[00:00:00]Africa has always been, uh, it is scary to humanity and some of the plight that we have now will not change until, uh, the Africans themselves have changed.

[00:00:09]>> For someone that doesn't understand what apartheid is, [music] can you explain to us what that is?

[00:00:14]>> It was a system of governance, I would say, that was really based on racial profiling of, uh, society. It has got, uh, significant psychological impact because you live in a township and, uh, you grow up believing that's what you meant for.

[00:00:34]>> Why do South Africans feel so economically excluded? Being angry that other nationals, South African nationals are taking over their job.

[00:00:42]>> South Africa is one place where there is incredible amount of violent crime. No one is safe. No one. People live in gated communities. But even then, you're not safe. And you look back as to [music] what has caused all of this. You know, overwhelmingly the rich of South Africans, 80% plus, were completely marginalized. You find a situation where people lack education. The huge unemployment is way over 50%.

[00:01:12]A large number of young people who've got energy and purpose and hope need to find job and government is not creating jobs.

[00:01:22]>> The country has been on autopilot.

[00:01:23]There's no leadership. Why do you think they believe foreigners are the problem?

[00:01:29]>> We have such a low self-esteem and such a low regard of of self and as as a nation.

[00:01:37]It's not only the way South Africans treat, uh, other African brothers and sisters, but it is also the way our South African black people also treat themselves.
