Yeah, 629 million shares valued at 40.8 billion naira traded in a bit over 2,200 deals. And before we go further, I'd like to thank everyone who's taking out the time to like, to share, to subscribe, to engage with this content.
Every time you do so, you enable us get closer to our goal. The goal of Green Ticker Platforms is to educate and inform people about happenings across markets.
A lot of it is equities about equity markets. A lot of it is about Nigerian equities market, but we are about financial markets. So, yes, as long as it has to do with finance at some point in time, probably I will discuss it. As for questions or feedback, you can drop in the comment section or send an email to [email protected].
So, our pick of the day, pick of the day is a new segment introduced where we take a stock in the pre-market coverage and dissect it, break it apart, and look at the numbers, going to a bit more detail than we usually would do with other stocks. International Energy Insurance is tomorrow's pick of the day.
I'll be discussing it in tomorrow's pre-market video. The pre-market video is usually up by 6:00 a.m.
Nigerian time. So, 6:00 a.m. West African time, that's Nigerian time.
Pre-market uh video is up. And if you have the time, or if you find this if you want earlier coverage, 5:00 a.m. Nigerian time, the audio version of things is usually out.
So, let's get into um the top gainers and losers, as well as most actively traded stocks by volume and value. Airtel Africa, the single reason, I dare say the main reason why the market closed in the green today.
Airtel Africa appreciating by 10% to close at 3,655 naira and 70 kobo. International Energy Insurance, and this is the main reason why, aside the fact that International Energy Insurance has its public offer on at the moment, was one of the top gainers for the day. So, that's why we decided to make it pick of um the day.
International Energy Insurance appreciating by 9.68% it closed at 3.974 kobo a share. On the loser side of things, McNichols led the losers declining by 10% it closed at 7.20 kobo.
TIP initiates uh fell by 9.94% it closed at 3.945 kobo. FCMB was the most actively traded stock by volume, 198 million shares traded. And next was Access Corporation with 69.6 million shares traded. On the value side of things, Zenith Bank at two pole position with 4.98 billion naira worth of shares traded. FCMB second spot 4.59 billion naira worth of shares traded. Ladies and gentlemen, we're not done. We're not done. There's lots of information. I guess we'll also refresh um lots of numbers.
We are waiting for I've extracted some, but I just want to see if there's anything else major that I need to uh discuss. Um Nothing much. Okay, let's bring out the Austin Laz information we can close this. Austin Laz has its EGM extraordinary general meeting holding virtually next month June 18th, 2026.
Um uh the company will be seeking shareholder approval to raise additional capital of up to 2.1 billion naira. Um um via either a private placement or business combination of major or um hybrids. And a board will also seek shareholder approval to allot new ordinary shares in connection with the the aforementioned matter at a price of 5 naira per share or as or as otherwise determined um by the board. So, that's Austin Laz.
Let's go to Nigerian Breweries dropped their full year uh numbers, interim numbers, interim full year numbers. 1.3 billion naira in revenue and a loss after tax of 44.1 million million naira.
So, that's for Nigerian NEMA where they NEMA where I think they make aluminum products.
They like they give a breakdown of what they do.
Yep.
I'm just trying to see if they have I'm just seeing here. All right, so they are into the business manufacturing manufacturing and marketing of NEMA where plastic products, galvanized products. Essentially, steel and aluminum um products. So, that's that. Fidelity Bank dropped its Q1 numbers. I wish its numbers had come out last week.
It would have been a mid for a more robust call.
What do we have? Uh 434.9 billion naira in uh gross earnings.
Profit after tax of 74.4 billion naira and an earnings per share Oh, wow.
That's a big bounce.
Uh am I seeing correctly?
Uh did you annualize this?
I'm seeing an earnings per share of 569 copper. Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to do my maths.
Uh permit me to do my maths. I like to be accurate. So, uh profits uh profits after tax of 74.4 billion.
Uh okay. So, um trying to calculate the earnings per share. Earnings per share is profit divided by number of shares.
What do we have as a number of shares here? Can we use this?
Um Let's see what we have.
Trying to figure out their OS.
I just I just want to be sure if these numbers were annualized. I don't I don't Fidelity usually annualizes but Let's let's see.
Let's see the figures. 74.4 74.4 billion naira in profit after tax.
Okay, so what's the OS?
Um 63.1. So, can we do the math?
63.0 74.4 divided by 63.1.
All right, annualized.
So, in case you're wondering the rigmarole I did, uh the figure you see here is an annualized figure, meaning that if you take assume that they maintain a steady run rate of 1.1 as a subtraction, this is the full year earnings per share they will have. And some firms usually will do that. Uh but it's important that you work out your numbers. And of course, quarter versus quarter I mean, quarterly performance varies. Uh so, please um yes, if they can do 5.69 kobo in full year earnings per share, not bad. Uh but this is just the first quarter. You have three quarters to go. Figures most likely will go up and down. So, um yeah, it's important you know that figures most likely would go up and down. So, the actual earnings per share, ladies and gentlemen, for Q1 2026 for uh Fidelity Bank is 1.17. And if you multiply that by four, that gives you 1.68. So, at this at this point in time, I'm I'm Is there an error in the numbers? Is there something I'm missing?
I just I'm a bit confused.
Well, I think the best bet and probably we will do this um uh I think at any rate, there'll be a Fidelity Bank podcast over the holidays.
There'll be a Fidelity Bank podcast. Uh so, but just for your own calculations, take the profit um after tax as 74.4 billion, right? And if you want to get the outstanding shares to number of shares in question, all you have to do is to say, "Look, you have a market cap of 1.5 um trillion naira.
And then you have a singular share. You take that, and most likely it should give you a figure around this. So, please, please, and please, do not assume, ladies and gentlemen, do not assume. This is not This is an annualized figure, right? That's not a quarterly earnings per share. So, it's important you know that. I hope you found this useful. Thank you for watching. I thank you for listening.
Catch me, uh ladies and gentlemen, you can catch me tomorrow 6:00 a.m. at YouTube Critical Warrior. I'll be discussing tomorrow's pre-market coverage. I thank you for listening.
Stay safe.
