Godfrey masterfully grounds the abstract debate of cultural appropriation in the historical reality of South African exploitation, turning a complex academic concept into a visceral lesson on power dynamics.

Cultural Appropriation In South Africa.Added:
This just in, more cultural appropriation.
Now, this video is a video where they're showing, you know, the South African dance where they do the kid that or well, it's kids or grown up. They kick the legs up really high. I don't have the name for it, so you guys can let me know what it is. It's amazing. I love watching it. I love watching the kids do it. I love when the black Africans are doing it. And this video is a white is a white kid doing the dance and the kids are egging him on and cheering him on like we always do. Always supporting the mediocre cuz he's doing it is mediocre.
He's all right. It's mediocre.
Now, if he was killing I'd say he was killing it, but I put an emoji. I put this emoji. I love that emoji like, "Oh, here we go again." You know why? And I know some of you going to say, "What's wrong with sharing culture?" I'm really tired of that line you guys come up in my my DM going, "What's wrong with sharing culture?" White folks always say that And some of you black say that too.
What's what's wrong with sharing culture? I'm like, "There's nothing wrong with that. You're missing the point. It's like I'm tired of seeing that. I'm tired of seeing a white person learning some dance and we're cheering them the on. Enough of that. And they wear your hairstyle, braid your hair. That ain't a compliment anymore to me. How about this? I want to see a white person giving all they they took from you back. I want to see in South Africa, which that's in South Africa, I want to see them giving you your land back, getting you out of these shanty towns and not having that apartheid attitude. That's what I want to see. I want to see your economy better. I want to see Africa in general with a better economy, stop this colonial mentality. I want that cuz that video right there is how the they took over in the first place. They say, "Hey, show me a little dance. Show me a little dish. Show me a little song." And bam, all your is taken. That's all I'm saying. This is me being on the side of South Africans. And this I like I said, there's nothing wrong with sharing cultures. But we some culture sharing with no no respect. You understand? But nobody wants to share all the they've taken from you.
Like the diamond mines, all the diamonds and the resources. They come taking all your but then they want to learn a god dance. You need to dance your ass over to that land and give me that back. That's all I'm saying, man. That is all I'm saying. No disrespect, but I can't wait to hear your comments.
