The Vatican’s shift from objective moral law to subjective "lived experience" risks dismantling traditional theological clarity in favor of modern psychological fulfillment. This transition replaces immutable doctrinal boundaries with a fluid, sentiment-driven framework that fundamentally redefines the nature of sin.

The point of the senate on cinidality, we've been told repeatedly by these senautists when they are organizing the senate, is this weird, vague, but very troubling phrase. The point of the senate is to find a better way to be church. Grammatically, it leaves something to be desired, but it's full of such ambiguity that you can make it mean anything you want it to mean. And that's kind of the point because the sonautilus definitely have an idea of what they mean by better way to be church. There are some now openly asking is father James Martin FJ the one in charge of the cinnid has it become his PR firm. This was asked by journalist Dian Montana and her report on what we're about to see and we'll go over that here in a few minutes. You should always be worried when you see James Martin take to X or Facebook, but he seems to prefer X with a long statement that looks like it had to have been prepared ahead of time because as soon as the news broke that the Vatican through the Senate had declared that James Martin's way of living, the way he the way he advocates for I have no proof that he engages in these sins himself, but the advocacy he is that the lifestyle itself isn't sinful or may not be sinful. They use the word the words may not be.
As soon as that was done, he had a long statement ready and an article on his own activist organization outreach that was responding to this almost as if he knew what was coming.
And given that he works or is a consultter for the Vatican's diccastry for communication, it's a fair bet that he did. He is an insider.
This is the long statement he had ready on X.
A major step forward for the Catholic Church.
The results of study group number nine from senate.va have been released on emerging doctrinal, pastoral, and ethical issues. He says the word emerging replaces the original term controversial.
You remember when Leo said attitudes had to change before certain practices and teachings of the church could be changed?
There's your sign.
It's now emerging, not controversial.
He says the report includes the testimony of two um floofy Catholics. As far as I know, this is the first time that such detailed stories of these people have been included in an official Vatican report. At the very least, it's extremely rare. These testimonies are described by the study group as cases in listening which aided their discernment.
One's from the US, one's from Portugal.
He says listening in this way to these people is a major step forward for the Catholic Church. The entire report, theological criteria and sonatal methodologies for shared discernment of emerging doctrinal, pastoral, and ethical issues is here. And he's got a link to the full document.
It's long enough that I'm not going to read the full document for you. Let's go over some of the media reporting on this. We're start going to start going to we'll start with the source itself, which is the Vatican. Vatican News, the official news arm of Vatican City.
Headline Senate releases final reports on selection of bishops emerging issues.
Study group number seven and study group number nine issued their reports. Maybe in the next few days we'll go over and look at what study group number seven had to say because they are being ignored entirely.
And that could be a red flag because if you're going to release two documents and you have one that's over the top inflammatory, then maybe the other one should be looked at too.
Let's go here and take a look at this article because they they mix it all up here.
The final report of study groups number seven and nine reaffirm that discernment.
I've seen people point out on X and on Facebook that when you see the word discernment coming from these people, you need to be paying attention because it's becoming one of those phrases that they've co-opted and turned into a loaded phrase. It says it reaffirms that discernment lies at the heart of selecting a bishop while adopting specific theological criteria to to discern how to address the most difficult questions facing the church.
According to Cardinal Mario Gres, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Senate of Bishops, the report reaffirms the underlying premise that there is no shepherd without a flock and no flock without a shepherd. This is study group number seven.
The study group encourages what describes a formative investment aimed at helping the members of the people of God sharpen their capacity for discernment.
Remember when I just said what Leo said about attitudes needing to change.
This here is sonatal speak for attitudes need to change and this is that they're going to help attitudes change. Let's read that again. The study group encourages what it describes as a formative investment. meaning the church must begin focusing on this. Aimed at helping all members of the people of God sharpen their capacity for discernment.
It proposes creating dedicated teams to assist the bishop in the ongoing formation of the clergy. It's one way to change attitudes is have your bishop, your priests be on the team. Remember, they're well aware that there are many conservative young men getting through the seminaries right now.
