When facing multiple simultaneous business challenges such as venue scheduling conflicts, inventory overflow, and renovation delays, successful crisis management requires creative solutions that leverage existing resources and team collaboration. In this scenario, the business owner transformed a scheduling error into an opportunity by using a pop-up store to manage inventory overflow while generating capital for renovations, demonstrating how adaptive thinking and resourcefulness can overcome operational setbacks.

Wedding Shop Countdown: Lease Deadline Threatens New Store | EP1 | Bollywed S2Added:
Well, what do you think?
Uh, that's better. It all started with a dream.
It's fire.
That's definitely [music] dad.
It's too bright.
This is my baby.
Great paint job, dad.
Let's go to work. All right, let's get back to it. All right, I got to make some calls. Let's go, dad. Thumbs up.
Hey, Mr. P Dad.
You like my building?
Did he like you?
Mom and Dad started Chandan Fashion in 1984 with a dream for a better life for themselves and their family. It's always been my dream to open a second location where we carry the most luxurious high-end bridal wear for the booming South Asian market.
But, convincing my parents hasn't been easy.
But, after months of searching I need a bigger place, okay? and tons of persistence Sorry, dear.
This is not the one. We have finally found the perfect place.
This is really nice.
And, Mom and Dad finally said yes.
The only problem is now I got to make my dream come true.
Dad this is a big moment.
I feel like I've been waiting my whole life for this moment.
Thank you, dad.
And, I won't let you down.
My son, Chandan, is complete my dream, okay?
Hey, my son.
Thanks, dad. You got this.
But, the journey has just begun.
There's tons of work to be done.
The painting, the wallpaper, the furniture, the flooring, the lighting, the display units.
We have this much to work with and this much to do.
And, one wrong move could blow it all.
I can't believe this is ours.
I never thought I'd be so happy looking at a pile of rubble.
But, this right here is magnificent.
Hi.
Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad. What you got there?
Somehow Dad ordered tons of exclusive high-end bridal wear for the new store.
Here you are, my man. Did you order this? Oh, oh, oh, where are they coming, my dear? You can put it here. I have no place.
What? Big surprise, huh? Where do you want us to put these boxes? Not here.
This place is not ready. Dad, there's broken drywall, rubble, dust everywhere.
We can't put these boxes here right now.
Okay, I have a suggestion. We take this inventory to our pop-up. Oh, good idea.
Yeah, that's a good idea. Montreal pop-up sale. That will take care of the overflow at our flagship location and earn the capital for our renovations. We have a massive pop-up coming up this weekend even though our minds are completely on the new location. I got the flyers right here. Take a look. We were in Montreal 2 weeks ago and we handed out about a thousand of these.
Looks so good. I like the color. It's beautiful.
Yeah, but Chandan, hold on, hold on.
I think dates are wrong.
>> [gasps and sighs] >> April 28th, 29th. The weekend. No, Chandan. This is Friday, Saturday. We're supposed to be doing Saturday, Sunday.
How did none of us catch that? Not good.
So?
What do we do?
We go one day early. One day early? We need to talk to that venue immediately if it's even available. We need to rebook the hotel rooms. I need to get a truck the day before. It's literally doing everything again. You know what?
This is a very expensive mistake.
So, I really, really need a truck and the problem is that no one's got a big 53-ft truck because we've totally overshot the dates over here. So far, we've got nothing confirmed. Yes, we still definitely need that venue. And, we've got what? Four days until we leave?
And, while Chandan and Roop try to fix the pop-up dates, I've got some clothes to sell.
We actually get customers for all milestone occasions.
On the third floor, we sell high-end bridal wear.
On the second floor, we sell groom's wear and men's wear.
And, our first floor is where we sell all of our amazing [music] party wear.
And, that's where I'm meeting Breanna and Soleil, who are cousins but more like sisters. I want to wear the pink. I want to be like Barbie. Yes, you should try that one.
>> They're here with Breanna's mom, Bisa, and Soleil's mom, Ayana. Honestly, Soleil, I think you should bling.
They're both shopping for their grade eight graduation. Yeah. Look at this one. Oh, that's pretty. I like this one.
That is gorgeous. Grade eight grad isn't like what it used to be. This is more like senior prom. What do you envision yourselves in? Either like a corset dress or like a lehenga. I just know that I want like a lot of bling. Like she's going to walk in there and be like >> [laughter] >> These girls are the cutest. I go to an art school. Okay.
>> So, I just decided, let me just sketch it. See how like the waist is kind of in. And, look at this plunging V, mama.
Or scared.
>> [laughter] >> Our family's from Trinidad, so we have lots of like South Asian influence.
>> Right.
>> Our grandmother is half Indian, so we celebrate Diwali, you know.
Well, both of my grandmas have passed, right? So, I could honor them and like show that you're able to be different without feeling uncomfortable and to show like your true self and like your history behind you. Soleil.
Damn. We just got life lessons here.
