This rare feat is a perfect example of survivorship bias that masks the harsh economic reality of solo mining. It celebrates a statistical outlier in a system where industrial-scale competition has made such individual victories nearly impossible.

THIS GUY SOLO MINED A BITCOIN BLOCK!!Added:
[music] [music] >> Hey guys, right from money here. Hope you're doing well, having a really great day. This video. All right, I want to talk to you guys about a gentleman in our community that has hit a Bitcoin block on Brains solo about 11 days ago.
All right, so he was solo mining to Brains solo pool and so I'm going to talk about, you know, how much hash rate did he have, you know, what was his difficulty, his best share, and you know, what are the chances of him hitting a block, you know, we're going to go through that in this video, current difficulty of Bitcoin, Bitcoin's network hash rate, but I just want to show first here, okay, I was waiting to get the footage from him. And so this is the gentleman that hit the block and he's going to show us which miner, which Bitcoin miner specifically, and it was from Metered Mining, Mr. Sidney from Metered Mining himself. And he has a pretty big GPU facility as well as ASIC hosting as well. Um, he's got a couple of containers. Uh, so this is a recent video. I don't know if you guys remember, but I visited his facility about what, two and a half years ago. I did a video visiting him and he's definitely expanded in terms of adding a lot of containers, ASIC containers as you guys can see. Looks like three gig containers. Also, he's got some, like new transformers that have been added as well. So, I believe this is the giga container he's got right here that has the Bitcoin miner that was mining for about two months to Brains solo pool.
And in total, I think he had about six to seven petahash mining to Brains solo pool. All right, so this is where he's going in and he's going to show us which miner specifically hit it and look at the wall >> [laughter] >> of ASIC miners here and I believe it was specifically an S19J XP. And he was going to show us the sticker right there. S19J XP 151. So, there it is. That's just insane. So, it wasn't with an S21, you know, XP or S21 or What'sminer or, you know, another brand of of ASIC miners. It was an Antminer S19J XP 151T.
So, it was block height 947128.
Okay, so before I keep on going here explaining, you know, his best share, going through more things here. Metered Mining wants to give away a freaking Bitmain Antminer L9.
This model right here hosted at Metered Mining at 8 cents. So, the miner is free, but the electricity you just have to pay for the hosting, which is 8 cents per kilowatt hour. So, how we're going to be giving this away? We have a live stream set on May 22nd at 6:00 p.m.
Pacific time, 9:00 p.m. Eastern time zone. We're going to be doing a members-only giveaway for those that are members of the Red Panda Mining channel.
We are going to be doing members-only where we're going to use Wheel of Names and I can export all the members of the Red Panda Mining channel. And we're going to do a simple round-robin style giveaway. So, there's going to be eight rounds. The first round will be choosing the first 50 names, second round I'll choose the next 30 names, third round 15 names, so on and so forth, all the way to the eighth and final round will be choosing the winner. Okay? So, each round we're just basically making the list smaller and smaller and then we'll choose the final winner of the Antminer L9 from Metered Mining. Just insane. So, if you want more entries, you can become a RPM 100 GPU miner, which will give you two entries, or an RPM massive mining farmer, which will give you five entries, or the RPM 10 megawatt Bitcoin miner, which will give you 20 entries.
So, before the first round starts, you have to become a member, and then you can join in on the giveaway, not after.
So, if anyone that has multiple entries, you could be put into the wheel of names, and if you've been chosen after, like let's say the first round, you can be put into the second round, third round, if you had more entries, so on and so forth. So, live stream is set.
Make sure you guys' notifications are on. Thank you, Mr. Metered Mining, for this L9 for the RPM community here. Just insane. And, I just want to thank today's video sponsor, Brains Hash Power. And, we're going to be doing a $25, almost six petahash hash rate giveaway in today's video here. So, just comment down below your guys' thoughts of Mr. Metered Mining hitting a Bitcoin block, which is absolutely insane. So, just comment down below your thoughts. I will choose the winner after about 24 hours after this video is uploaded. Hit that like and subscribe if you haven't already. So, you'll get almost a six petahash rental for about two hours for your chance to hit a Bitcoin block. So, thank you to Brains Hash Power for sponsoring today's video. Perfect video to try and hit a Bitcoin block. Let's do it, my friends. Okay. So, let's go along here. So, Metered Mining, they did a expose, and actually, he also messaged me that day as well when he found it.
He's like, "Dude, I just hit a Bitcoin block." I'm like, "What? No way, man."