The final report of study group 9 draws on the biblical image found in chapters 10 to 15 of the Acts of the Apostles which shows how cultural diversity can be valued without betraying the newness of the gospel. It proposes a change of paradigm in the way the church addresses the most difficult doctrinal, pastoral, and ethical questions. First, the report prefers the adjective emerging rather than controversial to describe these questions. The statement explains that the aim is not merely to resolve problems but to build the common good through rational convers conversion, shared learning and transparency.
In addition, since there can be no proclamation of the gospel without taking responsibility for the interlocutor in whom the spirit is already at work, the document introduces the principle of pastorality.
And this begins talking about how one of these principles that they have in the document is the conversion in the spirit remains a privileged tool for developing an ecclesial culture of cidality.
And then gives you some examples of these concrete, as they call them, testimonials. Let's go for more details now too. Life site who was of course not not going to miss the chance to report on this. I don't blame them at all. Headlined Senate report suggests James Martin type relationships may not be sinful.
The final report from the Senate on cinidality study group 9 uses personal testimonies to question the sinful nature of the sin and its associated lifestyle in question and suggest debate on the parody of holy matrimony remains unresolved remains unresolved.
Our Lord defined it magisterium has repeated it since our Lord said it.
How is it unresolved?
It came out of the mouth of Jesus. The definition I I think that's resolved.
Maybe I need to have, you know, have a sonal conversion of my own to see how the words of Jesus can be uh can be debated today because we know so much better than our Lord. But I tend to think that Jesus probably got it right given the Holy Trinity. But you know what do I know from the article?
A report from the Vatican's general secretary to the Senate published Tuesday suggests a reframing of the sin and lifestyle in question endorsing testimony without qualification that quote sin at its root does not consist in the type of couple relationship but in a quote lack of faith in a God who desires our fulfillment.
Notice how they put in a little element of truth there.
How about this? Sin at its root does not consist in the taking of a life, but in a lack of faith in a God who desires our fulfillment. See how utterly nonsensical this sounds? But because this is a hot button social issue, all I have to do is say it's faithlessness, not the sin in question where sin lies.
The Vatican Commission study group nine of the Senate on cinnidality published its final report May 5th. quote, "Theological criteria and sonatal methodologies for shared discernment of emerging doctrinal, pastoral, and ethical issues." Under the heading, taking a sonatal approach to discernment, a proposal for implementation in local churches, the 32page document relies on the testimonies of the lived experience of two individuals with this inclination to aid the promotion of pastoral discernment.
Here's that phrase again, lived experience.
This is right out of progressive political activism. Moreover, more important for our purposes, it's a phrase from Pashendi Dominichi Greg, the encyclical of Pope St. Pius the 10th that defined the heresy of modernism.
And one of the the aspects of modernism that he spent a lot of time writing about was this idea of the truth of religion being found through sharing meaning dialogue of our lived experiences of faith.
He basically tells you throughout the encyclical, at least in that section, that lived experience is one of those just categorically rejected things that we should be well rejecting that this is part and parcel of the heresy of modernism is focusing on lived experience. There's not that's not to say that there are times where someone's lived experience might be valid. You know, ask those who people who were armed by McCarrickite priests what their lived experience was and what the nature of the harm done to them. But nobody ever does that.
Continues framing the two testimony. He says experiences of goodness.
Two James Martin types living the James Martin life. Experiences of goodness.
This is a senate document which constitute successes stages of development in the individuals involved.
The document notes the protagonist of the first testimony's discovery that sin at its root does not consist in this in the in this kind of relationship following the devastating effects of repairarative therapies aimed at recovering the natural inclination.
They the document notes again the protagonist of the first testimony. This is the person, their testimony, the person living a way the church says we cannot live that involved in sins that cry out to heaven for justice according to sacred scripture which is inherent.
He discovered that sin at its roots is not resolve is not because of the relationship and he did this after trying to recover the natural inclination.
Now brace yourself for this. I had some people on X say that they needed barf bags after reading this part and not because of any explicit salient details but because the Vatican is now not long after Leo met with Courage International. They're throwing Courage International under the bus.
