When investing in precious metals like silver and gold, investors should avoid FOMO (fear of missing out) and instead use dollar-cost averaging to build positions over time; the key indicators to watch include market stability (slow price swings rather than rapid fluctuations), premium levels on coins, and the ratio of buyers to sellers in the market, as these factors determine whether the market is healthy or at risk of a correction.

Silver & Gold - Things To Watch Out For..Added:
Hello. How you guys doing? Welcome.
Welcome to another at the coin dealer with special guest right below us. So secret.
>> I'm here and I'm not driving. It's cool.
>> I know, right?
>> I don't know how special guest he is. I mean, he's been on what, three times now in a row.
>> Yeah, but we kept catching him driving and this time he's not driving. Anyway, we're going to talk about silver and gold.
>> I'm sorry. things to watch out for. Um, could be relative to price, could be relative to authenticity. We're going to get into all that right after we say hello everybody. Uh, you want to introduce yourself?
>> Uh, yes. I'm Mike with Mid America Coins, guys, as you guys well know. Uh, great to be here. We we always like being here and I just wanted to ask uh Seeker down there if he could please run to Costco and pick me up a bag of chips and then get back here before the show ends. Okay, go ahead.
>> All the all the way to Costco for just chips. Eh, >> if you don't mind.
>> Okay. Now, I'll get them. I'll bring them to you at the show next week.
>> So, used to you driving.
>> Yeah. I I'll bring them to you at the show next week. Is that what you want?
>> That'll be fine.
>> I will trade them for a Roose Chris steak.
>> Now, you know, I heard one of us >> We don't have Bruce Chris here.
>> Oh, >> one of us here >> is what I heard.
I wonder who that is.
quicker than the rest or at least going to have a birthday sooner. So, happy birthday.
>> Oh, thank you.
>> Yeah, happy birthday. Happy birthday, Mike. What are you turning?
>> Happy birthday.
>> 45.
>> Yeah. Yeah, that's right. That's close >> because I know I know Keith is like going on 90, so you got to be around 45.
>> Yeah, we're about half the age of each other.
>> Well, I figured. Okay, >> man. This weather up here, you know what's happening up here in Michigan with the weather? It's like 80 degrees during the day >> and it drops to 50 or lower at night and it's like it's got me sniffling and stuff. I'm like >> because your air is coming on and then it gets cold in your house at night.
Terrible. Terrible. Why is this this darn chat thing ain't working? It's not moving. Anyway, folks, if you got any questions you want us to highlight, just put three question marks in front of it so we can see it more easily. Now, um, silver and gold's been holding up pretty good. Gold's been right in that 4500 range, and silver's been in the 75 range. Now, it's been kind of consistent for what, a couple weeks now. It's been fluxing up and down slightly where gold dropped down below 44, but it keeps bouncing back. Uh, right now, gold is sitting at 447930.
Asked on KitKo, silver is sitting at 7506.
So, one of the things I think you should be looking for is how it's actually selling. Because if people aren't buying it, what I've been noticing is that, you know, I know physical silver doesn't affect the paper price, but if people aren't buying it, I noticed the price tends to dip and then it goes right back up. Now, what do you think some of the strength for that is, guys? What What's making it besides the fact of it going down, what's making it come back so quick? You guys have any idea, any thoughts on that? Since he's a special guest, I'll let him start.
>> Uh, you're fine. I mean, I have no idea.
It could be just the people that are into paper silver believe that silver is where it's supposed to be. So, when it dips, they buy. What stackers are buying, like you just said, don't affect that. So, >> I mean, the only the only thing stackers buying is going to affect for the most part is just premiums.
>> Yeah. The physical premiums.
>> Yeah. And premiums seem to be getting pretty low on generics. Um, what are you guys selling them for, actually?
Uh cash value is uh spot rounded down to the dollar.
>> So right now uh 7503 so it' be 75.
>> That's what you're selling them for.
>> Spot rounded down.
>> Nice. What about you Mike?
>> And then if it's on I even told a customer today I'm selling it spot.
>> Yeah.
>> When I sell it for credit card which I'm kind of getting beat up on. I go spot rounded up to the dollar.
>> Yeah.
>> Make it 76. Because I because on YouTube when we sell it through YouTube if they spend 150 bucks they get free shipping.
So that kind of beats me up and we have processing.
>> I think you're picking on a credit card people.
>> Well I mean so you're losing a couple if you're selling a spot even at 76 on a credit card. Uh even before shipping you're losing money.
>> Yeah.
>> You're paying 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction. And that's what's really funny is I was I had a YouTube auction Sunday had 50 pieces up for sale at 76 which spot was I think 70 7547.
So >> I just want I do want to remind the viewers when you go on my site looks like we're selling over but if you read the fine print above us where we said call for better pricing that's we are working on a brand new website. We're going to be doing some changes where we'll be able to go to the clicker now and be able to work right right now on Shopify. We don't have that luxury. So, we're we're fixing that problem now.
>> Yeah, I know there's Shopify plugins that do that, but I don't know how they work and I don't have one on my site because I don't I don't sell anything like you guys do. I just have little collectible stuff.
>> I kind of I don't have >> I don't sell boolean per se. I'm sorry.
Go ahead.
>> I was saying I don't have Shopify hosted my site. So my site's kind of dead because it doesn't move with spot and I GoDaddyy's not offering that that program and >> well it has nothing to do with GoDaddy.
GoDaddy is either a host or a register that has nothing to do with >> we are hiring in a website company to run our website the whole nine yards. We very >> and you know the bottom line is we have a ton of product we need to start moving. uh one of the other big companies use this site, they're they're working with me and I think the money I'm going to spend with them is going to be worth it.
>> See, that that goes to show you with techie being a seeker and Mike got kids that are techies, me, I'm nothing. I just had to pull all my bullion off my website. I I couldn't keep up with the fluctuations fast enough. Every time I turned around, we was selling silver. It was like five bucks under spot, six bucks under spot. I just couldn't keep up with it. I was selling on one price and then I was pay. It reminds me of a coin.
>> I don't I don't know why you drew me into that because I don't sell bullion on my website. I just have a little website that sells collectible stuff and mystery boxes and stuff.
>> Well, I'm not trying to draw you in. I'm saying the fact that you're a techie.
You know, you would know how to fix it.
>> Gotcha.
>> I don't know how to how to how to make that work.
>> Hey, what's up, Budwat? Budweat wants to know if this thing's on.
>> Okay. Uh let's let's uh let's get over some questions here from the chat, guys.
Um, please uh if you feel like it, give us a thumbs up and a share to help the show out a little bit. So, here we go from uh Steo Sharet. Do y'all think silver's going to stay throughout 75 throughout the year or is it going to jump?
>> I mean, I don't have an answer. I don't have an answer for that. I >> I don't I don't had a crystal ball. I would like for it to start making the move up slowly. Uh, I know a lot of people would like it to go down. Uh, but you know, either way, if it did move slow down because I hedge everything, I can make it work. But I would like for it to start moving up a little bit.
