Why an RPG Round Doesn't Actually Explode on Mud

[00:00:00]An RPG seven round can penetrate 500 mm of rolled steel. It can be defeated by 6 in of wet mud. Those two facts exist simultaneously. The RPG-7's PG-7V warhead detonates via a piezoelectric fuse, a crystal in the nose cone that generates an electrical charge on impact. That charge fires the detonator.
