[00:00:23][music] Pokungri [music] is a village and administrative circle located in Melery subdivision of P [music] district Nagland, India. It is 289 kilometers from the state capital Kohima which takes about 10 to 12 hours [music] by road.

[00:00:50]It has 11 villages surrounding the village such as Avangong, [music] Laruri and Cebu. As per the 2011 census, Pokungri headquarter had a population of about 259 residents [music] and 629 in Pokungri village. The village is primarily agrarian in lifestyle with many engaged in cultivation.

[00:01:12]The community is predominantly Christian [music] marked by a prominent hilltop cross that serves as a local landmark.

[00:01:24]Bokongri has a major river flowing called the Tizu River which is a significant river system popular for fishing [music] and angling and serves as a vital water source.

[00:01:35]The village is also well known for good abundance of [music] homegrown vegetables and fruits.

[00:01:43]It [music] also has young population around enjoying the innocence of simplicity of rural life.

[00:01:59]Young children are seen playing not with commercialized [music] toys, but with bamboo steels made out of what is locally available. [music] and they compete among themselves to see who will be the last one standing [music] or walking.

[00:02:44]The village has one [music] high school, two government primary schools and one Christian mission primary school.

[00:02:52]Pokungri has a high altitude scenic landscapes and lush evergreen forests with rolling hills, winding roads and pristine mistas.

[00:21:36]But one cannot [music] deny that Pokungri has one of the best tourist destinations in Nagaland that offers opportunities for ecoourism, adventure tourism and immersive cultural experiences near the Myanmar border. And hopefully in time there will be growth and development and also demand for the brand of organic avocados from this little avocado village.