>> A little bit slower swings. Uh, lower or slower, however you want to say it.
Swing.
>> Slower is what I said. I don't want it to fly up like it did. Uh, that just scares a lot of people both ways. We have a bunch of people thinking, "Oh, it hit the max. They're rushing in and then they kind of get upset with the LCS's because they're they don't know what to do and they're get at the Murphy's and these founder companies and stuff. They want to offer lower because they want to protect ourselves.
>> Well, the thing is uh it doesn't matter whether it's a 10 or $20 swing. It just has to come at a slower pace. This $10 in a couple weeks or a month, that's a lot to swallow. And I think that kind of destroys not just the physical buyer's confidence, but even some of the people on the paper. I think it would affect them slightly.
>> Well, see, we're we're right now on a 3070 swing again. And what I mean by that, we got 70% of our our customers coming in are selling again and we got 30% buying.
>> We go question.
>> Yeah, go ahead. Are premiums going up on junk silver at your shop? Not at this time. I'm still selling below melt. What about you, Mike?
>> No, actually I got a call again. I got two people coming in tomorrow selling 90%. Uh we're hardly selling even doing back a spot. We're hardly selling enough to make it work. It's like I said, we're at a 7030 again. I didn't I thought we was out of the woods. Everything was looking good. I love being 5050. that works out. But when you start buying more and you're selling, you start looking at, okay, what do we do? Because right now, guys, we don't want to send anything to the product companies. We're at that door that do we keep going or not?
>> Well, Steo's got a >> Steo's got a great question.
>> Uh, why does the Asian market and other world markets report a higher spot price? Why is there a disconnect? I'm a new stacker. Thank you, Steo. Uh, anybody want to handle that one?
>> I don't know.
Uh, let let me Google that for you would be my response because I don't have an answer for you.
>> Uh, I have Googled it before and and I believe it's because the Asian market is in more physical demand and they're actually showing it on the paper side.
They are actually trying to gather up more silver.
>> Yeah, it it is uh true. They're using it in a lot of industries over there right now and they are buying strong to keep up with demand.
>> I think what's happening and this is just my opinion >> there there is like South Africa a few other countries refusing to sell their silver right now.
>> I think some of the Asian countries are just trying to gather up all the silver and then we're everybody else is without and then they can you know if you own it's he who has the most controls the price. I think it's maybe what's trying to go on here, but whether that's actually happening, I don't know. I just >> Nobody want nobody can say 100% that.
But the thing is, it does look like it could be a controlling deal.
>> Basically, they want it more than we do and that's why the price is higher. Uh guys, >> they higher at the shows too to me. So, >> of small ounce silver to own before going bigger. So, is there a certain amount in smaller ounces? Just buy what you can afford. There's no certain number. What do you guys think?
>> Well, I think you should leave the questions up on the screen till I answer it. I didn't know what you said.
I'm just sorry. I'm sorry.
>> I read them and then I pull them off.
>> Oh, okay.
>> He's been doing that for weeks, Tim Seager. I mean, I I got to hope I understood what it said before he zaps it.
>> There are certain Oh, you can you can hide it. Is there a certain amount of small ounce to own before going bigger?
>> Slow and steady.
>> Uh, by small ounce, do you mean like un like fractional like under an ounce?
>> I think he's talking about quantity.
>> Oh, >> I think he's talking about quantity.
There's a certain quantity a small stacker should try to achieve.
>> Gotcha.
>> Yeah, because I was going to tell you fractional I just stack 90%.
Because of the premium on on smallers.
Yeah, >> but as far as I tell people to stack what they can afford.
>> Oh, definitely.
Here we go. Mud swat says underrated coins, Franklin half-dollar, speech dollars, war nickels, 40% silver quarters. Uh he is selling that to Ru Bazaar. Uh I think the one of of all of these that you've mentioned, they're all under underrated. I think the quarter is a 40% quarter because there was only one year that they made it.
>> That's true.
>> I think that's a very underrated coin.
>> That is true. I agree with that. Uh but the war nickels, no, I don't think they're underrated. I really don't.
You're going to have a lot of trouble selling war nickels. Even to good, even to good paying shops are not paying good on war nickels right now.
>> Like no one wants them. Nobody wants them. The cost to refine it. I mean, you know, you got a bunch of other metals mixed. When I'm talking about war nickels, I'm talking about the higher quality. I should have specified that higher quality.
>> I thought I thought I thought you meant bullion wise.
>> Yeah, I think higher quality war nickels are undervalued. I don't think the bulk is >> right.
>> You know, you get an 67s used to be up there. Now they're way down. You can buy really affordable. Oh, by the way, in response to that 90% question earlier, if it's getting more expensive, uh, I know two shops right now that are selling for minus five.
What are you guys at?
>> Right in minus4 minus five. So, >> right around 50 times phase, you know, >> yeah, 50 times face is uh, >> it kind of public at the time. I just want to get it in, get it out. I've got a nice small stack to the side or put up or however you want to say it.
>> I got some good customers. I actually because I want to move it. I usually because they do buy a large quantity, I'll let them have for six bucks back >> just so I can move some.
>> So I just try to, you know, just move it.
>> I just don't want to see it go. And guys, listen, the foundry companies are paying about 85% to buy that stuff right now. And the thing is that's about seven, eight bucks back. So I don't want to see a chance of getting melted. I rather say, "Okay, I got a bunch stacked up. My certain customer comes in and says, "Mike, what can you do?" I How much you buying? They usually buying large M. Okay, how about six bucks? It's a little little bit over what if I sent it to them, but guess what? I can guarantee it ain't getting melted down.
>> There you go.
>> There you go. Mm says, "Is there anything going on with the rare coin market? lot of bullion talk, >> but would it be good talk about rare coins also?
Well, as you know, >> lot of hype on rare coins. There's a it's a even in the auctions, it it's moving really good. Actually, I got I I got a letter from an email from Heritage today and I thought it was kind of funny because they sent me an email saying, "Mr. Boyer, if if you are ready to sell your collection, we'd be glad to come, man. Take it off your hand. So, they're looking because they told me the market is hot right now. They need they need more collectibles for their auction.
>> You should uh you should take all of your collectibles and your silver and gold to one of those big national coin buyers.
>> Yeah.
>> No.
>> To see how they treat you.
>> I already That was Friday's video on my channel. I took some gold and silver to one of the national coin buyers.
>> Did you take any collectible coins to them?
>> No, I should have. Didn't think about it.
>> You should have. Yeah, >> they only offered me 3739 for Phil Harmonic when gold was 45.
>> Holy cow. Right.
>> Yeah, >> that's so nice of them. They just want to, you know, take the weight off your hands.
>> Yeah. You know, it's good. It's a good number.
>> Okay. Mud squad says, "I can't see myself paying 40 for just a half ounce.
my buying days may be over for a while.
I get it. Everybody has a level once they reach their reach the inventory that they want. Whether >> you know what's crazy about like what Mudswe said is that I believe >> I believe that um you know for silver to get really hot again, it's either going to have to like cross the $100 an ounce again because it's going to get exciting or it's going to have to drop under 40.