And, he showed me which cold storage he had it on. I'm not going to dox which one he had it on, but it was unreal. You know, hitting a like, I think it was 240, 100 250,000 dollars at the time, which was just insane. So, he also sent me the video of him opening up Foreman and he can see here the Antminer S19 J XP and locally to the IP he is showing us the miner here S19 J XP 151 terahash and you can see the Bitcoin address which corresponds with the address okay in the block that you guys can see right here okay 3.11841360 BTC just crazy and the 0.0156 went to Brain's pool for their I think they have a 1% fee on their pool. But yeah, you can see here it was going to solo.stratum.brains.com and just him going down here. Okay, he shows that the blocks found is one.
Okay, look at that.
All right, it says one there and it says best share I believe this would be 395 T.
Okay, one month uptime but he said he had it on for solo mining his whole farm of uh six to seven petahash for about two months until he hit a block which is insane. So, that was pretty cool to see that right? And so right now okay, I'm on his uh address on solo.brains.com.
You can see he's hitting about 6.4 petahash here and so looking at the full data um in his miner it said 397 or something but here best share shows that he's at 601.
Okay, this could be the 601 uh T. So, I believe this would be the best share in terms of that S19 J XP hitting over you know, the 132 T and actually that was uh about 11 days ago. So, that could have been actually as of recording the difficulty for Bitcoin at the time when he hit the block was 135.59 T. So, if he hit over you know, he hit over that of course I think uh according to here 601 T which again, from what I understand is Yeah, he he did it, which is just insane. So, over the past 7 days, he shows 6.66 petahash. So, what are the chances of, you know, him hitting a block, you know, with 6.66 petahash? Well, let's just go to solo chance.org, and let me just put in 6.6, okay, petahash.
And so, with that amount, current network hash rate is 1.07 zetahash, which is a lot. Bitcoin's price now is over 80K. I think before that was under 80K when he hit that block. So, block reward is 3.125 Bitcoin. Of course, depending where you're solo mining, if you're doing it locally, uh you don't have to pay a 1 or 2% fee to the pool, which, you know, majority of people solo mining these days are solo mining to their own Bitcoin node, like a public pool one, or a Futurebit one, or or Retro Mike's one-click install, Umbrel Bitcoin node, all that stuff. But anyways, with 6.6 petahash, his chance of hitting a block, let's say, per hour is 1 in 26,949 chance. A day, he has 1 in 1,123 chance per day to hit a Bitcoin block.
So, over the past, he said, 2 months that he was mining to Brain Solo Pool.
In a month here, it's a 1 in 37 chance to hit a block. In a year, he's got a 1 in 3 chance. So, he's got a pretty good chance to hit a block, at least one block a year. And he hit it in 2 months with 6.6 petahash, which is super lucky.
I'm going to have to say he was incredibly lucky, right? Very, very lucky. He's got a 1 in 2 chance until the next Bitcoin halving, which is happening in about 2 years from now.
Absolutely incredible. So, you guys remembered, I visited Metered Mining back in about July of 2024. It's about good 2 years ago, 2 and 1/2 years ago.
And, you know, I visited their facility, GP mining facility. It was incredible.
They didn't have A6 at the time.
but they did have a few in the GPU facility, but then they expanded in adding the giga containers and there's Mr. Sydney himself, the lucky gentleman who hit the block. He's extremely grateful for hitting that block and I'm just extremely excited for him. Now, soon I'm going to be visiting them again because of course, as you guys saw in this video, they have expanded quite a bit in terms of adding containers and such. And also inside their GPU facility, they've also added a lot more inside there. So, he told me if anyone is looking for ASIC hosting, they do have a few slots available. So, go check them out, link down below and reach out to them. Ask for the Red Panda deal and he'll help you get set up. I love looking inside the container here of the wall of ASIC miners. It's It's just It's just insane, but yeah. Man, hitting a block with, you know, an ASIC miner like this, an S19J XP 151, just incredible.
Like I would love to one day hit a block. I'm sure you guys would as well.
As you all know, I've been trying to solo mine with, you know, a bunch of little miners. I even tried solo mining with my S21 XP for a good couple months.
I gave up quite fast, you know, and you know, it it it's expensive, right? If someone's going to try and solo mine, you know, it's it's all based on luck and, you know, a few other variables, maybe latency if people consider that or but honestly, we've been seeing some Nerd QX++ hitting blocks. We've been seeing Octa X 8 blocks, Avalon Qs hit blocks and they're all on Wi-Fi. So, you know, it's it's just luck of the draw, really. It's really truly luck of the draw that I've been seeing. Like when you go to mempool.space, if you type in, let's say Braiins, okay, you can actually sort by look up Braiins solo and you can see the the blocks that some people hit. So, Mr. Metered Mining, Mr. Sydney here had hit this block here, right? 947128.