Quote, "The document takes specific aim at courage, a Catholic group established for the support of those with this inclination who wish to live chastely in a in accord with church teaching, citing a testimony describing quote problematic membership in the group." The report characterizes Courage's approach as repairerative therapy and condemns it for having the effect of separating faith and sexuality.
This is a Vatican document.
Later in the text, study group 9 presents marriage as an open question regarding these inclinations and relationships and states that solutions to these questions quote cannot be anticipated with pre-established formulas.
Pre-established formulas are the doctrinal teachings of the church.
under the title possible pathways and questions for sonatal discernment. The group suggests that quote while listening to the word of God lived in the church. Notice that qu notice that qualification not listening to the word of God because it's the word of God but the word of God lived in the church.
That puts a relativistic spin on sacred scripture. Lived in the church means the lived experiences of the faithful. What they call the faithful. like the man or the two men giving their testimonies here.
It is necessary, quote, to address with Parisia the current recurring question of whether one can speak of marriage in relation to persons with these attractions.
Leaving the question open, the document asks whether these kinds of relationships can be thought of as equal to the natural conjugal union despite the evident impossibility of procreation. quoting the document.
Consequently, we must ask how the Christian community is called to interpret and address questions relating to the educational commitments towards children within family, ecclesial, and social life. In relation to the de facto unions between believers of these types, the document states, in other words, in other words, we must ask how the Christian community is open to reinterpreting the educational commitments. Remember, attitudes need to change. Now, are we going to use this? We're going to teach in our Catholic schools the secular notions of the sins of the flesh and their acceptance of these things with specific aim towards f children with family ecclesial and social life.
That's the cinnid doing this ape of the church territory. This is full ape of the church territory.
Cardinal Mario Gres, Secretary General of the Sinnate said the report offers concrete tools for addressing the most difficult questions without fleeing from complexity, listening to those dis concerned, reading reality and bringing together different forms of knowledge.
Again, this is more secular left-wing speak, different forms of knowledge. It is the sonal method applied to the most demanding situations.
It is utterly grotesque. Remember what I told you though? James Martin had a statement ready minutes after that story broke. Outreach. James Martin's activist organization had this article just ready to go on their website. Amazing how that works.
Headline, Vatican listens to James Martin types a major step forward.
Yeah, a major step forward into the infernal sulfuric pit.
[sighs] And it goes over the background here of the Senate of Bishops and how the Senate on cidality came together and how these these issues kept getting pushed off and pushed off until they could get a be given the opportunity to spend a lot of time on them. All this is pointed towards the 2028 and 2029 next phase of the Senate on cidality because the Senate on cidality is never going to end.
talks about testimonies. The first testimony from a dude who is in a parody of holy matrimony to another dude in Portugal speaks candidly of growing up Catholic with the graces and struggles that one experiences as a person of this type in the church. I cannot ignore the scars I carry. He says, "I've witnessed the devastating effects of these attempts at these therapies that help people get back to normal and the breakup of families, which felt like an attack on God's sensitive and blameless creation."
Blameless creation.
Is creation blameless at this point? Or does or does original sin have a factor into this concept here? Let me know in the comments.
These experiences deeply hurt because they target the inherent dignity of a person who simply bears the love of another who's just like them.
See how they're using this language?
Human beings have inherent inalienable dignity, infinite dignity. Hear this constantly in the immigration talk.
They changed the teaching on capital punishment.
And they changed the teaching on who can receive holy communion in relation to marriage. If you're divorced and remarried, can you receive holy communion? No.
They changed all those things. So why should anybody be surprised that this is where they're going next?
And many people cheered it on. Oh, it's more merciful to, you know, we have these we have these, you know, supermax prisons now. We don't need to worry about the capital punishment. Come on.
Right? That's what we hear.
Pis the 12 upheld it and they had those kind of prisons back in the 1940s and 50s when he did so.
[snorts] This is what happens. You change the teaching on one thing and it cracks the door open for everything else.
