I Built an AI Voice Assistant That Takes Restaurants Calls 24/7…Added:
This project stretched me in ways I didn't even expect. Let me tell you how it all started. So at first, I thought AI automation was just about connecting workflows and watching things running in the background. But moving from basic automations to building a voice agent, that's a different ballgame entirely.
This one taught me patience. The type that when you troubleshoot the same issue for hours, fix one thing for days, break another one, and still come back the next day to try to fix it. If you're trying to grow in tech, whether social media management, digital marketing, any tech at all, web design, development, software, back end, front end, middle end, anywhere at all, one trait that you absolutely need is resilience. In fact, let me not sugarcoat it for you. You must possess the virtue of long-suffering. The goal of this project was simple: build an AI voice assistant for a restaurant that can answer incoming phone calls, take customer orders, handle reservations, respond to inquiries about the menu, the restaurant, their services, their products, any other inquiry possible, and also reduce missed calls during busy hours. Here's the interesting part. The voice assistant was built using Vapi, while Anytown handled the automation workflow behind the scene. How sweet.
Once a customer calls, the AI assistant responds naturally, collects the customer's request, logs the information automatically, sends instant notification to the restaurant via Telegram. So instead of losing customers because nobody picked phone calls, the restaurant now has a system that works 24/7.
No missed calls, no missed orders, no missed reservations, no forgotten orders, no unnecessary revenue leaks.
What excites me most in this is not just the automation itself, but the real-world problem that solves.

This is the part of AI automation that I am starting to fall in love with.
Building systems that actually improve [snorts] operations and customer experience. And yes, after all the debugging, testing, failed attempts, and why is this node even behaving like this moment? It finally worked perfectly. I saw it through work perfectly, several testing, and I published it live, and it worked perfectly.
So, what I need you to do after watching this whole TEDx speech, I need you to reshare this content, subscribe to my channel, and let me know your thoughts in the comment section. That would go a long way. Thank you very much for watching. Bye.