And the reason I say that is because >> low, >> huh? I think a drop under 40 is too too low for it to spark interest.
>> No, I disagree. I I think 40 is where a lot of the longtime stackers who have much lower DCAs are looking to add more to their stack. So, I think you drop I think if you drop under 40, you're going to see all these longtime stackers that saw it skyrocketed and been waiting around for a while, you're going to see them come back and buy again. And then I think if it goes over 100, it's going to hit air waves again and it's going to make excitement again and people are going to be buying for that reason. I think my point I think what I'm trying to say is that if you see silver continue to hang out in the 70s, low 80s, even into the 60s, high 50s, I I think it's going to stay as dead as it is right now. Unfortunately, that's that's what I think.
>> It's not dead if you're willing to sell at a lower price. But it in turn, if a dealer's selling at a lower price, he's obviously going to have to buy at a lower price.
>> Yeah. Well, obviously >> the cookie crumbles.
>> Yeah. I don't I understand it. Are you're not going to You're not going to offer me You're not going to offer >> I'm letting the public know that if you're find today, you would crash a lot of small dealers. They would be done.
>> What I'm saying is >> they bought in these high >> public that if they would because they're not getting rid of it. They're trying to hold it and sell it. And some of them are selling at five or less just trying to get some of their money back, but at 40 would would hurt them bad.
>> I don't know how would it hurt them. I mean, unless they >> if they ain't got enough coming in. Some of these dealers, they got stuff coming in, but not coming in like we're getting.
>> But 40, I understand that, but 40 just puts it at a lower replacement level.
So, as long as they're working off replacement, how do they lose? Like, they lose when they close up shop and then they have to sell at a loss. But if you know if it drops if it drops to that number and and and business picks up and they're like, "Oh, sweet. We sold 500 ounces today." And then they just go order 500 ounces for a little bit.
>> If they do that, some of them won't do that.
>> Well, I understand some won't do that, but that's not a $40 killing the business uh thing. That's the I don't know how to run my bullion business killing them.
>> Well, here here here's my thoughts about it. And here is why when it peaked up to 100, you had so many coin jobs saying no, I'm not buying because they got to a point kind of almost to the point where Mike's talking about they're going to go out of business. They have to stop buying until they start selling or they would go out of business. Uh and I think that's what he's talking about. If they're not selling it going down, if they had to dump it, they should keep enough cash on hand to where they could last out a year.
It's just like it's just like what happened this weekend when I did a buy and I told you guys a little bit about it.
He's a he's about a mediumsiz dealer. He had to dump a bunch of silver to me just so he can make a buy at a show. The thing is we didn't really come there to buy. We already had what we was going to be buying through different avenues. We wasn't there to really buy, but at the same time we bought, >> right? I did two videos uh to show some of the stuff that came from the vint, some of the stuff that came from the people.
>> Hey, you know, my birthday's coming up, bro. Since you're my brother, you know, I need u you know what I'd love for my birthday? 50 10th ounce dual date proof eagle gold eagles.
>> That would only leave me four.
>> Okay. 54 proof ounce. Then I want >> Yeah, I knew you'd be like that.
>> So, I want to be clear. Uh, Mudwat said, "I don't think silver is going under under 60 again." I don't disagree. I really don't. I mean, I don't have a crystal ball, but I I'd be surprised if it did. And we'll just leave it at that.
I'm just here here's here's my thought.
All right.
You know, if right now I am I have been actively adding less silver to my stack.
>> If silver dropped under 40, I would back the truck up to the door. And I'm not the only one. That's what I'm trying to say is there's a lot of people that when you see silver hit that low again because there's so many people right now especially new stackers that got in is like man I wish I would have buying I would have been buying silver like two years ago and if they get the opportunity to buy it two years ago again I think a lot of them would take advantage of that. That's what I'm trying to say.
>> Well you made a point just that >> you have slowed down the amount of silver you're putting in your stack.
Well, that goes back to the point that we we have all said DCA, dollar cost averaging. We spend the same amount of money. It's just a matter of >> I have slowed down on the amount of money I've been putting.
>> You slow down on the I haven't slowed down on the amount of money. I just slowed down the amount of product.
>> I just keep >> And just for the people watching say, "Oh, silver seekers out of silver." No, I'm definitely still stacking. I just not as aggressively as I was is is what I'm saying.
>> Let's get some questions real quick. So >> on my first walking liberty quarter paid 30 and spot was when I guess it's win spot was 75 which means I paid $250 250 over spot. Is that way too I think you're talking about walking liberty half >> that. Yeah. No, if it's a half dollar that's fine. He's got to be >> talking 30 bucks for it. No, he could have bought it cheaper.
>> Well, it depends on how good the grade was too.
>> It don't matter.
>> He didn't get beat up totally.
It don't matter that my walkers go in my same deals.
>> What if it's an AU?
>> Well, they don't go in the same deal.
>> That's what I'm saying. He could have got a XF45 or an AU in there. So, he didn't get hosed completely if he's just bet picking one out of a bowl. Even if it's a a bullion one, >> it's your first Walker. Enjoy it, man.
Like, you paid a little bit. If you paid a little bit high, whatever. Who cares?
Enjoy it.
>> Yeah, it doesn't matter. Here we go. Uh, so do you think war nickels will be good for barter if things hit the fan? A lot of people like dimes for small. I like dimes better. What do you guys think?
Dimes.
>> I really I'm just not a fan of war nickels. Like I'm just going to be upfront about that. I I don't think I don't think war nickels would be good barter material. I really don't.
>> Mike, >> I already said I would be dimes all the way, >> right?
>> Yep. It'd be dimes for me, too. Uh, so do y'all think silver rounds with Trump on them might have value or are there too many outs? Serious question, guys. U not being political, but it doesn't really matter when it comes to just a round. What is on it? Yes, there is premium rounds out there that if you find the proper collector for it, you can get extra. But when it comes to selling it to a dealer, unless it's a really premium premium silver, you're gonna have to have something like an Eagle or better or a Libertad or a Panda.
>> Well, I got an Eagle with the PCGS label Trump on it. 2017 Eagles graded 70 first strike. Is that worth anymore? It's got Trump name on it. Well, he's saying, "Do you think u with Trump on them might have value?" And >> that's what I'm bringing up. Is is the Trump label for the eagle going to be worth anymore in my book? No. I'll sell to you for saying price, but you know, there's other people that might like it better.
>> What about you, Mike or Seeker?
>> You got to get that $250 bill. That's all I'm saying.
>> $250 bill.
>> You didn't know about that?
>> No.
>> The new the new bill that Yeah.
>> Yeah. the new bill that he talked about with his face on it. A $250 bill.
>> His face can't go on a bill.
>> I'm aware of that and I'm pretty sure he is as well, but that doesn't mean that, you know, he's not good at trolling people.
>> He's definitely good at trolling people.
Here we go.