The second testimony, the article continues, from a from a dude in a parody of holy matrimony in the US includes his experience of similar kind of therapy. And finally, happiness as he studied for his PhD in theology at Forom University. We're going to talk about forom here in a minute, by the way. He here's what happens when your Catholic schools are corrupted. quote, "I learned new forms of theology that helped me accept myself as a dude who is inclined in this way, created in God's image, reading the Bible in context."
In context. You know how they're train changing church teaching on all sorts of things and they're going after the Bible. reported to you that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops has authorized a Bible for your private study that will be available next year that says the sins of those cities God destroyed in the Old Testament were not because of this sin. It was because of inhospity to travelers and to migrants.
That's what they did.
They changed the context.
Reading the Bible in context made me realize the traditionalist interpretations have little to say about contemporary lifegiving relationships of these kind. I began to take my experience there it is again in the experience of other people like this seriously as the site of God's unfolding work at forom. He revealed his inclinations to the world and began the heart of hard work of spiritual healing and integration.
He also lists outreach and fortunate families as blessings in his life and he loves the church. Being a Catholic of this kind is not easy. Many days I grieve the harm the church has caused. A spotless bride of Christ has caused harm now. Okay. But I also have hope. I have witnessed the conversion during Pope Francis's papacy at the local and universal levels of the church. And I look forward to helping build up the body of Christ that reflects Jesus's ministry of healing and inclusion.
goes on to cite fiducia supplicants as a great thing. Authors of course pastor Jimmy Martin FJ and he had this ready for when the document was released because he knew it was coming.
Some of the reactions to this are what you would expect. Radical the radical fidelity blog or Substack rather headline latest Senate report cunningly sneaks an attempt to normalize perversion. [snorts] Quote nestled in study group 9 final report and obscured by cidales meaning the language of cidality. We find the suggestion that quote sin at its root does not consist in this kind of coupled relationship but rather in a lack of faith in a God who desires our fulfillment.
Our fulfillment.
God who desires our fulfillment.
Again, there's an element of truth to that. Our fulfillment in this life is friendship with God.
And that means living as he tells us to live. being in a state of grace and doing the things the church tells us to do so that we and we do those things in this life so that we can spend eternity the next life with him and that is where our fulfillment will be in living that way now so that we can be in the botific vision forever.
So yes, God desires our fulfillment but that is our fulfillment. It's not our material happiness.
It's not. We're told to carry our cross kind of at odds with our material happiness. Look at this language. This is propagandistic word play they're doing here.
This crafty manipulation of the meaning of sin shifts the discussion away from objective moral acts towards subjective interior disposition. In other words, as long as your heart is right with God, the sin you commit isn't really a sin.
Not only is this a grievous misrepresentation that will jeopardize souls, as Jimmy Martin has already latched onto this phrase to show his followers that this sin is okay with apostate Rome. But in essence, it is a Protestant notion of religion. Such a shift represents not merely a change in emphasis, but a further rupture with the consistent moral theology of the Catholic Church. The Catholic understanding of sin is not reducible to a vague failure of trust in God. Sin certainly includes a rupture in one's relationship with God, but it is also concretely expressed in actions that violate divine and natural law. Catholic teaching clearly distinguishes between inclination and act. While this attraction itself is not considered sinful, such acts are described as contrary to natural law and therefore morally disordered. The report's language collapses this distinction by implying that the moral problem lies not in the relationship itself but in a deficiency of faith. It appears to relativize the objective moral content of actions. This is precisely the concern raised historically whenever moral theology drifts towards subjectivism. If sin is primarily understood as an interior attitude, then external acts lose their moral significance and the church's moral teaching becomes negotiable. Negotiable and subjective moral teaching has of course already become one of the main characteristics of the sonal false religion. Where's the lie?
Where is he wrong?
Maybe a more mainstream source for you.
Diamatana, who is a Catholic journalist accredited to the Holy Sea Press pool, is asking the obvious question.
Has the Vatican Senate office become Father James Martin's PR arm? Senate study group report highlights testimony of New York Times featured man blessed with a dude by James Martin after Fidia supplicants. Yeah, the US testimony.
There's that picture. One of those two men is the one who wrote that testimony.
He [snorts] the It's a good question.
