> on Friday.
>> On Friday, but tomorrow I've got to paint the deck. Like, there's just a lot going on. And you got to do a whatnot show >> on Thursday night.
>> Yeah. So, it's just like, >> oh, did you want these for No, no, no.
You didn't want that for the one night show.
>> How come you got it that way? There's a screen on the front to make selfie easy.
>> Um, >> oh well, whatever.
>> I'll show I'll try it.
>> He's writing. Maybe he's about to say >> he's not going to come home from work to >> No, I'm not saying he's going to come home from work. I'm saying he might say, "Oh, my friend next door is going to This is why you read every little bit."
>> This is why I see I was actually getting a facial when he was organizing this. So maybe if I was around, this wouldn't have happened.
>> He said, "This guy says, "Look at this is how good this guy is." He said, "Yeah, man. Absolutely. I'll drop him off." All groovy.
No stress at all. All right. Well, Chris, you're a bloody legend. We may as well just go up shopping though.
>> Let's just go op shopping in Flemington.
Seems we've come all this way.
>> When he drops them off, we'll add this.
Um, >> hang on. I'll I'll ask him right now.
When do you think you can drop off?
>> But also say like no stress.
>> No stress. Just so I know.
And I'm not rooting my wife >> when you knock on the door. We have to lock the door now because um his parents live in the same apartment building. So we got to lock our front door.
>> Yeah. Sometimes when we're rooting they come over just walk in to the house.
>> Yeah. That happened last time because they look after Mars.
>> Yeah.
>> They look after our son so we can have sex.
>> No, that's not why they look after him.
Sometimes he falls asleep.
>> We just take advantage of um our um kid free time.
>> Sometimes he falls asleep over there and then there's no point waking him up and bringing him home. Well, sometimes we're working and we just want to take a quick break.
>> Yeah.
>> You know, um anyway, >> cuz it takes me no time at all.
>> Came over to um get the uh pram to go for a walk and >> and I had to pretend I was coming out of the shower. Oh, yeah. I was just having a shower.
>> Where's all >> Probably too much information, guys?
Sorry, but we've [ __ ] up. We don't know what else to talk about.
>> Just sitting here having a chat.
>> Let's embarrass ourselves now.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. Well, I'll find some um op shops and we'll go from there. But how's my skin look after my facial?
>> Mother day special.
>> Yeah, it was Mitchell got it for me.
Well, Mars got it for me for Mother's Day.
>> All right, so this is where we are. It's an opportunity shop over here. It's literally called Opportunity Shop, and we've never been here before, but it looks very cool. Looks um well taken care of, exciting.
Look at that. Beautiful big display at the front.
M.
>> Oh, there's a um Dark Souls 3 and Dark Souls Steelbook Editions. Ooh, they got 30 bucks each on them, though.
I might have to see if I can get a swindle a deal. Let's see if I can swindle a deal for them.
Oh, and a bunch of toys.
Oh, this place looks awesome.
This place looks great.
Really nice.
Hello. How you doing?
>> I'm well.
>> I'm just showing your wonderful shop off. We've never been here before.
>> You haven't?
>> No. We go around all the op shops and show off all the goodies we find. And never se never even knew this place existed. So, it gets us pretty excited when we haven't been there before. First thing that's caught my eye is this Osborne Sword Quest. Love these older style books and the Osborne ones are always notoriously good. Look at that old school art. All mate's having a good sniff of that donkey. Having any luck, duck?
>> I just looking in these, but I feel like >> there might be something going on.
>> Endless opportunities in here.
>> It's all like boys clothes. A dollar each. That's what we like to see.
>> You never know. You could find some old Ninja Turtles. You could find some old Snoopy.
It's one of the last items in an op shop, the children's closing that hasn't been worked out yet.
>> Don't you reckon it's like the last of the good old days? You can still find a real Yeah, I'm the same.
>> No, I think it's you then.
>> It is me.
>> I just >> I smell so bad right now >> cuz I I was like, "What's that?" And it's not me.
>> Well, I've been out making a deck for our house, mate.
>> That's true. That's true. You have.
>> Anyway, back to talking about these.
Yeah. So, you can still find old vintage kids clothes. And as you can see, this place $1. Beautiful, beautiful pricing.
>> I did find a movie, but it's an X rental. I don't really like buying these. Inhabited.
Quite spooky looking. Little bit going on in the back there. Can't do those X Reynolds like that. Don't know what it is lately in the t-shirts, but all I've been finding are these vintage Philippines >> TE's. Like every single op shop I've been, you reckon?
>> It's just these all the time. The Philippine ones. I guess I don't pay enough attention.