Big Red Ridge, I have $200 monthly budget to buy precious metals. Do you recommend me buying silver, small fractional gold or constitutional silver? There's not much you can get on the way of gold. So I would say maybe constitutional >> get a grammar and have a little change left. He can get a grammar.
>> Yeah, I go maybe a grand a carded Graham along with >> but then he still wouldn't have enough for an ounce of silver.
>> That's true. So yeah, switch it up. What do you guys think? Uh you you What about you?
>> I missed the question because I'm pulling up a picture of the bill because they So uh the secretary who is the who is the Treasury Secretary?
>> Scott something. Uh anyway, he actually showed this at the White House press room.
>> Okay.
>> Answer this real quick before we show it. Uh >> okay.
>> Um have a $200 budget for precious metals. Uh Big Red Ridge says, "Recommend buying silver or small fraction of gold or constitutional?"
>> I mean, for 200 bucks, you're going to get like one gram and have some money left over. So, I'd say go to silver.
>> Yeah, silver. Maybe every once in a while gram of gold, but go with silver.
I mean, what's the melt on on one gram gold? Like buck 50 today?
>> A little over that.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. I think melts around a buck 40 to a buck 45. So you're looking wholesale is what plus 13 14 15 somewhere in there, >> right?
>> So you're looking probably buck 65, buck 70 m on the low side.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> Here here's here's the bill though. They actually showed this in the White House press room.
>> Hey, I don't like it.
>> I don't like it. I want one. He's having a bad hair day. His wigs are coming loose.
>> I I don't like it either. I'm just saying that it wasn't just like that he posted that on Twitter or something like >> showed it on They actually showed it at the White House press at a White House press conference.
>> I'm going to get it certified, too.
>> Well, would be really cool if they would have put an orange uh on his head.
Remember how that one year he he had his I guess >> uh when I was a teenager they had this um this product you sprayed in your hair to make it blonde. I forget what it was called. Sun something or rather um and you'd put it in your hair and when it first started doing it your hair turned orange.
>> Oh yeah.
>> And then it turned blonde. I sun in maybe or something like that.
>> It's a product in the 80s. In the 80s they had a lot of weird stuff.
>> Like in the 80s it was in the 80s it was fashionable to cover yourself in an oil that helps so you can sit in the sun all day and increase your odds of skin cancer. So I mean >> there go DB Kansas gold to silver ratios 59. What are the arguments for buying silver instead of gold right now? Um I so my argument would be that and this is just my opinion is that I believe that silver is still undervalued and I'm not 100% sure that gold is. I'm not saying it's overvalued but I'm not convinced that it's undervalued right now and I definitely believe silver is. So that's my argument.
>> I think uh my argument holds true the same. I think silver is undervalued.
Having said that, I still keep stacking gold as well because I do believe in its store value and its stability.
>> Yeah. And and don't and don't and don't sell your gold. I'm sorry.
>> Think about it, guys. Just remember either way you go, >> don't get mad at your LCS when he says he needs a little he needs a little bit more than trading even up because he does need to keep his lights on. I so many times I keep having people ask me, "Why can't you go even up?" Well, the thing is we don't operate on even up. If the government operate on even up, we'd be more broker than what we are now.
>> I know, right? They just keep raising the pay. That's why we're so broke.
>> I mean, look at the price. Look at the price for coins today on the Met. I mean, come on. Ain't no way up.
>> Under 40 is what I'm targeting. I've stacked since the 80s. Well, there's someone that agrees with you, Seeker.
>> Well, here's the thing. I didn't say it would happen. I'm just saying that if it did, >> yeah, that's what he's saying.
>> Now, they believe, >> right?
>> You have said it. You have spoke and now it is uh what what what's the word I'm looking for?
>> Holy cow.
>> Gospel or what do they say? How do they say that? Now it is truth. It's on the internet. It must be true, right?
>> Oh yeah, that >> didn't Lincoln say that or something.
>> What?
>> Didn't Didn't Abraham Lincoln say if it's on the internet it must be true?
>> Must have been.
>> Yeah, I saw I saw a picture like a meme of him saying that. If anything, I think PMS will keep going up, says Mudsw.
>> I mean, I think they should. Will they?
I have no idea.
>> Uh, see, Bob has got a good point, and Mike touched on this earlier. Um, a lot of coin dealers don't have the same liquidity as other coin dealers, and that is part of the problem where some of them went out of business and some of them are have problems buying. Um, >> well, some of the guys we lost was the fast hype up and >> that that was uh really sad and bad because one of my guys, he was planning on retiring in about three to four years. He didn't expect to retire this year, but he got himself in a in a bad predicament and uh he kept buying all the way up even when people went on a freeze.
And then he then took that big drop.
He took a bad loss. He took a loan out to help buy the stuff. You know, he did one of them line of credits and it it got pretty nasty. He wind up losing his shop over the whole deal. And I felt sorry for him.
>> I'm not going to mention the guy's name, but it just it was bad that it happened.
I think Mike and Silver Seeker will both agree with me that that is one of the things you need to watch out for when buying gold and silver is don't fall fear to FOMO.
Dollar cost average or whatever you got to do, but don't just buy it because it's going crazy up. Buy it responsibly.
What do you guys say about that?
>> I've said that two thou Oh, sorry. Go ahead.
>> Go ahead. No, you >> I was just gonna say I've said that like 2,000 times on my channel. I don't know.
>> Yeah. That's what I was going to say.
>> But that's this is where you don't borrow money to buy.
>> The the the thing is, you know, the the thing is, like I said, work all your life, you own your shop, you borrow money against it. The the market went up way too fast to be buying like crazy. He was listening to other stuff about silver going to3 $400 and all this. Uh the thing is even the analysts ain't 100% sure but these are analysts. We are not we're never going to tell you to run out there bye bye bye all you can. What we are going to tell you buy responsibly don't borrow money to do it. Uh make sure that you understand or ask your LCS do you think this is a a good buy? Should I be buying now? And most of your guys, if they're good dealers, are going to tell you, well, we don't 100% know. But if you, this looks like a good market right now. Like right now in this market, it could go down. As you heard Seeker say, it could go up. One thing I do like about it, it the last what, four or five days, it's been kind of a steady between 74, 75, 74, 75. It it's swinging slow swings. And that's what I like to see. I like to see something that ain't flying way down, flying way up because the last couple weeks we've been seven, eight bucks either way.
>> Yeah, it's it's been it's been a little while. I think that's definitely one of the things that you need to look out for. We're going to be talking today and we've been talking for a while, >> but a lot of what we're going to be talking about are things that you need to be looking out for. Whether it be counterfeit coins or movement in the market, swings or whatever or buying patterns, just pay attention and I'll mention that and say this is something you might want to look out for. So, um, here we go. Another one. But what would premiums be if it dropped to the 40s? 15 bucks an ounce.
>> Depends on how quickly it dropped. If it dropped there tomorrow, sure, absolutely.
>> Yeah.