Has it become his PR arm? I'm going to answer this with another question.
What we've seen throughout the entire Senado process is a radical document is issued by a Senate working group. It's discussed at the Senate more broadly and then a slightly more moderate document is issued as the church position which makes the the pope and the Roman hierarchy look as if they are the voice of reason when in reality if you look at the document they issue it's radical.
It's just not as radical as what is proposed. That is the game they play.
It's a manipulative game, a game of deception.
The decision was immediately praised by Father James Martin FJ as a quote significant step forward in the church's relationship with this community.
What neither the Vatican nor the nor father Martin has acknowledged, however, is that one of the testimonies appears to have been written by a man featured in a 2023 New York Times article receiving a blessing alongside his uh partner from the same Jesuit priest just one day after the publication of Fiducia supplicants.
It goes on and it says to list some of the characters here. If you want further deeper dive into some of these people, you you can I will put all these in my show notes at the Anthony Stein substack later today.
Structured in three parts. Part one proposes a paradigm shift.
So paradigm shift, there's a number of ways you can look at what a paradigm shift is. You hear people talk about the Overton window.
That's another kind of language of paradigm shift. It means a fundamental change in the direction of government policy. You can use it in sports when suddenly a new dynasty appears in your preferred professional sport. Um a paradigm shift in uh technology. We've all lived through several of those.
Right now we're we've entered a paradigm shift involving AI. the paradigm shifts.
These are major changes in all of society, in an institution, in government, whatever it is, and at the direction of what it does.
Part one proposes a paradigm shift, meaning a major revolutionary change in direction in how the church approaches its most difficult doctrinal, pastoral, and ethical questions. The shift is described as a process initiated by Vatican 2 that challenges the models that have been prevalent in ecclesial life over the past centuries.
They keep telling you that Vatican 2 fundamentally radically changed the church. Will people start believing them?
It's an uncomfortable thing when traditionalists whether they are recognized and resist or set of a contest or some other option always point to Vatican 2 as the inflection point. It was not this beginning of the problem but it was the inflection point. It was that moment when everything changed.
Pest the 10th would not have written pendi if there everything had been hunky dory in the church and he wrote that document almost 60 years before the close of Vatican 2.
Part two introduces what it calls the principle of pastorality as the key for implementing the paradigm shift currently underway. Wonder what the principal pastorality looks like.
Amoris Latitzia opens with a upholding of the church teaching on who can receive holy communion in relation to marriage and then for pastoral reasons it explicitly says we're going to toss that out. We affirm the teaching but for pastoral reasons we're going to do something else. The duchia supplicants followed suit.
Here we are.
According to the study group's executive summary, this means that quote the proclamation of the gospel needs to take responsibility for the interlocutor in whom the proclamation is already at work through the spirit and talk about conversion of the spirit and addresses all of this up in Catholic sounding language.
Having outlined the approach, part three applies it to two emerging issues the authors identify as particularly significant for local churches. the experience of James Martin type people who are believers and the experience of active nonviolence.
The authors make clear that the document is not intended as an exercise of an authority but as a fruit of work entrusted to a study group during the sonatal process aimed at fostering the discernment in local churches.
It goes on to say it's not offering concrete solutions. James Martin is tied directly to the document through the people who were interviewed gave their testimonies at least one of them.
He is a consulter for the diccastri for communications and has long been said that those who manipulate the levers of power in Rome are Jesuits and has been the case for 40 years at least probably longer than that.
But it's not that he's manipulating them.
They will give you a more moderate version of this in two years and everybody will be like, "Oh, that's a relief." When they will have pushed the door open further and further and further towards apostasy.
James Martin published this article here.
Well, he didn't. It was this was published in a Polish Catholic news outlet that same day.
James Martin has the the title has the author credit ship but this because it's an excerpt from his book building a bridge the church and this community we must move away from offensive language and he's not talking slurs you know the that word that the um the Brits use for tobacco products not that word no he's not talking that he's comparing this to words we wouldn't use to describe people by ethnicity in the us anymore.
