PM Shehbaz China Visit | Pak-China Friendship | PM Shehbaz Visits Alibaba Headquarters | SAMAA TVAdded:
Josiah, it's really a great honor and pleasure to visit.
It's one of the world's largest outfit in the field of IT and AI and modern techniques.
I think you rightly said that this year we are celebrating 75 years of our diplomatic friendly relations and on both sides leadership right from the day one have been joining hands together to build this unique friendship between the two countries.
It has no parallel in this world and I have no doubt in my mind that under the dynamic leadership of President Xi Jinping we will work very hard to strengthen our relations, you know, from generation to generation and this will continue.
Mr. Chairman, thank you for your very kind words for Pakistan's role as a peacemaker.
This wouldn't have been possible without China's strong support along with other friendly and brotherly countries and Xi Jinping's four-point agenda to achieve peace in the region is absolutely fantastic and Pakistan fully supports that.
Hopefully we will through joint efforts we'll have long-lasting peace in the region and that will give, you know, absolutely phenomenal opportunities for all who want to really, you know, make use of this time to gain momentum and progress and prosperity. I'm here to first thank you for Alibaba's uh wonderful cooperation with the the government of Pakistan and your direct uh linkages with uh private uh uh companies in Pakistan. Let's today do something uh uh big.
Uh it's very important that what is being done and achieved and this cooperation is very valuable in health in education in uh financial transactions. I just want to give you one example. Last year I decided to transfer funds to deserving people through digital wallet directly sitting at their homes. In that month in 24, 25 Ramadan, total amount allocated was 20 billion. We were able to distribute something like 16 billion through digital wallet.
And then uh people were you know you know absolutely wonderstruck what How could this happen? We achieved uh Mr. Chairman, 75% uh of transaction that year and it was with third party validation. They have have these sums of money uh they have been sent to the correct uh digital wallets or not.
So and third party validation was done independently. This year the amount was double, 40 billion.
Mhm. And this year we achieved 85% through digital wallet. Similarly, our revenue collection uh you know authority, which is called Federal Board of Revenue, we have gone for complete digitization, complete. As I speak, every step of this institution is being uh digitized, but it's a long way to go.
You know, import at Karachi port exports, scanners and then um human hands to be restricted as much as possible. How to further industrialize our country, our agriculture which are which is the backbone of our economy.
How can we really, you know, strengthen our agriculture sector through you know, IT, AI to provide best possible opportunity to the farmer to grow more quality seed etc. And then of course you know, how to promote our exports, how to have data centers. So I think let us you are one of the largest outfit around the globe. This health care, this you know, 300 million dollars you know, sale, all this is very fine. But let's talk of billions of dollars today.
It will not be achieved overnight. It will take time. But let's shake hand for that, sign an agreement and step by step we move in that direction. That's what I'm here for.
Nothing less, nothing more.
>> [applause] >> Thank you very much, Your Excellency.
You have just made the strongest case I've ever heard about how important it is to digitize the economy. Thank you very much. I'm humbled to hear these words from you. Let's sign this MOU and then we dedicate a committee on both sides, also put in place a time frame that within this time frame hopefully both teams would come up with a program spanning over the next 10 years. It's a done deal.
>> [applause] >> Thank you very much. I just read some of the highlights. Recognizing the long-standing strategic partnership between China and Pakistan under the framework of the Iron Brother Alliance and the Belt and Road Initiative.