>> [laughter] >> I want to make this really special for you guys. I want to take you guys upstairs. There's a ramp, there's lights, there's [music] mirrors, but the best part that it has a runway.
>> [laughter] [laughter] >> Guys, how's this truck stuff going? I'm working on it. Okay, I'm working on the staffing as well. Somebody has a hold on the venue. I'm trying to make it work.
Fingers crossed. We have this pop-up in Montreal. Will you even be able to get a truck on such short notice? And, if we don't have the venue one day earlier what are we even doing? The pop-up seems like a terrible idea. I'm calling to follow up on the venue. Like there's just so much going on in our lives [music] right now and we're juggling all these different balls. So, I'm just calling to see if maybe they've canceled.
>> work twice as hard in the same amount of time? That's our motto.
Oh my goodness.
>> [laughter] >> This is not the mall.
I can't believe this is what's happening. The girls absolutely loved this showroom. This is a great way to celebrate together and just be there for one another. All right, Soleil, come on out.
Let's go, Soleil.
That is beautiful. Yes, Soleil, the bling is bling-ing.
Look at that dance move. You look so pretty. I love it.
Next up is Breanna's turn. Come on, Bre.
Let's see. LET'S >> [screaming] >> OH MY GOD.
WOW.
YOU'RE SO ELEGANT.
I feel [music] pretty. You feel pretty?
I can tell from your face you're glowing in it. This is a good feeling. Aw.
That's beautiful. Look at this.
You girls stole my heart. Perfect. I think you look gorgeous.
>> [laughter] >> Oh my gosh.
Breanna loves her dress, but Soleil, she wants to try one more.
Okay, round two.
>> [gasps] >> Oh my gosh.
Look at this.
>> [screaming] >> Soleil, I love it.
>> Gorgeous, Soleil.
How do you feel [music] and what do you think of the outfit? I feel like if grandma saw me in it, she'd be really happy. You know, your love for your grandma reminds me of mine.
I was really close to my grandma as well.
And, the way that I got to honor her on my wedding day cuz I really wanted her to be here with me and she wasn't.
So, I got a little photo of grandma and I had it added to my bangles.
>> [laughter] >> She's with you, right? She's going to be with See the time. But, this is a beautiful way of bringing her [music] in and having her with you on your big day.
I'm so proud of you girls.
>> [music] >> You know, honoring your lineage and just celebrating your culture.
This is a memory for you guys to keep forever. HAPPY GRADUATION.
WE DID IT.
>> [music] >> READY?
So this is going to be at our Montreal pop-up. Please please book your appointments. And we have so much stock right now coming out to Montreal. We have boxes and boxes and boxes of brand new goodies fresh off the plane from India. See you guys in Montreal.
Okay Chandan and Roop, how is the appointments are going on so far? I'm not going to lie, the appointments are trickling in very slowly. Fridays are hard. It's a weekday. I mean people are working. What if if people don't show up? I don't want to put my money down the drain. Hey man, what's that doing?
It's a little hectic. Little hectic, Dad. Friday appointments are slow. We're putting in so much work. So much money is going into this. You got to do your magic.
>> Yeah man, we're struggling here. We might need a little daddy marketing.
>> Don't scared, okay? I'm social media.
You know that one ad, okay? You're on social media? He is social media.
>> [laughter] >> I will be look after you, okay? Promise. You trust me?
I trust you.
People are with daddy marketing, okay?
You guys heard him.
The pop-up needs cookie marketing.
No problem. I have a perfect solution.
Hello Vipan.
How are you? Good good very Good brother good good.
Very good. That's why I'm here, okay?
How much is my surprise?
Is it ready? Very soon.
How big is my face?
That much?
>> Yeah. That's it? Yeah. No, bigger.
Bigger.
Bigger? That's cookie marketing. Thank you.
Cookie buddy. I see.
One thing, okay? You don't leak it in my family. No no. This is my secret, okay?
Okay, no problem. Promise? Promise.
Pinky promise?
Pinky promise.
Thank you, brother.
Thank you.
So if it wasn't already enough dealing with a pop-up and a very [music] busy flagship store, we also have renovations at the new store on top of all this. And that's why we've hired Bronson, the contractor for the new store. Hey buddy, to help us bring our vision to life. I want to have outfits going all down this way over here and over there and over here and over here. A wall coming out this way, a wall coming out this way, all down that side, all down this side, the storage room. Have you ever been overwhelmed with too many options? Yeah, I'm feeling overwhelmed right now.
Making the new store come to life. So there's going to be a semi-circle curtain over [music] here. It's overwhelming. I'm not going to lie.
You hear that?
It's empty. How is this going to be able to hold 50 outfits 40 lbs each? That's like 2,000 lbs. Yeah. We're going to need to reinforce this wall now. So I was thinking of kind of doing the same thing over here, just mirror it on this side. Double the storage means double the outfits. Just double the price then.
We have this payment to make and this payment to make. The police, the rent, the renovations. Each day we're not open, we're falling deeper and deeper into debt.