>> You don't pay enough attention. Okay, fair enough. I do like having a look in the old key rings when I get a chance IPA. I like this. The old getaway.
What a legendary show. Do they even still make that? Is that still happening?
>> We're done in here and then we got to go around the corner down there >> for the drive.
>> Yeah. Let's discuss this place.
>> So, as we walked in, >> promising.
>> It was looked promising. I'm loving the sound of this big truck in the background. It's perfect.
>> But um Oh, he's gone now. He's gone.
He's pissing off.
>> Um it looks really good in there. But then the convers um when we were walking here, we actually said it feels like there's this like bad juju in the air. And um I think it's cuz of all the trucks. I think everyone's just walking around going, >> "Yeah, this um >> Anyway, what I was saying is when we first got in there, it looked amazing.
It was set up all like old school, but the conversations behind the counter, every single conversation was >> eBay."
>> eBay. And they're just sitting in there.
Literally, every item they're pulling out of the box, they're taking pictures of. And I looked up those steelbook editions of Dark Souls and that people are selling them for like $16, $12 and there they've got them for 30 bucks each. Um, and I also see, you know, she pulled like a like a cook pot type thing out and she said, "Oh, someone's selling this for $15 on eBay, so we'll do it for 12." And I'm sitting there going, "Mate, do it for $3 cuz it's not sold on eBay for 15." And 15 bucks on eBay is like charm change.
>> Got to remember like it's it was a very specific thing too for someone to walk into an op shop to want to spend. It was an oil.
>> It was something that heated like you said gravy or some kind of dips in.
>> Yeah.
>> It was like a dipping.
>> It was an oil dip.
>> Oh, okay. Well, an oil dip. There's an oil dip in there for 12 bucks if you want it. Anyway, we over spent. I didn't even really want this stuff.
>> Um, also what I noticed was that it looked quite old in there, right? But when you were looking at the things, there's not a lot of old things in there. I I wasn't going, "Oh, there's lots of old stuff here." You know what I mean? So, which is fine. Look, it's just not >> And the reason why I overspend and bought anyway is because >> you just see that's the thing when you're filming, right?
>> They were so they were so fine about the >> filming. When you're filming, you feel obliged to buy things as like a tip of the hat.
>> Thank you for letting me make some content. Here's $17 for four things.
>> [ __ ] We spent $17 on this. Yeah, that's some of my things.
>> Three little bishes, man. $17.
I'm not feeling good about it. So hopefully Vinnie's Let's just go to classic.
>> Let's go to Vinnies. Let's just go. Shut up and go to Vinnie's.
>> Another truck.
I'm telling you.
>> Truck town. They should call it truck town.
>> It should be called the the town of truck. I don't know. I know. I know everyone's going to shut up, Mitchell.
Stop talking about the trucks, but I can't help it. It's just truck after truck.
>> And we live on a highway.
>> Yeah, I live on the Npian highway. The the highway.
>> Not that many trucks.
>> And I The only thing I hear sounds is a motorbike.
>> Do you think we're just [ __ ] winges?
>> I think we're wers.
>> I think we're wingers. And maybe that's why we're so perfect for each other.
>> We just sit around and complain. It's all >> That's all. And that's why we have literally hardly any friends.
Like, oh, let's invite these people.
They're very funny.
>> Those people just winge about everything.
>> Oh well.
>> Oh well.
>> She's a bloody beautiful time in every op shop, even the bad ones. But this one, I don't remember it being bad. No >> at all. It was actually something we'd stop in at all the time.
>> Wasn't this the first Vinnie ever?
>> Actually, I think you're right. I think you've got a bit of I think you're educating us.
>> This is the first Vinnie ever. This is the first Vinnie store ever. I don't know if it's in Australia or in Melbourne.
>> That is a big chair.
>> I'm going to go in.
>> All right, let's go.
I do like this one. Squirtle Squad. Nice print, good quality. It's not like some cheapy one.
And five bucks. Can't go wrong with that. We will keep looking.
And a wrestling tea 2016. So that's over 10 years ago now. Official licensed product. And another great price. Five bucks. So I'll be getting that one as well. And Bad Brains. Great tea. Yet again, only five bucks. What a bargain.
This place is bloody awesome. Over in the sleepy area now.
I always try and find some old silkies.
Got some old Aussie Target ones. Bit of golf. And this goat. He used to be on all the jocks and socks here in Australia. You don't see him getting around too often anymore. The old Bonds fell. Chesty Bond >> potentially.
>> Is it any good?
>> Well, it's not as good as this.
Look at this. Absolutely gorgeous. New in packaging. How much would you expect? I was thinking, oh, they're probably asking 20 bucks.
>> I was going to say 20.
>> Look at that.