>> If it if it if it slowly got down to that, no, probably not. Speed definitely makes a difference on the premiums how fast they go or how far they go up or down.
So that's why you take a look today. You got you can find silver at melt.
>> Yeah. Yep.
>> Just like I was saying, what we want to see, what you want to look for is more steady of what's been happening this week. And that that could and again I'm not a financial adviser. That could be a signal. it may possibly be safe to start buying. Now, I'm not saying it is, but it does give you a little more confidence in the metals.
>> And don't forget, next week, guys, toss a show.
>> Uh, second week buying silver. Let's catch up to chat and then we're going to talk about the coin shows.
Uh, no matter the price, never panic, buy or sell, says Mud Swat. And we had touched base on that.
>> But now, wait a He said he couldn't have quit buying half ounces.
>> Well, >> he said he said he said he would start buying fractional if it dropped to 40 or something. I thought I don't know.
>> Here we go. I think war nickels are cool. I love them as coin and beu examples could be good investments. They do lack the silver though. They got 35% silver, but the magnes makes them hard to process.
>> Did Yeah. But did you know that uh per dollar there's more silver in a face value in nickels than there is dimes, quarters, and house?
>> Per dollar? Yes.
>> There is more. I knew you guys knew, but I didn't. I was saying that to the chat.
>> Oh, there's more, guys. There's more.
Here we go. Marcus Green says, "What >> what happened to US Mint Bullion American Silver Eagles? Reported sales in March were down 1.6. April 380,000 and May report says zero.
Was their report delayed?" I don't know.
Uh I I wouldn't even think they'd have the May report out this quick. Do they get it out within a day or two?
>> It'll be out.
>> It's the government, man. Sometimes they're slow. I don't know what's going on with that. Does anybody >> Well, for the for the bullion, silver eagle sales wore down a little bit, guys.
>> I I believe it. I believe it. I mean, you can see you can see excitement for silver and gold for that matter is way down from where it was, you know, earlier this year. Like >> you can see that you can see that on basically every metric >> even YouTube channels >> before 2005 or 20 thou there wasn't nothing minted over 15 million in the entire year and some of those years what 3 million 4 million from 86 to about 2005 and now we're having like 40 50 million plus. So yeah it's just a shock back in time that's all. Uh I just seen a question. Uh are dose pesos small gold good to stack? Are they >> I actually like I actually like them.
>> Just be careful on the premium.
>> Well, the thing is guys, we usually sell them now. We we do we sell these all the time. We go melt plus 10 bucks.
I'll buy all you can at Mel plus 10 bucks on do >> I can't keep them.
>> Well, that's right because I'm buying them at Mel plus 10.
>> I think you bought the last damage.
>> I got some more.
>> It's not damaged. I'll pay Mel plus 10.
>> I have more at the show.
>> I'll buy it.
>> You better get no longer has the Mel plus 10 at the show because they're all gone, guys.
>> Well, we we see Keith will go Mel plus 20 since we know he likes it.
>> No, I usually get about 10 bucks profit off. Um, I'm on auto ship. All proofs and mint says, "Is it a good idea to keep the auto ship or buy it secondhand?"
>> Depends on how long you're willing to wait.
>> Yeah, because sometimes they go up right away. Um, and it may take years for it to come back down, but if you have time, always better to wait.
>> At 245 this this year.
Gas man says, "Will the US be releasing the gold Mercury diamond and correspondent silver medal at the Tulsa show? Uh, will NGC be grading at the Tulsa show? Would it be possible to buy these through Coin Zone or Mid Mid America?"
Okay, so we have mentioned the Tulsa show, so let's get on that real quick.
Where we at? Boom.
Here you go. You want to start talking about shows, Mike?
>> Uh, yes. Uh since we are on the subject of the Tulsa show, I did get word and I got it finalized last week. Something happened. Treasury did not get the money to the US Mint in time. They do not have the funds to come this year. They will be back next year, guys. Uh as far as the Mercury dime, it is scheduled to release on June 4th, which is my birthday. Uh so no not the mint will not be there. neither will NGC.
>> That is unfortunate.
>> But they are still scheduled for the next show coming up. Uh Tulsa is in two weeks, right? What's the dates on that?
>> You're going to And they are going to be in Lancing, Michigan, and they definitely will be in Little Rock, Arkansas. We're going to have Sarah Huckabe there and four senators on top of that.
>> They will be back next year, guys. I am I apologize. Um, they had some mint changes. The thing was was when I will not mention her name, when she left, all the paperwork didn't get through to the Treasury in time. The other shows did make it in time. So therefore, Tulsa got left in the dark. It happens. It happened to ANA last year. Uh, you know, in Atlanta, they didn't have the US Mint there either. So guys, uh, I apologize for that. I was gonna I was talking to him earlier about this and we was waiting for somebody to mention it. We was going to mention it by the end of the show, but since it was brought up now, we brought we're bringing it out now.
It was scheduled for the silver proof sets to be released there. I'm doing my best, but don't look like I'm going to have the silver sets there in time to be released at the show. I am trying to get the mint to send me a bunch of them so we can sell them right there at Mid America. If we get them, they will be sold at the same cost as the US M. So, here's what we got, guys. If you need to flag these dates, go ahead and screenshot this picture real quick or go back and screenshot it because we are going to take it off >> or go to tulsaccoinshow.com. It's all there.
>> There you go.
Um, yeah. It's unfortunate the US M because I had some liberty heads I was want to send off to them. Now I'm going have to put them in the mail.
>> Well, that would be unfortunate NGC, not the US Mint.
>> Whatever.
>> Well, they're NGC back next year, guys.
>> Whatever the case, it's unfortunate for both of them because I would have got me a Mercury dime there if they would have had it. I know they would have probably saved some for it because they usually do if the show follows within a weekend.
So, the Tulsa show is not this weekend, but the weekend after, right, Mike?
>> It's next weekend. Yeah. So, guys, save your money. Come on out because there's still going to be a lot of stuff. We're still doing the kids giveaway on Friday with Miss Ida. Uh we're gonna have Coin Crew, Silver Seeker, Rods, Find Treasures, Coin Huskers. Uh we're gonna have uh dog who?
>> Ravenhawk.
>> Ravenhawk. Yes.
>> Mad Stacker supposed to be there. You know, guys, we got a lot of YouTubers going to be there. Mid America, of course, will be there. You know, they're one of the best.
>> Did you even mention Coin Crew?
>> Yeah, he did.
>> Oh, okay.
>> I was the first one, man.
>> Oh, >> if I wasn't, I want to hear it that way.
So, I'm gonna say it.
>> And gonna be there, too.
>> But anyway, uh guys, all these guys are going to be there and then some. It's going to be a great show. Don't forget about Rob's Find Treasures. He's a great guy. He's going to be there right next door to Silver Seeker.
>> And then you got them guys into the bathroom. Josh is going to be there.