Hi Mom. I'm on my way to the dump. I'm stuck in traffic. If I keep on running back, our construction's never going to get done.
My list starts in Brampton and finishes in Toronto. That's how long my list is.
The Montreal pop-up is about to pop off.
We're literally 2 days out. And we still don't have a venue or a truck. What have I gotten myself into? I have two jobs.
It's 50 km each way.
But we're professionals. We still have appointments to keep.
Hey Chandan, you're here. Jay and Davey are upstairs waiting for you.
Jay and Davey are shopping for their maticore. I'm Davey. Davey? Nice to meet you, Chandan. Jay. A traditional Guyanese pre-wedding event. And they brought Jay's mother Nirmala, his sister Shalini, and wedding planner Sue.
So guys, how did you meet? Your girl slid in my DMs.
>> [laughter] >> Davey is very excited about her wedding.
However, a key person is missing.
My dad passed away 5 years now. He didn't get to see any of us get married or have this time in our life, but the day he was going to propose, we're on the highway and I snapped a photo on my phone. I zoomed in and I was like, "No."
And I started screaming and >> you see? The word dad was in the snow in big huge letters.
>> Yeah. When I saw Davey's picture with the word dad written out, I literally got goosebumps. Oh my god. Yeah. Very clear. It was the best ever. Yeah, it was definitely a sign.
>> Yeah. Definitely a higher power working.
Yeah. I just started bawling and I was like, "Oh my god, he's here. He's here."
Like I freaked out. You know, I'm a firm believer it wasn't a coincidence. Davey was thinking about her dad and that sign, that was approval from her father as she was about to be engaged to Jay.
Later on that day, he got down on one knee and he popped the question and when I saw that, it was like all the validation I needed. So I just really want to make sure that like I stick to tradition as much as I can because that's what he would want for It's time to make Davey's dad proud.
A father always help his son.
Those No problem. 53 ft we have a lot. Thank you very much. May both wish you good luck.
Whenever there's problem, I have a solution.
All right Davey, COME ON OUT.
WOW.
VERY NICE. SO SPARKLY. I love this. Wow, I love it. Each bead, each no key work, it's all hand stitched in one by one. It does take about 4 to 6 months to make an outfit like this. You look gorgeous. Looks really good.
This color looks so good on you.
So beautiful.
Sparkles. We're ready for the next outfit, Davey. COME ON OUT. WOW.
WE'VE DONE HAND EMBROIDERY HERE ON THE BELT and then we have the same thread work here on the top. And then little pops of mirror work throughout it, too.
I absolutely really love this outfit. I love the green. The green gives it a more royal vibe. Wow, I love it. Two for two and I still got one more look in my back pocket.
Wow.
Done. Three for three. You did it. Oh my god, I love this.
Modern but [music] traditional.
Everything is like perfect.
>> It's like so much bling, exactly what I love. [music] We have old Russian work, pink Russian work, and then we have little bits of crystals and sequences all throughout [music] to make it really sparkle and shine. Yeah, I love it.
Davey, is this the outfit for the maticore? Yes, I'm saying yes.
>> [applause and cheering] >> And now for the groom. Up we go.
So on the sherwani we have all brocade silk. And then on the collar here, we have really nice hand embroideries. I like it.
>> [cheering] [applause] >> I like it. I like it. Let's go. Looks great. How do you think like your dad would feel like seeing you guys here right now?
Yeah, I think he'd say I found the right one and he's so handsome and I'm a lucky girl.
He would just be [music] so happy to be here.
And I love them both.
He loves you, too.
And to top everything off, the venue, we got it. And Dad got the truck. Somehow, everyone pulled through one day [music] early. Viva la pop-up. Viva la Montreal.
It's finally here. Travel day.
And somehow, Dad got us a truck.
We've got about 2 hours to get everything packed up and on its way to Montreal. We can do it. We can do it.
All right, let's go. Let's go. We got no time. No time.
Hello.
Hello Jay. You're good. Thank see. I'm doing well. I know what you're like.
Everybody have a big surprise today.
Bring the children. Come outside.
Johnny, kids dance one. Everybody should come outside. Now?
>> [music] >> Let's go. Let's go.
Okay, let's make it quick. Let's see what's up. Maybe it's food. I hope it's food. Okay, everybody guess. Something to do with lighting.
No. It could be a horse. Guess again.
Are we getting a puppy?
Nobody can guess. It could be anything.
My lips are sealed. But you're talking.
So, why are we out here? No idea. Oh, shoot.
Oh my god. Is that dad?
Oh, no. I don't believe it. That is adorable and [laughter] frightening all at once. Oh my gosh.
My blankets are my babies.
Hello.
>> [laughter] >> Daddy marketing. It's genius. It's like a traveling billboard. My blanket are my baby.
We are going to Montreal in this?
Road trip, anyone? Dad, do you know where we're going? I'm going to Montreal.
Truck's leaving. Hey.
Woah, woah. Pop-up ready?
Let's just hope that our customers show up. Thanks for coming to our pop-up.
