The Hidden Crisis for Women in Indian Science追加:
Well-meaning male scientists don't know how to support women and end up appearing patronizing or mansplaining.
This is a colleague long ago from one of the eminent institutions who said women post docs only come for breeding and child rearing. Actually said this.
Having a child is not a problem on part of the woman. Not being able to support a talented researcher at this small stage in her life and to allow that scientist to thrive is a problem on part of the institution. If half your workforce cannot be supported such that their careers thrive, the whole country suffers, institution suffers. Time we got out of our heads that having a child is the woman's business and the woman's problem.