$5. Okay, you hold that >> tank model.
>> Yeah. And look, another one.
>> German. I might put this together and put it with my little library. Look at that. One's only $4.
>> Winning, darling.
>> Nice.
>> Really nice buttonup. It's probably like a women's size or a 2004 emo boy size.
>> Are these fit you darling? These loafers?
>> I don't want any loafers. So nice road.
>> 35 bucks.
>> That's weird. This is weird pricing in here. Five bucks. 35 bucks.
>> This is very particular >> still. That's pretty crazy. Anyway, I'm stoked on that.
>> There you go.
>> All right. Thank you very much.
>> Um I will tell you about this.
>> Okay.
>> Um I don't know how to say this.
>> Uh Yojan.
>> Anyway, I used to look at this brand when I was pregnant with Mars because a lot of people use it as a maternity dress and now I'm pregnant again and I found one.
>> Yeah. I don't want to pay like 180 bucks for it.
>> It's very Kirsty alley. And look who's talking.
>> There you go. Kind of Captain Tanny. Um, but when I'm bigger, it'll it'll work.
It'll make sense.
>> Beautiful. Good find 99.
>> Thank you.
>> The only negative thing about this place so far, no baskets. And I'm finding so much swag. So, Erin, can you find us a basket?
>> Um, I've actually been finding a lot, too, but like I just can't be bothered picking up women's clothes right now.
But if I was picking if I was like into it.
>> I want to get some women's. Like, there's lots.
>> This is the place.
>> Can't believe it's so good here.
>> I don't know whether we just walked in at like perfect timing, but I don't remember it being this good. They're right here. Right at the front of the shop. I was just an idiot who couldn't use his eyes. I'll get one for me.
And one for Aaron.
>> Here, darling. I found one. I found two, actually.
>> One for you. Oh, no. We got to split them up first.
>> Oh, sorry. Here you go.
>> Thank you. Thank you.
That stuff >> little um >> What is it?
>> I just thought it was really cute.
>> It's just a coin back there.
>> Oh, okay.
>> I just like the look of it.
>> Interesting. Absolutely incredible.
I'm absolutely gobsmacked.
>> You know what? That's how I feel about your tanks. So, >> hang on. You're You're comparing me finding these for $5 with that teeu bloody mushroom.
Anyway, let's go look in the toys.
>> Oh, Aaron's brought this over. I didn't get to the toys. I got distracted in the shirts as well. XL >> um old Mount Hawtham.
>> Oh, >> no guts, no glory. Mount Hotham skie.
>> That's a beauty. Great color, too. Oh, six bucks.
>> I know. That was in the plus size women's.
>> Well, I had some luck over here as well.
Got some banties. Look at that big long sleeve. I think it's behemoth. Then we've got god flesh.
God flesh.
>> Look at that. That's huge. And then we've got this heartworm, which I think is like a alternative press media type shirt. So, I'm going to get that as well.
>> Cute.
>> I couldn't see anything else in there. I could have missed it, though.
>> I trust you.
>> Yeah, I trust myself, too. All right.
Are you all right with that? Yeah. Are you sure?
>> I'm going to put >> All right, let's work it out.
>> Yeah, we're just in a little Go backwards.
>> Beep beep beep beep.
>> All right. I see some bags. And watch your step cuz there's a rundown.
>> It's all this little sauna.
We love a bag of toys.
>> I always wonder to myself if these are going to be like tasos or something one day cuz I always just overlook them. I never pick them up. I think they're all just trash. But you know, in 20 years time. Oh, if I only had kept all those Harry Potter magical discs from Coohl's.
I remember when they were $4 a bag.
>> Hey. Hey babe, do you remember that time that you went on um the no deal and won $5? It >> was $5 we didn't have before. Wasn't that an experience?
>> I don't know if it was worth the parking.
>> No.
>> Yeah, it's someone trying to That's someone just smoking methamines.
>> Let's do some research.
>> Well, >> you can tell it's like one of those higher class board games. It's not >> Oh, is it a board game? I thought it was a puzzle. Oh, how much they want? Six bucks. Get it.
>> Well, can I do some looking for >> No, just get it. Just go with your gut.
Go with that big bulging gut.
>> You can't take this as fact, but I'm just saying it's a war game. War games are always um >> Well, let's just go to the souls. Let's just do the thing. Let's just do the thing. Okay.
>> God, I don't want to get those comments where people just say, "Yeah, look at the soul."
>> Well, that's all right.
>> Why isn't it? Hang on. Let me try and let me press it.
>> It's kind of got a reflection on the photo.
>> Oh, there we go. Yeah. So, you can see what it's Oh, well. Yeah. stuff. All right, so I win the day. Oh, look again.
