Wolf Park Indiana, a non-profit wildlife sanctuary in Battle Ground, Indiana, demonstrates how rewilding former agricultural land can restore natural ecosystems for native wildlife. The park conducts behavioral research on wolves to understand their natural behaviors, which informs education and conservation efforts. The 7-acre Turtle Lake habitat exemplifies this restoration, representing ecosystems as they appeared before modern agriculture transformed the landscape. This approach shows that understanding animal behavior is essential for effective wildlife conservation and ecosystem restoration.

Wolf Park Indiana: Wildlife Sanctuary Tour & Behavioral ResearchAjouté :
Welcome to Wolf Park, a non-profit wildlife sanctuary located in Battle Ground, Indiana.
Wolf Park focuses on research, education, and the conservation of native species.
The park property is entirely rewilded agricultural land that now provides habitats for wolves and other local wildlife.
We took the Save Wolves, Save Wilderness tour there, which is a guided 45-minute to 1-hour walk covering just about half a mile around the facility.
The park's mission focuses on behavioral research to understand wolves and the use of that knowledge for education and conservation.
Our walk starts at Turtle Lake, the park's largest habitat at 7 acres.
Rewilded, it represents ecosystems as they appeared before modern agriculture, as most of the land now looks like this field right across the path.
