Now, President William R's administration, ladies and gentlemen, has been dealt a major cyber security scare after the official state house website was reportedly hacked this morning with attackers allegedly demanding a ransom in Pitcoin before restoring access. You know, we are wondering what is really happening in Kenya. But according to the reports emerging today, the cyber attack resulted in the temporary devestment of the website with unauthorized messages appearing on the homepage. Ladies and gentlemen, the attackers are said to have demanded five bitcoin estimated to be worthy approximately 41 million Kenyan shillings ladies and gentlemen and they have issued a deadline for payment. We are wondering where are we?

[00:02:49]You know the incident prompted an immediate response from the government officials and cyber security teams who moved swiftly to take the website offline to prevent you know further unauthorized access. The Ministry of Information Communication and the digital economy confirmed that investigations are underway to establish the source of the attack and determine whether any sensitive government information was compromised.

[00:03:25]Cabry William Kabogo actually serving under which ministry ICT if I'm not wrong. He has stated that the government activated it is a cyber security response protocols shortly after discovering the breach.

[00:03:47]He noted that at the time of uh issuing the statement there was no confirmed evidence indicating that confidential data had been stolen.

[00:04:00]Although forensic investigations remain ongoing, ladies and gentlemen, the hacking of the state house website has sparked widespread debate across the country with many Kenyans raising concerns about the cyber security or rather the security of government digital infrastructure. Cyber security experts have also warned that public institutions continue to face increasing threats from hackers targeting critical online systems.
