China's centripetal force

[00:00:00]Sometimes life isn't some planned out path. It's more like a bunch of random seeming choices. Some people go far away just because they're curious. Others leave because they're looking for a different kind of possibility.

[00:00:18]A lot of the questions that students ask me about China tend to be to do with the everyday living situation here. So they will ask me about the food. They will ask me if anyone can speak English. They will ask me how difficult it is to learn to speak Chinese. Is it easy to make friends with Chinese people and meet Chinese people?

[00:00:37]>> I intentionally want to study in China especially when taking my masters. I'm very impressed with their technology especially they really know a lot about AI.

[00:00:48]>> I received acceptance from the US, the UK and Turkey. fact that China is the hub of uh the world's economy and trade and so I would get to learn a lot more during my time here >> because I studied the semester abroad two years ago and I really like the country so I wanted to return at some point I wasn't sure if I was going to come here for a masters and I could have gone somewhere in Europe but ultimately I decided to come here now for my masters >> before coming here for some people China was their first choice for others it was just a backup but almost everyone had the same question on their mind what would life be like here. China is a very safe environment. It is also extremely wellconed. It's very easy to travel around China. I also tell them about how beautiful Ningbo is and about how they will be able to go to the lake and to cycle for miles through the mountains here and when they come they have a wonderful time. I was actually in a US university last year, but I decided to come to China because I felt that the environment I got in China, like living here, ever since I was small, it's like really unique and I really missed the environment.

[00:01:56]>> Some found it easier to fit in than they thought. Others found something they never expected before, but almost everyone at some point found a reason to stay. The students I speak to from around the world, they know that the Chinese economy is extremely strong.

[00:02:11]They know there are a lot of opportunities. They know that China is very open to the rest of the world. And they're seeing more and more that resources and opportunities are stationed here in this part of the world.

[00:02:23]>> The life in China is different from anywhere else in the world. And the opportunities as you get as a foreign student here are much more different from anywhere else.

[00:02:32]>> It's very safe here. and the people they are all all very friendly. It's not the same anywhere else in like China. Here is way better.

[00:02:39]>> The economy here is booming. The world's uh import and export basically depends on China. When it comes to technology advancement, the development that is currently happening here >> for me later I want to maybe start my own business or something like this. And I think China is one of the best places to be and network with other students for this purpose. I think China is the right place for me.
