This is a pseudo-scientific rebranding of shared context that mistakes deep familiarity for biological synchronization. It offers an elegant narrative for shared history while lacking genuine neurological rigor.

Twin telepathy explainedAdded:
Twin telepathy, is it real? Is it not? A lot of people ask me if my fraternal twin sister and I experience any sort of twin telepathy and we have had some eerie moments. So, I'm going to explain what I think is going on in our brains.
When anyone is a child and they are growing up, their brain is learning things about the world in response to their external stimuli and their experiences and the things they see, the things they hear, the things that happen in their families and their social circles. Your brain is learning as you go and you are creating neural pathways and synapses and memories and connections and this means that and that means this. Okay. But now let's say you have a twin who is with you for your entire childhood. You guys have almost the exact same experiences. You have the same home life, the same social circles.
You're going through the same grades at the same time. In my case, you go to summer camp together, college together.
Every single one of your formative experiences that teaches you something about the world and all those connections that are being made in your brain are literally being made in this other person's brain 2 ft away from you.
Almost everything you see and every experience you have that teaches you something, this person is having the same experience from another angle. So, it's no wonder that when you see something in your environment or when you smell something or you hear something and your brain goes down this memory pathway in a split second, it's no wonder that you can lock eyes with your twin across the room whose brain just went down the exact same pathway as yours in the exact same split second. I think for identical twins, there's a bit more science to this because there's a lot more parallel processing going on due to identical brain architecture. For fraternal twins, though, we are basically just siblings born at the same time who experienced almost all of the same formative moments in our lives and therefore something can happen or we can see something, smell something, hear something and my brain will go down a journey of memory processing and I'll think of some random word that that reminds me of and it will remind Ally of the exact same word and that is fraternal twin telepathy.
