Sectarianism — What It Actually Means

[00:00:01]Sectarianism is composed of two things.

[00:00:03]One of them is your thought of of another group and the second is your action towards the other group. As for your thought for another group, I think it you are sectarian if you refuse to [music] acknowledge that people outside of your strand have the same sincerity and in their minds at least the same robust arguments that you do.

[00:00:23]I believe that you must acknowledge that other movements have the same level of sincerity and in their minds, I'm not saying in actuality, in their minds the same robust arguments that you do for your understanding. If you actually believe this, then it will automatically impact your actions towards that group because you will be more [music] empathetic and tolerant. You are not going to be bigoted and you're not going [music] to exacerbate tensions.