But what he's talking about is the accepted term. You can't use this one on YouTube. It's why I dance around it. But it's, you know, the homo sapiion word. We'll say, get rid of sapien, add in a different word. That word doesn't want to use that because it's too clinical. He doesn't like the term struggling with that attraction.
It's an outdated term, let alone the term derived from the city destroyed by God in the Old Testament.
Can't use that one. We must move away from offensive language. Why is it offensive? Because it because it hurts the Fifes of people who are public unrepentant sinners who have convinced themselves that God's okay with their sin. And for that to be okay, it means the church has been wrong its entire history on the nature of sin. This is why that USCCCB Bible translation is so important. They're changing attitudes with it. By redefining what those sins were in the first place, you would be forgiven like I think if you think like me that most of the bishops are of either that inclination or extremely sympathetic to it.
That's how you get Bible translations like this. That's how you get Oregon Catholic press in most parishes with its heretical with its heretical hymns written by a member of the James Martin Brigade who is um was later incredibly accused of harming people.
If you want to see how far this rot goes a small little story here, Pope Leo is sympathetic to the cause of James Martin. I know that's a radical statement to make for some people. very radical. Some will say but he spoke against the blessings of uh from the German bishops. He spoke against the formalized blessings. He said Feduchia supplicant stands. Go watch what he said again. And from there you got this culture of blessing all these types and no enforcement mechanism ever against anything that they're doing. The German bishops got a letter a very lukewarm I recently covered that story. very lukewarm, oh, please don't go into formalized blessings letter two years ago from the Vatican, which they just published for everybody. Nothing's going to happen to the German bishops for breaking that though. And why is that?
Because the pope is at least sympathetic to them. Go to Glory TV. Here's a good example.
Headline: Leo the 14th's James Martin type designer, a story of acceptance.
You're going to tell me that Rome, Italy, lacks highprofile elite level fashion designers who could design papal garments.
Color me skeptical.
There is no way that that Rome lacks people like this who have the credentials and the skills to to design clerical garments for the highest upper echelon tiers of of the Roman cury including for the holy father himself.
That is simply not possible.
If this person had never opened their mouth and gone to the media and then got went unpunished for it, more the more pe those among you who are more charitably inclined to this to be tolerant of these kinds of decisions. Maybe it was done as a pastoral charity or something could be more inclined to forgive it. But he went to the media. He's been very public about his role now, the way he lives his life. That article is interesting if you're into the nuts and bolts of papal clothing.
talked about how Pope Leo likes the symbolism of traditional of modern traditional clerical garb and all the rest and the things that it points to and all this and that's fine. There's nothing wrong with most of that. The problem is you now have a publicly known unrepentant public sinner working directly for the pope.
Presumably he knows another example, brother Andre Marie. Few years ago, I uh he and I had a conversation about interior prayer.
He posted this.
Forom's president just admitted on camera she rejects Catholic teaching and nobody in the church lifted a finger.
This is what decades of Jesuit apostasy looks like.
The US bishops rather famously are criminally support this through their inaction. They do nothing to correct it.
Occasionally you get you get a braver one who will say, "Oh, no, James Martin, you're not allowed to give your heretical talk in my dascese. That's it."
The bishop of a dascese has incredible pull over a Catholic university.
Despite the land of lake statement, if you know what that is, from 60 years ago talking declaring their semi-independence from the church for the universities, the bishop still has incredible pull in a dascese. So why isn't the anything been done about this one? Because most of them agree with this. And the ones who don't, most of them are too afraid to act.
And not just from the secular authorities, they're afraid to act from the Roman authorities. What the Vatican will do.
Go back to the bishops canceled under Francis. Virtually all of them were orthodox. They taught the Catholic faith. They said uncomfortable things about morality and for that they got cancelled. All of them including Strickland.
Deadline from Catholicism.org. Fordhamm president publicly rejects Catholic teaching.
Form University in the Bronx is one of America's leading ca Jesuit institutions of higher learning. In what must be a first for the Catholic Church in the US, Forom President Tanya Tetllo is the daughter of a former Jesuit priest. A supporter of James Martin's parody of holy matrimony, the ordination of women and the James Martin program, Tetllo has characterized the traditional understanding of gender as fundamentalist.