>> Oh, you did all right there.
>> Thank you.
>> I will admit it. You did all right.
>> Oh god, this corner is all right, isn't it?
>> It's just cool looking. I don't know what >> it's the um remember that movie Superers size me? That's what it looks like.
>> I think it's just like garbage Lego.
>> LOLs is like garbage Lego. Not bad little corner. This hangman's pretty deadly, don't you reckon?
>> That's cool. Oh, >> look at that. Look at that hangman logo.
That's dope. It's worth it just for that.
>> Yeah, >> just a look at the hangman logo. I might get it. What is it? Four bucks.
All right. God, we're getting a little bit more than I thought we were going to be getting.
>> Oh my god, it's so cute.
>> Is that like one of those vintage ones?
>> What's that? It feels heavy. What's this? What's that say?
>> Yeah.
>> Onion.
>> Onion. No. Is it >> on off?
It's too cool not to buy, man. Look at those glasses. I wonder what sounds it makes. I'll have to get home and check it. Was it Sam one?
>> It's a Sam one.
>> But I was like, "Oh, I'll get that from Mars cuz he loves Wiggles." But it's just so wordy.
>> Yeah, The Hooves.
>> Yeah, The Hooves.
>> Jim Hansen bumper book. Yeah, I found a couple of books for myself, actually.
>> Yeah, let's show them off. We got Wake and Fright. Actually, a really awesome movie that was um what's that called?
Where the ME lost media for a while and they fixed it up and you can watch it now. And then we've got Other Worlds, Other Gods, anything with Arthur C.
Clark and it's usually pretty good. And this one I just got because it has that word on it and I'm that sort of person.
>> I don't know if it's any >> Good little hunter. Monster Hunter to be exact. Is there more up there?
>> There is. Have a look.
>> Oh, there's a few going on. All right.
Oh, >> not bad price.
>> Five. Oh, they got a bit of everything here. Real fishing. Angler Dream on the Wii. I've never seen that fishing game.
Let me put that aside. $3. That's not bad. What else we got up here? World Cup. That's a no dog. It's a no for me dog. Crash car racer. That might be a no for me dog. Might help if I actually show what I'm looking at. One of my worst mistakes. I suck at that.
>> No.
>> All right. Um >> Arkham Knight seven.
Get it in 99. Get it in 99. There we go.
Look now team work. That's why we married each other. See Aaron's bladder is about to burst. Can't. And also, we should go before the traffic gets bad.
>> Very true. Well, we had a good time in here.
>> I was actually really stoked for today.
And I was even more stoked at the end when someone else arrived who smelt worse than me >> because I smell pretty bad. But that other guy, he was >> Yeah.
>> Yeah. I'll take a receipt, please. Thank you.
>> Oh, that smells. It is gorgeous.
>> And And maybe you can help us as well.
Is this the first ever Vinnie that ever opened? I think it is, isn't it?
>> This is the oldest door.
>> The oldest Vinnie. the oldest store.
There you go.
>> I knew it was something I was trying to remember.
>> Yeah, we tried to work it out.
>> I think I think >> Yeah, I knew. We knew it was some kind of old thing. All right. Thank you so much.
>> Well, aren't you glad that I messed up and made us have to come all the way over here, don't you reckon?
>> Yeah. I mean, we would have come over here anyway if we got the pickup. No, I guess not. No. Yeah, you're right. Okay.
>> Maybe that pickup would have taken way longer and wouldn't had time to go off shopping.
>> Yeah. Kudos to you, darling.
>> Oh, thank you, baby. Anyway, guys, we love you. Thanks for joining us and we'll see you at the op shop.
>> Bye.
>> Oh, the legend actually just came and dropped him off. Shout out Chris.
Thank you very, very much.
Now, as promised, I'm going to show off what I purchased and you can give me your two cents in the comments.
All right, guys. Here's everything I picked up today. Well, yesterday um cuz as you know, I stuffed up. But yeah, I never usually do this, but paid 350 for all these. And I'm just curious if you were running a business like me and you wanted to make some profit and uh have to cover all the eBay fees and the postage fees and then the the zonos fees and then the GSTs.
What what would be a fair price you would pay for this bundle? Now, there really is some good stuff in here. Um most of it's good. Some of it will sit a while. Um a couple of the bigger ticket ones will sit for a long time. It does take quite a while for someone to pick them up, but as you can see, a nice little bundle. And yeah, just really curious what you guys think. So, in the comments, if you've made it all the way to the back of this video, congratulations.
Um, let me know in the comments, what would what would you pay if you were wanting to make a little bit of profit on top of this?
>> Anyway, >> enjoy. I'll see you next time.
