Was This A Bad Idea?

[00:00:00]Let's just say I made an impulsive decision when I was 16 years old. But I can't fault myself. Which 16-year-old with a 5 figure bank account wouldn't want that? So, to give a little backstory, I was a music producer and a rapper and an engineer. I owned a studio and I had hundreds of people who would come and get recorded by me. On top of that, I also had songs with millions and millions of streams. That's how I created an income at the age of 16. And with all that being said, I was a young kid in high school with probably more money than any of my classmates and nothing to do with it. I always wanted a Dodge Charger and I woke up one day and went to the dealership.

[00:00:39]But as I got older, I started to realize that all the money that I was putting into my car could have actually been going into a business or an investment that could actually benefit my life. But again, I can't fault a 16-year-old for acting like a 16-year-old.

[00:00:54]But today I woke up and decided to pay my car off because why not?

[00:01:02]All right. So today today we're out here. I'm at the tax office. It's a special day. It's a special day. This is my vehicle right here. And I just paid it all. So I got to go collect the title. And apparently you got to come to the tax office. Now you'll see this special man is here with me. And who are you?

[00:01:25]>> So this is my dad. I got my car when I was like 16 years old.

[00:01:33]>> And at that age, guess I couldn't buy a car. So I actually had to put the car in his name. So to pick up the title, he has to be here because it is technically not my car. It's not in my name at all.

[00:01:44]>> It's an appointment, right? What time was the appointment? 3:20. So it's like it's like 3:36.

[00:01:54]Do you think they'll like cancel it or it doesn't matter?

[00:02:15]>> Yeah. I don't know how long we'll be in here cuz >> it's >> it's a lot of people in here. My car actually needs some gas. So, I think >> we're going to leave you here for a little bit. I'm going to go get some gas and I'll be back.

[00:02:39]>> All right. Yeah. Now, I need some gas. I wanted to wait on getting gas because I saw that the stocks I'm big in stocks, y'all. And the stocks for fuel had went down like like really low per barrel.

[00:02:51]Like if you were in oil, you probably would just got cooked in the stock market. I don't want to fill my tank. I need gas. Like I can't drive. I don't want to fill my tank because I'm sure fuel is going to go like really low.

[00:03:08]All right. So, I'm I'm at the station gas. Going to go get some gas. Yo, gas is crazy expensive right now. I hate when gas stations don't have the tap like when I could just tap my um it get rained on. It's about to rain. I got to go in cuz I don't I don't put my card in nothing. Oh, I do got my card on me. I didn't realize. I thought I left it at the crib, but I got my wallet right here.

[00:03:33]All right. Like I said, I'm not trying to fill up because I feel like the gas prices will change. I'm going just get enough to be driving around. So, I'm probably going to put like $10.

[00:04:28]I haven't been driving. I haven't drove in in in like weeks, man. Like, I've been traveling. And when I travel, I don't really drive. Um, when I was in Jamaica, I was driving on the opposite side. I was on the right side of the road and the right side of the car.

It want to rain as soon as I just got my title. I I really like genuinely thought it was going to be pink cuz little baby I always remember hearing a little baby say pink slip. I'm happy. I got zero bills y'all. Like genuinely I got my car when I was 16. So that's why it's in my dad's name. I couldn't have it in my name. The car taught me a lot. Like it just one let me know like at a young age to work hard, you know, some motivation to actually put in work and things of that nature. I don't think I would recommend anybody out there because once you get keep coming back once you get to that point like you have it for a while you just start thinking like man I could save my money and put it on something else you know so I don't think I'm big on Dave Ramsey we kind of forbid car payments >> CAR PAYMENTS STUPID ON STEROIDS SOMEBODY OUGHT TO SMACK YOU >> LIKE YOU SHOULD never have a car payment so not the smartest decision in the world yeah I mean you could have came back further now we're come on come now we're in the Yeah, like I was saying, I don't encourage, you know, as I got older, I started, you know, listening to a lot of Dave Ramsey and and understanding what debt is and how bad debt can be and and all that. And although I never had any issues paying for my my vehicle, I paid every single car payment on my vehicle like since I was 16. And how was I able to do that? Well, my first business was, you know, it was called Rich Off Mac. I would engineer for people. Like, I made music, I made beats, I was a rapper, all that stuff. So, it was never a problem funding it, but I just I was at a point where I was like, ah, I don't know if that was the smartest thing because I could have been putting my my funds somewhere else that could have been an an investment. A vehicle is not an investment, bro. Like I think what people should do is they should go and buy cash cars like and and and car payment should not be normalized. You know, I think a mortgage, which I don't have a mortgage, but like a mortgage or or is is debt that David Ramsey says is like okay, you know, and it doesn't count against you. It's not idiotic to have that. When you talk about like a loan for, you know, you want to be a lawyer, you take out a loan for like flight for school like that or or flight school or a butician school, like something like that. Okay, cool. Like those are because those are investments.

[00:09:13]You're going to have an actual ROI on that. A car, you're not going to have ROI. Taking out loan on jewelry, bro. Like, you're like, you get what I'm saying? That's just not smart. So, anything that has interest on it, I don't do anything with Hey, I don't have I don't do anything with interest.

[00:09:29]nothing with interest because that's how like people get you. And when you have a a interest rate, some people never even look at their interest rate. I've heard somebody with a $120,000 loan, 20% interest rate. Oh my gosh. Like I don't see how you will ever get out of that.

[00:09:46]That's like really bad. So that's that's my thing. Is it my proudest purchase? I don't think it's the smartest thing in the world. Like a cash card is just is just better. Just get a cash card, bro.

[00:09:59]Yeah, the cycle of the world having car payments should be stopped. If you have no debt and you have no bills, well then you you don't have to do anything. If you don't have any bills or debt, you don't have to make money. And every dollar you make after that is going to be profit, not make money, pay bill. That's the only frame I've ever bought. Do you know where I could go get um some picture frames?