She is a friend and ally of twisted priest James Martin. She has expressed publicly her re rejection of perennial Catholic teaching on the impermissibility of artificial birth control. Earlier this month, in response to a student government proposal to allow the distribution of contraceptives on campus, Tetlo stated, quote, "I will tell you that like the vast majority of American Catholics, I disagree with the church on its policy on this, but it is the church's policy and as a Catholic institution, we don't violate that."
Oh, good. Well, at least you're upholding a church teaching that you first made sure everybody knew you virtue signal that you didn't agree with.
On April 28th, reporter Matt Lamb of Life contacted the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts seeking a comment. League director CJ Doyle issued the following statement. Jesuit Higher Education in America is an advanced state of apostasy and has been for decades. This is reflected in every aspect of university life. The choicement of commencement speakers and honorary degree recipients. The public figures who are given platforms. The persons invited to serve on boards of trustees. The persons hired as administrators and faculty members. The student groups which are recognized and funded and afford access to university facilities. The provisions for student health services. The links to institutions which offer student internships and the ubiquitous James Martin type advocacy.
In a statement of forom value, in a statement of forom values, it never mentions Jesus Christ or the Catholic faith, while its mission statement ignores Christian formation in favor of quote the living tradition of Catholicism. There's that phrase, the living tradition.
Term living tradition is kind of like the term the living constitution we hear in a politics. All it is is we have the right to change this.
That's all it means. Change was expected and we should be able to change it to do whatever we want. and and change including previous doctrinal or constitutional decisions on something. It's all it means living tradition.
And by extension, they call those of us who are traditionalists adherence to a not living tradition, a dead tradition.
They never get punished because most of your bishops are either sympathetic to their cause or have those inclinations themselves.
There have been voices trying to tell us this for many, many years now, all the way back at least to the book Goodbye Good Men. Maybe we should start listening.
Let me know what you think about that in the comments.
One final story.
It's always good news when a high-profile cleric speaks up about errors. had a lot of weird stuff in the news lately to the point where uh the the arrival of Sarah Mle, the quoteunquote archbishop of Canterbury, the arch laywoman of Canterbury, when her arrival in Rome and being feeded by the pope and being treated as if she held a valid office, being celebrated to the point where you saw Catholic bishops cross themselves when she invoked a blessing on This was scandalous of course caused international scandal. People from across the church spectrum from kind of moderates to hardline traditionalists were all like what are you guys doing?
This is this is a problem and then citing church teaching on the Anglican church specifically.
Well, now we have a good cleric who has spoken up. He he used to work as a theologian under Pope Benedict the 16th.
Monscior Nicola Books published by Infovatakana.
This article headline Monsenior Books asks the Vatican for clarification regarding the gestures towards Malle.
Clarification is nice. I guess you you won't get it probably, but he asks for clarifications.
Details from the article.
Recent scenes during Sarah Malle's visit to Rome, primate of the Anglican communion, have provoked a critical reaction from theological circles. The priest and theologian Monsier Nicola Books has warned the of possible confusion among the faithful following certain gestures made at the Vatican in the presence of the Anglican leader.
According to the Stillium Cur website, Books has particularly questioned the consistency between these acts in Catholic doctrine on the priesthood and ecclesial authority. Of course, he has because he has sense. I've covered his writings before.
Monscior books is actually one of the good ones. He doesn't speak up very often, but when he does, it's worth paying attention to. It's worth listening to him at length only if only because at the end of the day, there is a crisis in the church.
And sometimes you learn much about it when moderate voices speak up on the side of pointing out that the very real nature of the crisis is in fact a crisis. No matter how much certain people want to deny that such a crisis actually exists.
It doesn't take the Vatican admitting there's a crisis for the crisis to be real. Especially when the Vatican are the ones causing it. Our duty, our great duty as Catholics is to keep the faith. So when someone tells you, well, what are we supposed to do during all this?
It's simple. You keep the faith.
And unfortunately, you have this situation where you get these these false shepherds, which is what ceremony is, which is a woman live action role playing as an archbishop.
