Frodo's empathy for Gollum: ill-advised, noble? What does Judaism say #lotr #lordoftherings #podcastAdded:
how much of this was really Gollum's fault. You know, he stumbled upon the ring. The ring found him. He got corrupted by it, which it corrupts everybody from Bilbo down to Frodo down to whoever touches it. So, it's not Gollum's fault and and therefore how can I It's like killing myself if I kill Gollum in a certain way. So I do think there is a extra layer of empathy that Frodo has and maybe it's as you said earlier beautifully that maybe it's I can't kill Gollum because I have to know that I you know I have to believe and there's some goodness left and now what am I and so I think that's an important thing to also bring in here that there is a certain relatability between Froto and Gollum.