>> He's going to be up front. He's going to be away from these guys. He's going to be in a safe zone. Anyway, guys. Yeah, we got to take care of Josh. You know, he, you know, we know how Silver Seeker is with them. So, we got to keep them apart. You know, >> here is something from Rockzilla real quick. Would you sell? Who would you sell to if silver drops >> to 40? Remember when the pandemic when silver dropped to 14, you could not find that's because everybody bought it up as quick as they could.
>> Some people had to pull it.
>> Silver dropped to 13. I was selling at $15 an ounce. We could not keep enough silver that time.
>> Could you imagine being able to buy a monster box for 7,500 bucks?
They were doing it.
>> I'm just saying, Mike, if you would like to sell me a monster box for 7,500 bucks, I will write you a check today.
>> Dude, I remember buying monster boxes.
>> I tell you what, and you're going to hear this straight from me. I am going to sell you that empty monster box for 7500 so you can say you got one from me.
>> No, I want it sealed, sir. I want it sealed.
>> It will be sealed boxes for 5 m sealed.
>> Okay. Yeah. The problem was um during the pandemic you couldn't get out a lot and coin shops were non-essential so we had to close. So the only thing we could do was buy. So I don't I myself jumped online and every dealer I knew that had it under 18 I just kept buying.
That was the sold out to everybody that was called me.
>> He never called me when I was selling underneath that.
>> Oh I did buy some off you too. But you didn't buy enough. I had I was having it fly through the door.
>> We We actually backed two foundry companies on silver. We selling so much that time.
>> We had five to six week weights for our stuff.
I would love to see them days again, but on these numbers, I don't think we're going to see these days.
Anyway, we got more questions.
>> Here is Yeah, here is something he tagged me so I didn't quite see it because it has the ad. Uh, great perspective. I like the way he says this. Coin crew. It's really pretty simple. Dollar cost average. And when in doubt, zoom out.
Get some perspective from the long term.
People are too impatient.
>> 100%. Chris, if you're still here, I don't >> I see something today that really makes sense to what he just said about people are too invasive.
>> We was in Popeye's standing in line. We because I had the grandbaby today. We was getting she wanted chicken. So, we took her to Popeyes to get her chicken.
Guy and this lady was standing there waiting. The lady was nice enough to come by and says, "Give me just a minute. I just need to hand this food.
I'll be right back. We're a little short-handed. The guy looks over at the girl and says, "Let's go. I'm not waiting here no more." He wasn't in line more than maybe two and a half minutes and he was done. That was definitely impatient right there.
>> And Silver Seeker was making a a statement on this comment here.
>> I was just saying I agree 100%. I think people they they get way too excited.
They capture FOMO all the time. They want to get it right away, especially when it's going up. When it's going down, they want to sell it really quick.
They're worried about, you know, they're worried about the other end of FOMO, fear of missing on the chance to sell it before it's too early. I I mean, I'm not a financial adviser by any means, but I've said a gazillion times, and I'll continue to say it, that if anyone's stacking silver, and your intent is to sell it in six months, you may as well buy paper silver. I I believe in physical silver and physical gold. I believe in physical precious metals as a long-term hold. Um, not paper silver.
But if your goal is to sell it in three or six months because you think it's going up and you're buying physical silver to do that with instead of paper, I don't get it because you're paying premiums and you're you're losing on the other end when you go to sell it as well. It just doesn't make sense.
>> Well, right now there's no premiums. But here's the thing, guys.
>> Well, there is a premium, Mike, because you buy it for you buy it for spot, but you go to sell it and you're getting minus five. That's still a $5 premium.
>> Yeah. Whereas >> minus 10, whatever.
>> Yeah. But my point is is if you're doing it for a short term, it doesn't make sense to not buy paper silver. If you're doing it for >> couple penny spread and then some of the uh brokers that sell the paper silver like KitKo, >> uh they charge you a transaction fee or something like like Scott trade used to trade.
>> I had a guy about three or four weeks ago come in and bought silver.
He's been humping on it since the co Now remember what I said when it was co because of how cheap it was going. They wind up being a five to six week wait.
He was one of them guys that was impatient.
He would not wait five to six weeks. He refused to pay it. I'm only going to buy it when I can buy it right now. He came in and bought one box. Now remember what he could have bought with that money.
One box. So I could have bought four or five boxes if I just waited to five six week. I've been sitting on this money. I finally brought it in. I bought one box of silver. He says, "But I'm getting it now." He says, "I wish I would have waited to six weeks." There's >> Jay Dog. Thank you.
>> If he would have spent his money when he had it in 2020, he could have made a lot more money off his money. But he was one of them guys that refused to wait the five or six weeks even though his wife was agreeing he should go ahead and buy it. Now he wishes he would have bought it and we all do. Hindsight 2020. I'm looking at these numbers thinking why didn't I buy more and I because I trade every day but if I would have just saw it was going to go up. I probably would have bought a whole bunch more to stack up for today.
>> Okay. I'm gonna swing down at the bottom in the chat. I'm just going to skip it all. Yeah, there's you've missed you've missed quite a few things.
>> What's it? Let's go.
>> You've missed quite a few things. Mud says, "Paper silver can fly a cat. You can buy other paper stocks. Keep silver." Mudsw what? I agree. I I don't have any any paper silver at all. I'm just saying that if your intention is to buy it and then sell it in three months, like it just just doesn't make sense to, you know, the the, you know, having to carry the physical around, having to pay the premiums or the loss on spot when you sell it, whatever it may be. That's my argument. I don't have any paper silver. I have no interest in paper. But I also totally understand why some people stack paper because they're they're betting on the short term, not the long term. I'm putting my physical silver aside for a very different reason than what those people are buying paper silver for. That's that's what I'm saying.
>> Maybe maybe it's me, but uh I go a whole different route. Instead of buying paper silver, I I do have faith in the silver market. Don't get me wrong. I'm physical. But instead of buying paper silver, I'll just pay stocks that pay me a dividend. If I'm gonna have it on paper, I want to give you a little bit back.
>> And even there's no it do they pay you back on paper? No, you don't get dividends.
>> I I uh I have plenty of investments in, you know, you know, other forms of investment that are outside of precious metals. They're just they're not paper silver because I just don't if I'm going to stack silver, I'm going to stack silver.
>> Yeah, that's uh Jay Dog's not going to make it to the Tulsa show this year.
Sorry to hear that, my friend.
>> Sorry to hear that, Jay Dog.
>> That is not Jay Dog. That is sad. I would have loved to see you, man. It's been a couple of years. Yeah, it is.
>> I think last time I saw Jay Dog was when Tulsa was at the other location.
>> The US Mint for grading.
>> Oh, yeah. I'm going to do that. Oh, I meant that comment I made earlier.
>> I said US going to be not gonna be there. So, I'm not gonna be able to send my stuff off.
>> Hey, you know what? You know what, Keith? The the title of tonight's stream is Things to Watch out for. I don't know if anyone saw my video from yesterday with Josh, but can I share a story from that video that he shared?
>> Did you watch it?
>> No, I haven't.
>> I didn't watch it. I don't watch your videos ever.
