Organizations implement devil's advocate roles in meetings to prevent groupthink by deliberately assigning someone to argue against the prevailing opinion regardless of their personal views, which encourages critical evaluation of ideas; practicing this skill in low-stakes environments builds the neurological capacity for logical thinking, helping individuals resist cortisol-induced stress responses that can interrupt rational decision-making processes.

Be the Devil's Advocate #psychology #amygdala本站添加:
All you need is one person to agree with your correct answer.
I mean, organizations implement devil's advocate roles in meetings to prevent group think.
Or at least they should. Not not necessarily at the last organization that I was at.
But an individual deliberately assigned right to argue against the prevailing opinion regardless of their personal views. I mean, this makes people think.
It probably pisses some people off for a week, but you know.
That happens in any business, right? It creates consent that encourages critical evaluation of ideas, right? And this is good, guys. Be that person. Practice it in low-stakes environments though, right? So so when the stakes are actually high, right? The neurological muscle is kind of already built, right?
And and you're not, you know, all stressed out about it, right? You don't let the cortisol sort of, you know, interrupt your your logical thinking process there.