Here's Father Books's full statement.
It's not terribly long.
from the Stillium Carry website translated using a translation extension with the with the publishers's note. We received from Father Nula Bucks to whom we appreciate a brief note on the terrible episode that took place in the in the Basilica of St. Peter with the benediction in quotes of the Archbishop of of Canterbury Sarah Malle with Monscinior Flavio Pache, Secretary of the the Castry for the Promotion of Christian Unity. There it is. She is in no way holding a real office with the ability to give anybody an external blessing.
There's a whole lot of things about her personally that find that make it extra scandalous.
Here's Mr. Book uh Ms. Bucks.
There is a contradiction between many Anglican pastors who have converted into priests of the Catholic Church and are incarnated in the ordinariates established ad hoc by Benedict the 16th and the Pope's message of good wishes who raised Cardinal Ko and Sarah Mley who is not only objectionable because of being a woman unless no one is the primate of Canterbury since the third members of the Anglican communion do not recognize her as such. What he means here there's a reference and you can see the translation is a little clunky.
There was an entire group of Anglicans who who have basically declared set of aant when it comes to the to Canterbury and have said they're not in communion with her because she is a James Martin type herself and she has uh expressed undying loyalty to sacrificing the most vulnerable to Moolok.
You you can't make a greater caricature of the Anglican communion and of Christianity if you wanted to.
And what is the decision of the secretary of the diccastri for the promotion of Christian unity? Mount senior Flavio Pache who is blessed with the lord of the cross while the Anglican bishop imparts a blessing in the clementine chapel in the tomb of St. Peter. Don't you know ko and patch about the falsehood of your actions? I mean do you realize what you've done? [snorts] Ignorance or evilist scandalizes and confuses many Catholics and requires for clarification on the part of the Vatican.
And he poke posts here some some uh you know just posts from X and pictures that are ultimately scandalous. I mean look at this.
Many fe how many uh female bishops can you point? This is a picture of the Anglican bishops. There are several of them not not let not let not let not let not let not let not let not let not let not let not let alone their priestesses.
There's no valid sacraments from them except baptism because anybody can do it if you do it properly but that's about it.
Okay. Holy matrimony because that's imparted by the uh the the husband and wife to to to one another. But beyond that there are no valid sacraments there.
I'm very curious what you think of this.
Does this shock you that anybody is speaking up about this?
Father Books used to be a theologian who worked for Benedict the 16th. He was cast out into the outer darkness by Francis and has spent the last 13 years now essentially just writing public letters because that's all is left for him to do.
Christine says, "Seems to me these people want to call ignorant of what the Bible literally tells them that they're supposed to do, which is the will of God. This is the great falling away. And if this isn't this is a pre and if this isn't the great falling away, if this isn't the great apostasy, then this is then this is a precursor [snorts] to it. This is the warm-up act.

Outside the church, there is no salvation. Leaving the church does not afford you anything. go joining some founded on the ideas of some guy in the 15th century or 16th century some group like that doesn't afford you salvation they the devil has focused on the Catholic church for a specific reason because it's the church Christ founded on the rock of Peter back to that conversation if you will that between our Lord and the devil that Pope Leo I 13th has is said to have heard in in a vision of sorts I can destroy your church our Lord has told I just need the time I need the power to which our Lord says, "You will have the time. You will have the power." For his own purposes, he did this. We don't know why, but we're in that time. Can't imagine what that time would look like if we're not in already.
All of the things happening in Rome were being done by men who have functionally left the faith. A good a good case can be made for it. I don't know where that leaves us, but it seems to be where we are.
But I'm very curious what you think about this. And as Rizzio says in the chat, 24 days to June, their month of choice. Yeah.
Pray for their interior conversion.
Instead of getting angry at them, use that anger to pray for them because that is the only way. It's praying and fasting is how we will get through this until our Lord chooses to intervene himself.
Let me know what you thought of all this in the comments. Please like and subscribe if you have not. It does help.
So to sharing this on social media, that helps as well. And always pray for the church. I'm Anthony Stein. A Maria.