>> That's fine. That's fine. I I'm not expecting. I'm just asking. So, >> uh, yeah.
>> When Josh opened, there was this coin shop that was open in May not for like 30 some odd years when he opened over 40 years before it finally closed. I think that's how he how he told the story. Um, I looked up the shop on Google. I'm not going to say the name here. Google it, you'll figure it out. But, you know, he has like two stars with hundreds of reviews. So, I totally believe the story. But anyway, uh this he said that this uh this old guy had been buying gold off of him for years, right?
Putting it aside, buying it aside, buying it. Well, he passed away. He passed away and um the guy's wife took that gold back to this guy to try and sell it to him to see what it was worth.
And fortunately, while she didn't know what the value of the gold was, she wasn't completely stupid. And I'll tell you why. So, she walks in there and he starts off by uh picking up a $10 gold coin. I don't know if it, you know, what type it was, doesn't matter, but he picked up a $10 gold coin. And he goes, "Well, this one has a face value of $10, so I can give you the $10 for this one."
>> Wow.
>> Right.
And uh I was expecting to say 20, you know, because I'll joke with customers every once in a while. I'll double your money. Really?
>> No, he was he was serious. Like supposedly, again, I'm not saving names because I'm not going to get, you know, in trouble for Slender, >> but you can Google and see the reviews of the shop, you know, that's it.
>> Wow.
>> Like two stars with hundreds of reviews.
He has two two out of five stars total average. Um, so I believe the story 100%. I got five stars for DA, >> right? But anyway, >> yeah, you know, I said this to Josh in the video yesterday. I said, I'm actually happy that, you know, he didn't offer her like 150 bucks. You know what I mean? Because if he would have offered her 150 bucks, she may have actually been like, "Oh, yeah, that makes sense."
You know what I mean? But the fact that he was so greedy that he tried to get it from her for face value that even she didn't know anything about it was, you know, smart enough to be like, "No, that's not, you know, it's worth more than that." So, as a, you know, him being a scammer, that is the most idiot scammer I've ever seen in my life because like you have to make it somewhat believable. You know what I mean? But as Mudsaw's saying, it's criminal. I agree. That's 100% criminal.
Yeah, >> shops like that give shops, all coin shops, a bad name because someone's going to stop in there and and get offered that low ball price, which is I can't believe they did it, but they're going to say, "Oh, all coin shops." And it's not the case. There are a lot out there, but there's not as many out there as people say there are.
>> Yeah, I think Melt's a little over 2,200 on that coin if I'm not mistaken.
>> I mean, this was a few years ago, but but doesn't doesn't matter.
It could it gold could have been $300 an ounce and >> right >> $10 would have been too much even.
>> It was just a couple years ago. It wasn't it it was just a couple years ago. It wasn't like you know two decades ago. It was like >> $1,000 between 25 and 3,000.
Gold was $100 an ounce that would have been00 plus >> you know give or take. So you know yeah that's not right. So yeah, gold's got to be back like it was in 196768.
$35 an ounce. Then it'd be just a little low offer, >> right?
>> But it still be too low, >> right? That's Anyway, >> that was bad.
>> Spiky Mikey says, "I seen it."
>> I'm talking about your video. What happened to some of my favorite guy?
>> I don't know, man. I hope that wasn't your favorite guy. Just messing.
Well, you know, it's it's it's coin shops like that, like you had said, that give coin shops a bad name. It's coin shops like that that spawn the the really bad jokes about coin shops, like the one I've said on I think I've even said on the stream before, but I still find funny to this day. Do you know which one that is?
>> I don't remember.
>> It It starts like this. It says, "So, uh, one day a coin dealer died and arrived at the gates of heaven."
>> I still don't remember, >> dude. I'm old. I forget stuff. You're going to have to say the whole thing.
That's the joke.
>> That was the joke.
>> A coin dealer dies and arrives at the gates of heaven. That's the joke.
>> Yeah. They won't let him in. I think >> they won't happen. He will not arrive at those gates.
>> Well, he might if they're golden gates.
>> Yeah. He'll be trying to buy them for a dollar.
>> That guy like that corn will be trying to take the golden gates with him.
>> Like, hey, those golds are those gates are made of real gold. Can I give you five bucks?
>> I give you more, but I have to frame it.
We have to put it on the wall, you know.
Doesn't cost me money for all that. No, it's >> okay.
>> Despicable. I think >> Do we have any other questions? We Let's try to get caught up here, guys.
>> Uh uh can I can I can I let everyone know that if you've downloaded the Stack Heavy app for either Android or iOS, it did get a new update yesterday and it's awesome.
>> Oh, so I got to go back to and update it now.
>> Yeah, it's just an update. Oh, nice.
>> On the melt dashboard, I now have a full list of proof sets and their actual melt values. And it does include the face value coins as well. So, if it melts for 40 and there's $5 face value, it'll tell you the melt value and the full value of the set just based on its precious metal content.
>> So, basically, he's telling me now I got to update. This non techy person right here has got to do an update. I hope I don't mess it up.
>> Also, the spot price chart now shows if the market's opened or closed. It's hard to see here, but it does show that. So, anyway, >> I couldn't afford to sign up, so I didn't sign up.
>> It's literally a free app.
>> That's what I'm saying. It was too much.
>> In fact, the website has Tulsa Coinshow.com on it.
>> Well, I was thinking that maybe you guys would pay me to come on because I can't afford the free.
>> Yeah. Okay. Um, Madx Mexican says, "Uh, was I wrong? Most of my stack was generic, but when I p when the price went crazy and premiums disappeared, I swapped out and got most of my stack now as in collectibles um was only charging me about $1.
>> Well, that makes sense. Why would you not? If you can get a generic or a premium coin for the same price, always get the premium because >> Well, they charging him $1. And yes, that was very small.
>> Oh, yeah. I mean, obviously I think he meant $1 more, >> but >> yeah. Yeah, they was charging him $1 for it. And yes, there's where I say a shop's got to make something. They're willing to trade up with you. Get you give them a dollar. He made a dollar and hey, you you got collectibles.
>> Well, I don't I don't So, maybe I misunderstood, but I don't think he was swapping his generics for premiums. I think he started buying premiums instead of generics because they were only charging like a dollar more for premiums over generics.
>> Oh, okay. Whatever the case is.
Yeah, >> right now these premiums or ice cream silvers, a lot of people aren't wanting to pay extra for them. But if you're wanting stack silver, go ahead and pay the extra dollar to $3 for those because if Now, I'm not saying it will. If silver starts decreasing, those premiums for those premium pieces will start showing. They won't go down as fast. And I try to say that about old gold versus new gold. The same thing.
Old gold doesn't go down as fast as new gold.
Uh here we go. I was wrong. Uh most my stack was generic. Okay, we already did that one. This is what I meant. I think most people missed the 30-ish silver spot days for the buying part, but like the current 75ish silver, the value of their stack, and some don't want to spend 75ish spot price. I get it. I get it.
>> Yeah, it's kind of what we were talking about earlier when I said if it dropped below 40.
