[00:00:00]Bonding of plastics, part three. So, today we continue with some more bonding examples of plastics. And we discuss today the category polar and insoluble. So, solubility meaning partially diffusion of adhesives into the plastic to have better bonding.

[00:00:24]So, in this category we have polyurethanes. We have polyamides. We have phenolic resins. And we have polyester resins. So, they are still bondable. However, I would put it in the category bondable.

[00:00:42]Then, the last category we have nonpolar and insoluble. There we have now the polyolefins, polyethylene, polypropylene. We have the fluoropolymers such as polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE. And we have also silicones. And those polymers must need a surface treatment prior to bonding with another material.