Then 3 months ago, there's another person that hit it And then, if you go to like you type in solo uh CK in their search bar at mempool.space, you can see, right? Even 2 months ago, there's people hitting blocks, right? On CKPool.org. I know public pool, I think public pool's also another one that's been hitting blocks quite a bit recently, 5 days ago. So, there there are people hitting blocks, right? People are hitting blocks. Now, it's on average over year over year, it's been between like 20 and like 25 to 30 blocks per year found by solo miners. So, you know, a good 30 people up to 30 people a year could hit a block, right? And so, we have 2 more years left until the halving. So, a good maybe 60 people could hit a Bitcoin block. But, you know, Bitcoin's hash rate, the difficulty is coming down, okay? Right now. So, there are chances. We are seeing more and more people hit blocks. So, in a sense, because the difficulty is dropping and we're seeing, you know, hash rate come off, right? Big farms are turning off.
So, this gives the smaller guy a lot more chance to to hit a block. So, not everyone's going to hit a block, okay?
The reality there is, you know, like I said, you know, 20 to 30 people per year are going to hit a block. Um there's like 113, 114 years left to hit a Bitcoin block collectively, right? I think collectively on average would be about 2,500 to 3,000 people in the next 114 years. So, just to put in perspective, right? Not everyone's going to hit a block, but, you know, up to about 3,000 people could hit a block in the next 114 years. If you're going to try and solo mine, just understand it's it's uh you know, it's a risky endeavor. Maybe if you had one of these miners like uh you know, the Red Panda Hammer BC04 Edition 1 with the Ethernet. Really cool, guys. Go check it out. plebsource.com. Use code RPM 5% off. But, you know, say someone just had one of these and maybe you're going to be spending 10 to $20 a month in electricity just to run one of these at your home, right? Lots of people do that and it's not a very big expense, but when it comes to people trying to solo mine much more like Mr. Metered Mining did, right? With 6 petahash, that's that's a lot, right? I think he spend you're spending a thousands of dollars depending on what your electrical bill is, but you know, he's spending thousands upon thousands of dollars a month trying to solo mine, right? And if he didn't hit a block within a year, you know, that could be the electrical bill there could be five digits, right? But he took the risk, right? He took the risk and mining with, you know, a good amount of this is a lot. 6.6 petahash is a lot of hash rate and the chance of him hitting a block is obviously much higher because he has much more effective hash rate, which gives him that ability to hit that block, which he did, okay? And just incredible. Hats off to you, Sydney, man. This is such a huge thing for, I guess, the our community here. You're really the first person I know to really like hit a block, you know, publicly and like reach out and, you know, say Red Panda, "Hey, I hit a block, man." And you know, you sent me this footage, which is really cool, really cool for me to, you know, showcase to everyone here.
I think this is, you know, just showing that it is possible to hit a block. It is possible. So, the possibility is there whether or not you have, you know, a few miners or you have, you know, 6 to 7 petahash, which, man, I would love to to do that. I think right now I have about 4 petahash of Bitcoin mining.
Maybe I should try doing that, but >> [sighs and gasps] >> you know, [laughter] if I don't hit a block in the next year, I'll be I'll paying out of pocket, right? It's the risk, right? If someone's willing to take that, maybe, let's say you have a lot of cash flow available and you're willing to take that risk, then, you know, so be it. You're going to take that risk in hitting a block, but anyways, guys, yeah, this is I just the video here. I just wanted to make this on Mr. Metered Mining hitting a block and as well don't forget about the freaking L9 giveaway, okay? There's going to be a live stream spooled up and we're going to have some fun and it's going to be for members only of the RPM channel. So you just got to sign up. I think it's about $3 just for the month to subscribe. You just have to subscribe subscribe for 1 month and you're going to have a chance to get an L9 hosted at Metered Mining, okay? So we're going to do like a round robin type of thing with there. So there's be a live stream. We're going to do it live. All right, I'll see you all in the next video. Let me know your thoughts as well. Just comment down below for the hash rate giveaway as well from Brain's hash power. All right, you guys have a good one.
Peace out. Peace out.
Look at him. Look at it. Look at this guy.
Lucky guy.