Yeah, that's I think I think if it gets down close below 60 around the 50 range, I think it'll spark a new interest, at least with me anyway.
Okay, >> Danny Greenley's asked this twice. He wants to know what you think about buying gold backs.
>> I'm not going to answer this question, but I figured he he >> uh Greenley, uh goldbacks, my opinion is simple. They tell you the exact amount of gold that's in them, and it is there.
I mean, they measure it out or whatever they do. Um, as far as stacking for gold, no, because it takes 1,000 or 2,000, 4,000, however many it says of those gold backs to get an ounce of gold. And sometimes you could pay >> 12 to$20,000 for an ounce. So, if you're stacking for value, that's not the way to go. But, if you're stacking to give away as gifts to introduce somebody else into the gold and silver market, great item for that. But definitely not for stacking, but definitely good for gifts.
>> Keith, what are half gold backs selling for?
>> Uh, half gold backs are selling uh they auction out anywhere from $6 to $11.
>> Okay, so at $6 you're paying $12,000 an ounce. So at $11 you're paying what? So yeah, you're paying >> That's my average auction. I I auction out h and I give >> And once again, I had a horror story and I was there at the show when it happened. I had a guy come in, had a bunch of gobacks, brought them over to me. I said, "I don't buy them." So, he went over to the guy he bought them from. And man, it got loud in the room because he asked the guy, "What did he sell them for again before he told me he wanted to sell his back?" The guy told him, he turned around, pulled his out.
He said, "Well, what will you give me for these back? I want to sell these back. I I don't want to stack them anymore." He said, 'Well, I got a bunch of them in there. Blah, blah. I gave him a whole story. And he says, "But I will give you a melt if it would help." The guy flipped out and you know as well as you should have.
I always say this about gold backs, guys. They are a great novelty. It's not a stackable object because I don't even think the foundry companies want to take them because there's so little gold on them, but there is a thousand of an ounce on them.
and so on as you go bigger >> small.
>> Yeah. I don't even know. They're like there's so much plastic in a thousand gold backs. I mean, especially if they're in the ones like if it's a thousand1 gold backs.
>> Yeah. You got to have more than one to pull out the gold. But it can't be >> because they have they have bigger denominations. Like I have like I have a 100 gold backs that I've had for years.
They were these were given to me for free from the goldback company to do a review on them. And uh I've never heard from that company again after I did my review. And only got you only got 99.
>> No, I got 100.
>> You burnt one of them up, didn't you?
>> No, no, no. That So, that one that I burnt up I was the bonus one that I got because back then if you signed up on their website, they sent you a free one.
>> Oh, okay.
>> So, I still have my original hundred that they sent me.
>> Did you get a $3 one in there?
>> No, I have ones fives, tens, 25s, and 50s.
>> I love $3 one. They did. They got the grading company to grade them farm and every one of them sold for like $345 a piece.
>> Buck wild. Buck.
>> Love your videos. What's your thoughts on collectibles like mint silver proof sets? Do you think they're worth buying?
>> Um, >> depends on the entry level you get them at.
>> I used to buy silver proof sets every single year. I stopped buying anything from the US Mint in 2021.
>> There you go. I have yet I have not made a single order from the US men since 2021.
And that's coming from someone who bought so much stuff off the US Mint that I would get their free shipping like qualify for their free shipping every year. Here we go. Um, y'all think I'll ever be able to get my grubby mints on a gold Mercury one day at a reasonable premium? uh considers I guess I it consider it's it depends on what you consider a reasonable premium because right now >> new gold Mercury dimeive >> gold Mercury dime with the metals Mid America is offering you guys $300 over >> yeah they're already getting way way up on the gold ones the 16s uh they still have quite a bit of premium on them as well >> I didn't realize they were doing those Again, I again I don't buy stuff for the men. I don't know.
>> Well, the bottom line is they they picked out like about five or six of the best of the best, and that's what they they're doing this year.
>> Interesting. Uh my my LCS traded me generic round plus a dollar for collectible coins. Cool, cool, cool.
>> That's I was right then what I said. And yes, >> we are about out of time. I missed some of your questions, guys. Uh Seeker's Younger, you got better eyes. You want to skim over these last questions real quick? trying to catch us up so we can get out of here.
>> Uh, is it better to buy slab Morgans versus raw? Nice. Morgans's for investment purposes. Asking for a friend. You guys can do that one.
>> Yes, it is. I would buy slab over raw.
>> Slab is a much better buy >> as far as being able to resell it. It's more resellable.
>> I don't see anything uh left that starts with question marks other than a statement.
>> Okay, throw the statement out there.
>> Throw the statement. What is it?
>> The statement is Silver did a video on gold backs where he showed the amount of gold. That wasn't me. That was Three Tips. Three Tips did that. I just tried to melt one down and test it. I didn't show the amount of gold. Three Tips, however, did a video where he actually was able to recover the entire amount of gold out of a gold pack. Although, I think it took quite a few chemicals.
>> So, probably did.
>> And that's something company ain't going to do. That's cost us money.
>> We are not Mike and I are not going to be back here next week. I will be back the following week. I'm going to be on my way to Tulsa Coin Show. So, those of you who are going to make it, I hope you make it. I hope you press the thumbs up.
Hope you shared the video. You guys want You guys want to say anything real quick before you go?
>> I'm gonna be ahead.
>> Okay. Well, I guess I'm uh Yeah, guys.
Uh yeah, we'll be at the Tossa Show. I can't guarantee I'm going to be up the week after because I think we're planning on going on vacation right after that. My wife needs a break. Uh, so guys, it's been great. I will be back in about three weeks for sure.
>> U, as for me, I just wanted to tell you that I have been talking to Rob for weeks about getting back to doing our uh, live stream again. And it's been tough, but we're still trying. And um, also I will be at the Tulsa show next week. So I hope to see you guys there.
Really excited about it. I'm going I'm coming in on Wednesday night. Wednesday afternoon probably.
>> Oops. Oops. Here. Let's do this. Oops.
>> No, we'll get it.
>> My invisible finger.
>> There you go.
>> Floating finger.
>> I am also going to be at the Tulsa Coin Show. I hope to see you guys there. Um, it would be great to I like that. I got that picture. It would be great to see you guys there again.
>> I got a show tomorrow night on whatnot.
uh an auction and that's my last one for two weeks over there. Well, I might have one Thursday. I don't know.
>> I'm gonna try and go live from the Tulsa show, I think.
>> What's that?
>> I'm gonna try and go live from the Tulsa show, but not just walking around. I'm actually going to try and set up a live stream from the Tulsa show for an hour.
>> Oh, that would be cool to see. Yeah.
>> Hey, do you still have that room, Mike, in the that has all the chairs in it?
>> Uh, no, we don't. We are not using that room this year. They put a couch and stuff in there, but you can go in there.
>> Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Can I use that room to do a live stream for him?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> All you guys be next weekend. We will see you there.
>> See you there.
>> And uh thanks a lot.
>> See you guys.
