[00:00:43]But, I'm super excited because I just got this new series of books for the elementary level.

[00:00:50]They just came like 10 minutes ago.

[00:00:52]And I just love the idea of this series so much that I had to do it today.

[00:01:00]And I want to say the book is called The Princess in Black.

[00:01:09]And it's by Shannon Hale and Dean Hale.

[00:01:12]And it's illustrated by LeUyen Pham.

[00:01:15]But, I wanted to say this book goes out to a special friend of mine.

[00:01:23]She's very smart. She's very funny.

[00:01:27]She's very kind.

[00:01:30]She is sporty.

[00:01:33]She's spunky.

[00:01:35]Um she is a delight.

[00:01:39]And she's also 10.

[00:01:41]And her name is Anna.

[00:01:44]So, let's dive in.

[00:01:51]It's going to be a good one, I can tell.

[00:01:52]I think it's a New York Times bestseller. Anyway.

[00:01:56]Chapter 1.

[00:01:59]This is my better side. Princess Magnolia was having hot chocolate and scones with Duchess Wigtower.

[00:02:06]The hot chocolate was hot. The scones were sweet.

[00:02:09]The breeze from the window was warm and wishy.

[00:02:13]"How lovely of you to visit," said Princess Magnolia, "and unexpected."

[00:02:20]Bless them.

[00:02:23]Not that age.

[00:02:25]"I love to meet people in their own homes," said Duchess Wigtower, "I always uncover secrets."

[00:02:33]"Secrets?" said Princess Magnolia. "Yes, secrets," said Duchess Wigtower, "hidden messages, skeletons in closets, that sort of thing."

[00:02:44]"Closets?" said Princess Magnolia. The hot chocolate burned her lip. The breeze knocked her curls into her face. She was no longer enjoying herself.

[00:02:56]"You seem so prim and perfect." Duchess Wigtower leaned forward.

[00:03:01]"But, everyone has a secret."

[00:03:05]Princess Magnolia brushed crumbs off her frilly pink dress.

[00:03:09]She hoped she didn't look nervous because she didn't did indeed have a secret.

[00:03:16]A huge secret. A secret she didn't want anyone to uncover, specially not the nosey Duchess.

[00:03:25]Mhm.

[00:03:31]Just then, Princess Magnolia's glitter stone ring rang.

[00:03:37]The monster alarm, thought Princess Magnolia. Not now.

[00:03:42]"What was that ringing sound?" asked Duchess Wigtower.

[00:03:46]"A bird?"

[00:03:47]said Princess Magnolia.

[00:03:50]She wished her ring's ring sounded anything like a bird. It didn't.

[00:03:54]"Strange bird," said the Duchess.

[00:03:57]"Maybe it's sick," said Princess Magnolia. "I should check."

[00:04:04]>> [clears throat] >> Princess Magnolia minced to the door.

[00:04:09]Her glass slippers went tink tink tink tink.

[00:04:12]"You're going to just leave me here?"

[00:04:14]said the Duchess.

[00:04:16]"I'll hurry back," said Princess Magnolia.

[00:04:19]She smiled sweetly.

[00:04:21]She shut the door softly.

[00:04:23]And then Princess Magnolia ran.

[00:04:28]Chapter 2 because it's just too good.

[00:04:32]Princesses do not run.

[00:04:36]Princesses do not stuff frilly pink dresses into broom closets.

[00:04:39]Princesses do not wear black.

[00:04:44]And princesses most definitely do not slide down secret chutes and high jump castle walls. But, then most princesses do not live near an entrance to Monster Land.

[00:04:57]Stopping monsters was no job for prim and perfect Princess Magnolia.

[00:05:01]But, fortunately, Princess Magnolia did have a secret.

[00:05:09]As most women do.

[00:05:12]She was secretly the Princess in Black.

[00:05:16]And stopping monsters was the perfect job for the Princess in Black.

[00:05:25]Okay, that was chapter 1 and chapter 2.
